Description: Each fighter will receive an unmarked package delivered to them either through standard postage or through courier late in the evening. Inside is a standard GPS device with a location preloaded. Those savvy with the local area will notice the indication located is a seedy part of Barton town. Known for it's projects, slums, and red light districts. Common establishments include brothels, clubs, greasy diners, tiny apartments, and pawn shops.

It'll be night time before anyone will be able to reach the indicated location. It appears awfully run down, with decaying buildings covered with graffiti and trash laying about. The complete lack of official personal or equipment might make one wonder if this was a set up, at least until their opponent arrives. A few low lifes linger around, with mixed reactions as the fights commence. Some will drunkenly cheer random fighters on, while others might threaten to call the cops. More still will opt to just ignore whats going on, as if it was just another day in the life. If one is observant, they might notice a particular silvery haired girl sitting near the entrance to a nightclub with a friend, both of whom seem to be paying close attention.

Sure hope you all can recognize each other!

Field Measurements: Roughly 40 foot square paved lot. This does overflow to some degree

Ten Count Boundary: Stepping into the street or any of the adjacent businesses will start the ten count. This, however, may be worth it due to the items listed below.

Bonus: Due to not being properly cleared before the matches, there are all sorts of impromptu items littering around. 2x4s with nails, broken bottles and shards of glass, lengths of metal piping all are options for the opportunist fighter. Who knows what else the nearby dumpster might hold. On top of that, an enterprising fighter might opt to risk the 10 count to grab a weapon from one of the nearby businesses. Chairs, pool cues, and even knives are options from the various places nearby...if they can get in and out again in time.

Wade sauntered to the arena immediately, if you wanted to call it an arena. Unlike his first fight, he decided against sitting down and pretending to focus energy or whatever the hell he was doing. He was lucky that his opponent didn't take advantage of his foolishness. The second round would likely be different, considering he was dealing with a fellow winner. It simply meant he had to be slightly more serious. Anyone who expected him to become dull and suddenly become mute would be surprised.

Nope, rather than taking a seat, Wade found a cozy wall to lean against. Many of the people eyes him with weird expressions. After all, he was wearing what looked like a costume...and today was not Halloween. Wonder if they would run if he pulled out his katanas? On the other hand, he had his eyes set on a group of people as well. A group of prostitutes that is, although he didn't let them steal his attention completely. Yup, despite the lack of a formal arena, this was definitely more his style. The bad part in all of this was the accessibility to weaponry. Wade, of course, didn't need anything, he was all geared up. His opponent, however, could now grab a weapon to perhaps match his own.

Robyn was in high spirits as she followed the GPS to where her next match was supposed to be. It had been close, but the fox girl had been victorious. She’d admittedly been a bit worried, since she’d been confident in that first round of HoH too, but this time the scores worked in her favor.

The location she arrived at was...interesting, to say the least. Her ears were back as she strode through the streets; she wasn’t uncomfortable with seedy areas, but she wasn’t exactly used to them either. She kept a clawed hand on one dagger at her hip as she walked, both as a warning and precaution in case anyone got any bright ideas. The open lot was innocuous compared to the surrounding area, and there were enough people around that she might actually have to worry about flinging fire ever which way.

The fox girl strode out into the center of the lot, turning around to look for who her opponent might be. Most of them seemed like your typical low-lifes, at least the ones who hung around instead of passing on. Failing to notice anything too outlandish, she cupped one hand to the side of her mouth (leaving her left still on her dagger hilt), calling out with a fanged grin. ”Yoo hoo, GTB opponent? You out there? Ollie ollie "foxen" free!”

Alright, she was being just a tad silly there.

Really? Another female opponent? "Must be my lucky day..." Perhaps his comment would answer Robyn's question. If not, the moment Wade removed his katanas from their sheaths, her question was sure to be answered. As he done so, he also stopped leaning against the wall and took a few steps towards the girl. "Really? My pretty costume didn't give me away?" Wade's voice was muffled by his mask, and was a bit deeper than it normally was, but he was still fairly easy to understand. A loud noise could have easily made him impossible to understand though. Either way, Wade didn't like to start a fight, so he stood relatively still about two yards away from the wall behind him, temporarily eying Robyn's hands, notably the one on her dagger. His posture resembled some slight instances of preparation, but other than that, he looked pretty lax. He seemed to be right-handed as well, since his left side was closer to the girl than his right.

