This is a temp. topic for foil untill I get enough gold to make a sub-forum.... Post anything about foil... Whether it's drills, suggestions... your opinions.. etc. Just general foil discussion.

Doesn't the club your at allow renting of equipment? Also.. Sometimes it's good to see others fence, just to see their style, sometimes you learn a lot. :]

Im a beginner too! Ive been doing fencing for 3 years, and I love the foil, though I want to do saber really badly. Ive been to tournaments, but its true that you learn a lot about other fencers by watching and observing them, like their open areas and their stats on defence and attack. I wish more girls would join fencing here....but they are all in lacrosse and cheerleading (grrrr)

Foil is definitely my favourite since it emphasizes technique that is useful in all the other weapons. I tend to fence solely with foil-- sometimes with epee, and occassionally with sabre if that's all that anyone else is doing.

foil is my favorite weapon because it has a lot of stratagy, right of way rocks! i love that it's really fast paced and you dont really have time to think about what you do and it is just instinct, parrying and reposting
