About 150 years ago, the Whomping Willow died from old age, but the Herbologist teacher that was there at the time loved it so much that they had it replaced with another Whomping Willow. The tree is old and dying again, but it will still swipe at anyone or thing that goes near it, so don't underestimate it, and be careful! If you really upset it, it might lean over too much and die.

Being the nature loving girl Annabel is, when she first arrived at Hogwarts, she explored outside. There wasn't too many flowers or pretty trees. But there was this willow. She stared at it in awe. It was oddly shaped, and ugly. But that ugly tree was beautiful in her eyes. It was dark, but it had a story to tell. Annabel started to walk to it until it started to move. The tree shook violently, and it wasn't from the wind. Annabel backed up then sat for awhile, trying to absorb it's mysterious beauty.

Sara Love 1st year, Ravenclaw Sara was walking to the willow to study, because it was a quiet place... if you stayed back. She noticed a girl there and she looked lonely. Sara kept walking until she was next to the girl. "Hello I'm Sara Love, you are?" she said. It might have been to formal, but who really cares?