Robyn’s ear flicked and she turned to the sound of the voice, flashing her fangs in a cocky grin before she gave a short bow, not taking her eyes off him. ”Mighty fine ta meet ya. Sorry for not noticin’ yer “costume”; s’kinda dim out here.” She didn’t see much better in the dark than a normal human, not technically. She could pick up outlines better, which did give her the advantage, but she had nowhere near true night vision.

The fox girl eyed her opponent curiously, focusing especially on the katanas he wielded. Weapon-wise, she was at a bit of a disadvantage in that regard. Her own daggers weren’t long enough to combat the reach of his swords...and he’d have better defense against her staff. But the staff was definitely the better option, she thought as she began to unhook it from behind her on her belt. "Name's Robyn. I'd appreciate it if I could know yours before we start trying ta knock each other senseless." She was still smiling, but her green eyes were watching him warily, and her legs were slightly bent, making sure she wasn’t caught off guard by a sudden attack while her hands were occupied.

As long as he didn’t rush forward, she’d pull it in front as she hit the button, extending the foot long bar of metal to its full five foot length, twirling it lazily a couple times around before settling it into her gloved hands. She too, was inclined to wait, but would pass the time by slowly sidestepping forward, taking a circular path as she closed the distance, leading with her right side.

Fangs? Was this chick a vampire? Vampires are allowed in this thing?! Wait, wait, a vampire with a stick. Wade eyed the weapon Robyn removed from behind her. Seemed like she switched her choice of weapon after she realized her opponent had some pretty scary blades. Still, a foot-long stick -- of metal? Wade didn't pay it much attention, considering it didn't seem all that frightening of a weapon. "My name is Ryan...I mean Wade!! Ryan's my...uh, brother." What Robyn had said was a little off. Wade never looked to knock his opponent out, or at least that wasn't his first choice. Obviously with a bladed weapon, he was looking to draw some blood and cut some flesh.

So far, Wade seemed a bit too relaxed. Maybe it was Robyn's short stick. After all, they weren't here to play fetch. Or maybe that's just how Wade was...always calm. Either way, he was very confident. Although when his opponent decided to turn a foot-long stick into something that could actually beat his katanas in range, he lost a bit of the confidence. "Isn't that fancy..."

Robyn would either chuckle or make a face if he'd actually called her a vampire, especially after what had happened in her last match. Kami, that had tasted so disgusting. That was neither here nor there, though, and the fox girl continued her closing of the distance, warily eying those katanas of his. "Why would ya say your brother's name instead o' your own? Seems a bit odd....and I dunno 'bout fancy, but it certainly gets tha job done." She grinned as she noticed his expression falter a little when he saw that he wouldn't be dealing with a little foot-long bar. Had he really thought that was all it was?

Ordinarily she would have liked to show off a bit with more spins, but with the distance decreasing between them, that wouldn't have been a smart idea. Her gloved hands twisted slightly on the staff, flexing and causing the squeak of leather against metal as she focused her concentration a bit. Once she got about 10 feet away, if Wade still hadn't moved to attack, she'd lunge towards him, switching her grip to both overhand and swinging the left side towards his head. It would be a feint though, and whether he moved to blocked or dodge, that end would smoothly pull back, her body pivoting to the to the left to add momentum and a good angle, aiming to smash into the side of his left knee with the other end.

At least this opponent talked a bit. It made things more interesting. His last opponent refused to do so except at the beginning and end. "Heh, okay, you caught me. My real name is Tom Chruze." Wade was mainly just toying with her. Perhaps a little confusion would somehow influence her mental state...and ultimately affect the battle. Who knows?

But now things were finally getting started. Robyn came in with both hands on her staff-like weapon, so Wade assumed that's what she was focusing on, unless she had an extra set of arms behind her back. Either way, that's what he placed most of his attention on as well. As she charged, Wade looked a lot more prepared. As Robyn aimed an attack at his head, he simply dodged backwards. Not straight backwards, since he knew there was a wall behind him, but offset to his right. This, in turn, gave him enough distance to also dodge the surprise attack aimed at his left knee. While Wade moved, a clinging sound could be heard at the ground after he dropped the katana in his left hand. Hopefully this would distract his opponent and give him a good chance to follow up. Either way, while Wade continued to circle to his right, he would reach at his waist and grab something. With Robyn focused on her own attack, and with the aid of Wade's distraction, she would hopefully not notice what he grabbed until it was too late. Either way, he would then proceed to throw the object towards his opponent, aiming at her left, upper leg -- the point directly between the hip and the knee. If she was hit with it, she would probably realize that he threw a throwing knife at her, and now a seven-inch long blade would be plunged into her leg. If she dodged it though, all she would hear was another sound of metal making contact with the ground.

