Mao had been living in the netherworld for 10 years before he moved to the human world, after that he quickly found Fabulosum Bestis and was enrolled. He quickly grew to hate the school, but as it allowed him to be his true form without any shackles he stayed and put up with everything. Sometimes he goes out of his way to laugh creepily in class and creep the hell out of the teachers and some students.
