Their magics resonated, and fit together like two harmonic strings of the same song. But whereas Mizumi was dreamless, set and content in her ways, Jareth was a more fickle creature, always seeing change, always wanting more. This very fact alone, unlike what most believe, is what drove the wedge between them (not in fact, Sarah). Jareth couldn't be with someone who couldn't change, couldn't grow, couldn't become more than what she already was. And so he left Mizumi, shutting her out of his heart before she could master it, and erecting the Labyrinth to keep her out of his life and out of his world. Jareth was master of his own fate, he wouldn't let anyone rule him. For years he lived in seclusion, building the Labyrinth, ever changing, ever evolving... ever alone.....
That is...until he found her. Sarah Williams was a brilliant girl! The sheer magnitude of her imagination, the power that dripped from her every word when she told her stories and read her playbook aloud....it captivated him! Visiting her often in the guise of his owl form, he listened to her stories, epic tales of adventure, riddles, romance, and magic! Without realizing it, she was telling the tales of his own world. After some time, Jareth had fallen in love with the girl, and without her knowing, had granted her certain powers to connect her to his world strengthening the 'Underground' with her will.
He had not expected her to come to realize that she could make her little fairytale a reality by saying the 'right' words, and when Sarah actually had absorbed enough of the Undergrounds magic, she unwittingly wished her baby brother away one night when she was upset with her parents for forcing her to babysit. True as she'd spoken her right words, the Goblins came and whisked little Toby away to Jareth's castle, leaving her in a terrible predicament. One he was all too happy to oblige in resolving, so long as she could prove she was more than just a spoiled child demanding her way.
Sure enough, Sarah faced many obstacles he threw her way during her run through the Labyrinth, and each one she overcame and mastered. Though when she reached his castle and confronted him, he didn't expect that she would not submit to his will. Her own was something far more fierce and wild, and he had drastically underestimated her. Conquering his will by stating that he had no power over her, and his heart by refusing his offer, Sarah was reunited with her baby brother, and they were safely returned home. But her connection to the 'Underground' was far from severed, and if anything, her mastery of her own heart and will made her more deeply entwined into Jareth's world. She could come and go as she pleased now, just as Jareth could. Yet she hasn't paid the Labyrinth a visit since that day...

Jareth had ruled the 'Underground' the hidden world of dreams and imagination, for longer than he could clearly remember. This world wasn't entirely separate from the "real" world like Fairy Tale land had been, rather the 'Underground' was more like the lifeblood that flowed beneath the surface of the skin...the very substance that gave life to dreams and creativity. It was always there, hidden behind the layer of what the world knows as reality. The 'land without magic' never truly existed, for even here, this world had it's own 'power'. Only a select few knew how to unlock it, use it, make it their own. Only one girl had all the power in both this world, and the Underground. And that was why he loved her....and hated her all the same. "......Sarah."
Pinching the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger, seemingly lost in thought, he sighed. It was actually amazing one could think at all with the uproar and background noise of his goblin subjects causing veritable chaos all around him. Rolling a single crystal back and forth across the back of his arm all the way down to his fingertips and then around the side, Jareth glowered at the sphere and suddenly gripped it tightly in his hand. Standing abruptly, he threw the crystal with all his might against the opposite wall and it burst into a thousand tiny shards, falling to the floor in a shattered heap. The action alone was enough to silence the goblins and he looked around at them as they stared up at him incredulously. Their beloved kind didn't typically lose it like that. His temper was something not to be trifled with, they knew, but for him to just outburst like that? Hushed whispers started echoing around the room and Jareth looked amongst them, his gloved hands curled tightly into fists. "Well? Any of you care to share what's so bloody entertaining? Come now, OUT with it!"
One goblin was shoved forward by his comrades, and he trembled in awe as he took a few shuffling steps forward towards their king, knowing he was already spotted and it was too late to dive back into the crowd. He swallowed nervously as he pulled a small trinket from behind his back. Offering it up to Jareth with tremoring hands, he opened his mouth to speak, but then suddenly fainted in fright. Jareth clutched the object the goblin had handed him and stared down at it. His mismatched gazed burned into the little ballroom dancer music box, with it's slowly spinning figure resembling the girl so intricately....he sighed then and nodded. Alright....if even his dim-witted and addle-brained subjects could tell his mood, he knew it was time to get out and about. The Underground would have to do without it's monarch for a while. "Alright, alright, I'll go visit her! Someone has to make sure she's not wishing herself into more trouble.....I expect this room to look spotless when I return!"
Apparently, the goblins had thought he was dead serious, for they stared up at him slack-jawed and blinking like someone had just struck them over the heads with a chicken. Turning once he reached the doorway, if only to keep them from making further idiots of themselves by attempting to clean the palace, he crossed his arms. ".....Well, laugh!"
 "....everything I've done, I've done for you. I move the stars for no-one!"

You really get Jareth. heart 3nodding Secretly though, I always rooted for Mizumi to win. They're both so much alike! They want to control the person that won't love them back. Anyways, since Sarah's voice had summoning magic Cora took it for herself.

You really get Jareth. heart 3nodding Secretly though, I always rooted for Mizumi to win. They're both so much alike! They want to control the person that won't love them back. Anyways, since Sarah's voice had summoning magic Cora took it for herself. I like to make it a point to research something fully before I dove headlong into it, RP characters especially. It just so happens I love this movie dearly, and noticed Cora's peach/crystal post. Figured I'd enrich the atmosphere with Anot of Goblin King. wink And that's fine for now. Though if we get a Sarah, he may decide he misses her witty banter and smarmy challenges. I can see it now.... Lol.