Instead of being confused, Robyn just blinked at the man like he was crazy. Had he really just called himself Tom Cruise? Did they have him over here? She hadn’t really kept up with celebrities on Gaia...

But that was before her attack and Wade’s subsequent step backwards. Her gaze was focused on his hands, the things wielding the weapons capable of gutting her. His dropping one of his blades confused her, but it also sent her senses on high alert.

One didn’t just “drop” a blade without a reason, especially in the first move of a fight. That hand had to be about to be used for something else. She ignored the sword on the ground and pushed forwards after him, her right hand switching to an underhand grip and pulling back as she brought the left end to smack at his wrist. She usually didn’t go for the debilitating shots this early, but she didn’t want him grabbing whatever he was reaching for.

Normally, when an opponent got this close, Wade would simply aim to cut them with his katana, but he was preparing something even bigger, so that was not really an option. Unfortunately, she was fast and ruined his plan...and on top of that, he lost one of his katana in a failed attempt to distract her. She wouldn't succeed in her attempts either though. Robyn would fail to prevent him from grabbing his dagger-like blade, but he also wouldn't have any time to throw it. To combat against her new attack, Wade slightly changed directions, no longer moving to the right; instead, he "jumped" straight backwards. At same time, he repositioned his wrist to compensate for the incoming attack. Just in case he underestimated the length of it, he would use his knife to guard his hand/wrist. If she still made contact with it despite his dodge attempt, she would have knocked the knife out of his hand. After her attack either failed or succeeded in making contact with Wade or his knife, Wade would seem to fall to the ground. Did he lose his footing or something? The more likely cause would be that his sudden change of direction caused him to trip over his own legs. Robyn's attack would have added to his loss of balance if she made contact with him in any way. Either way, he was falling to the ground.

Damn, she hadn’t been quick enough to stop his grab. Robyn narrowed her eyes as he jumped backwards, not quite out of her reach but messing up the angle she’d been aiming at, the sound of metal on metal clanging as her staff met his knife. In that heartbeat where her attack failed, her staff would suddenly ignite, flames rolling across it from her hands to the ends. The fire wasn’t very thick around it, but it was enough to send shadows dancing around her upper body and face as it flickered. She would quickly pull the staff closer back to her in a guard position in case he tried to throw something her way.

...Well. That was weird. Wade’s fall to the ground would confuse her, seeing as she hadn’t thought he was that off balance, but there was definitely an advantage to him being prone, so, tail lashing behind her, she pressed her attack. As he fell, the fox girl would move more to his left, switching the grip of both her hands and swinging the left end of her weapon up then quickly down with all her strength, aiming at his left ankle. She had almost considered diving on top of him, pressing the heated length of metal against his chest or neck or something, but she seriously wanted to stay out of reach of his weapons.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 17, 2013 5:55 pm

As expected, she would knock his throwing knife out of his hand. That meant his dodge was much too close. But now it was time to stop dodging. He was much less aggressive than normal, but it was all for the next moment. The thing is, his plan would have possibly failed, perhaps with about 50 percent chance of success...but Robyn's own action would increase his chances of success considerably. Causing her staff to ignite into flames, which happened to be the closest thing to Wade, was one of the worst things she could have done against Wade at this moment.

