Birth
All inhabitants of London were accustomed to the misty drizzle in which lush green forests seemed gray and lifeless in their distant vision. One particular day had brought an unwelcome change in the usual cloud patters. Coiling black and purple clouds spit streaks of lighting which faded beyond the horizon. Rainwater collected by matted leaves was lost to newly born streams as the earth shook from thunderous vibrations. Despite the cold edge in the air, a small number of elves stood outside a cave hardly a size worthy for two children to make a hideout. Their simple clothing, having been subject to the rain, looked stretched to be two sizes too big. It was quite a day to hold such a grand celebration for this day marked the birth of their Princess. Really there was no king and queen, it was a choice they made to follow their Lord and Lady many centuries ago. Nevertheless, she was still a princess to them.
A tiny cry was heard from the cave and cheers erupted which not even the roaring thunder could compete. The Lord and Lady knelt at the mouth of the cave revealing a tiny elf with such fine blonde hair and light blue eyes both were nearly an angelic white. With the exception of a few, the elves dispersed gathering berries, fruits, flowers, dry underbrush, and a small deer in which a prayer was said. They cooked the deer on a fire that gave light and warmth through the storm and used the skin as a blanket for the child. Wreaths of flowers were placed over the new Mother and Father and a tiny tiara made of saplings and dried flowers was placed on the Child. There was music and dancing along with a simple feast in celebration of new life; their princess, Anslie.
Unbeknownst to all but one in both the world of living and dead, Anslie was not only loved by the elves and nature, but also by a secretive Shinigami. Waiting for the moment in which he would reveal himself to her, every once in a while he gathered souls from the area Anslie was traveling. Never influencing her life, he watched from afar, ever patient. After all, time meant little to Shinigami. Of course he knew that she would be the object of desire to many creatures but this did not concern him. Not at all. Who could possibly compare to a Shinigami with such grace and charm? What creature could ever offer her what Shinigami could? This made him laugh; none.
They say curiosity killed the cat; in any case, the cat was dead and that meant another soul. Curious about what Shinigami was thinking, another Shinigami, Renji, began questioning him and following him daily- much to Shinigami's annoyance. Naturally nothing changed in his daily routine except the constant aggravation with Renji. There was nothing to hide and it never looked as though he were interested in the elf. Well, maybe her death. Apparently Renji had found the answer he wanted because he finally left to his own business after months of being a pest.
Death/Rebirth
It was a lively day in London. Those who hid from the rain had a chance to enjoy the clear sky that was usually behind layers of clouds. In an open clearing, Anslie skipped along a trail of rocks picking fragrant flowers that bloomed with the sun's appearance at long last. Droplets of rain glimmered giving everything an enchanted fairytale look. In Renji's opinion, it was the perfect day to create a beautiful death for a princess who had captured the heart of one Shinigami and the jealousy of another. As Anslie drew nearer to a bed of tropical flowers, Renji faded into the shadows and watched silently with a menacing smirk. The light fragrance was sweet and comforting. Spinning like a ballerina she laughed and fell into the flowers finding the ground soft like a bed of feathers. The fresh stems she had been carrying were scattered around her like stars dotted in the sky. With one last breath, Renji caused her heart to fall silent, laughing as he abandoned her soul. He had no intention of guiding it across the River Styx; he would leave that for her love. Her death would surely forever tear at his soul; a pleasing thought to Renji.
Once night descended, one of the elves from her "family" went looking to call her to settle for the night. They knew of her tendency to wander and thought nothing of her failure to return earlier. Upon finding her body glimmering in the moon light, they were all struck with devastating grief. Taking the flowers as a sign of returning to nature, they held a prayer ceremony in the spot she died. Unable to bear the memories held in the forest, the small family of elves fled to Switzerland to start their new path of grieving.
An adequate number of souls seemed to be waiting to cross from what Shinigami gathered at a quick glance. He was in a fairly good mood because Renji was not coming along and he was free to spend a few extra moments watching his elven princess. When he found her location, rage instantly dominated any logical thought patterns. She looked as if she were peacefully sleeping between a forbidden garden for any but the most purest of souls. Sensing Renji's lingering presence around her death, he instantly sought the other Shinigami. A brief flash of surprise was evident in Renji's eyes as Shinigami's hand clenched around his throat. Before Renji could open his mouth, he was slammed into a nearby wall of rock. Without second thought, Shinigami turned Renji into a pile of ash letting the wind carry the remains.
Appearing near where her body lay, Shinigami collected her soul and led it back into her body. The first thing she saw when her eyes opened was the starry sky. Anslie's head tilted when she saw the Shinigami who simply grinned and resumed collecting souls. He took one last look at her before departing with the newly collected souls. Little did she know he had a clever way to see her without suspicion.
Life
Her first name was Anslie. She had been brought to life by Shinigami. On that fateful night of her "rebirth", that was all she had remembered. She could not remember her family or her last name. With this little knowledge she simply continued to live in the misty forest. Anslie Inigami. A light elf tainted with the taste death, purified by the gift of life, as sweet as a ruby candy apple. She has blonde hair so fair it shines like the white glow of the moon, blue eyes that reflect the summer blue sky, and smooth porcelain skin; a gift to nature from the Gods themselves.