Yes, Wade fell to the ground, but it was completely intentional. He was hoping to bate her, although his opponent was smart to keep her distance. She just couldn't resist the urge to attack and take advantage of the situation though...and who could blame her? Regardless, as she came in for her attack, Wade would slam his katana into the ground, near his own waist. Wade intentionally did this the moment she began swinging. Leaving no time to react, a burst of energy would immediately manifest where Wade's blade entered the ground. It would create an explosion, of sorts. Most people thought of explosions solely in terms of fire, with a bomb or something. Wade's was simply an exertion of basic energy, meant to simply push an object, although that's an understatement, considering the force behind his attack could be compared to three times as strong as a hurricane. With Robyn's fire ability though, his explosion would include fire anyways. Unfortunately, his technique only affected the area within five feet of the katana, so depending on where Robyn actually stood, she might not have been sent flying. But since she was attacking him, her metal staff certainly was within range, and it was surrounded in flames. The explosion would ultimately do two things. One, the fire from her own weapon would be sent flying back at her, likely engulfing her entire body in flames. Two, her weapon would be sent flying backwards as well. The force behind it could have done a few things, depending on her position. If it was sent directly back at her, it could have shattered any bones it might have contacted...or it could have speared right through her if it was positioned right. If she managed to hold on to it though, she may have also been sent flying backwards with it...or it could have broken arm-related aspects of the body, such as the shoulder. Who knows, maybe it was strong enough to rip her arm off? Either way, she was in for some serious pain.

On the other side of things, once the explosion ceased, regardless of the damage it caused, Wade quickly prepared by letting go of his katana and grabbing two more throwing knives, one in each hand. Why wouldn't he simply stand up and ready himself using his katana...or go grab his second katana from the ground? Well, using the explosion technique had a nasty downside. Both of his legs became completely paralyzed, leaving him immobile. Instead of trying to crawl backwards and create separation, he decided to remain near his katana, just in case.

Wade...was about to be in for a surprise.

Oh, he had completely caught her by surprise, no doubt. The fox girl had no clue what was happening until it was too late. Her eyes widened as she started to swing her staff down, her skin suddenly awash with a buzzy, staticky sensation. What on...

Fire blew back over her, although there was no reaction in regards to that. No, the part that took up her attention was her staff suddenly being shoved back against her. One thing to keep in mind, even with the force of three hurricanes...momentum was still involved. There was scarcely a few feet between her and her weapon, and her angle meant she’d actually be catching the metal bar with her side and ribs rather than it being blown over her head. There was a sickening crack as she was actually caught off her feet, blown back a couple yards until she hit the ground again, sliding on her back as flames licked over her clothes. Her hands and staff were devoid of the fire, though, her having lost the concentration to keep it going. She groaned, coughing, then gritting her teeth in pain as that reaction sent spasms through her side.

Robyn knew she had to get up, quickly. She was prone, and hurt, and her opponent could easily take advantage of that. Her bright green eyes blinked slowly as she coughed again, letting out a growl of pain. But she wouldn’t let that keep her down. The fox girl kept growling as she pushed herself up, staff clattering on the pavement as she let it roll off of her. She trained her eyes on Wade with a glare, although there was a flicker of surprise that he hadn’t gotten to his feet yet. Watching for any attack or movement from the man, her hands brushed over her clothes, patting out any of the fire she could still see on her, seemingly with no regards to it, although it left behind plenty of holes and burned patches. That done, she started to reach for her left dagger but with a wince of pain, realized that was not going to be a good option, quickly changing tactics and grabbing the gold-cloth hilted right one, drawing out the 7-inch dagger.

She approached the prone man carefully, hands brought up on guard, one armed, her left empty and open, palm out. She was obviously favoring her right side, although perhaps not as badly as one might expect. One could also perhaps see the grit of her teeth, fangs bared, her flat ears and lashing tail, combined small swirls of glowing red in her eyes showing the willpower and determination she was putting through to try to ignore the pain. Memories of a fractured arm two years ago passed through her mind for a moment, causing her eyes to narrow even more as she closed the distance. ”I...hate...broken....bones.”
PostPosted: Mon Feb 18, 2013 10:01 pm

So his plan did work, to some extent. Wade had expected a bit more form the fire, but at least she was damaged, while he still had not been touched. Although in his state, she had the perfect opportunity to take advantage of him. It wouldn't be surprising if she was skeptic though, considering Wade had just ruined Robyn's attempt at doing such a thing a few second ago. Meanwhile, sound was all Wade had to rely on the first few seconds, considering the brightness of the flames caused him to basically shield himself with his arms...kind of like when the sun suddenly peeps out of no where and blinds you.

Once Wade regained composure, he looked on as Robyn already began getting up despite the injuries. Was she immune to the fire? Or was it simply not as effective as he had hoped? Either wouldn't be all that surprising, considering she was clearly a fire-user...and it was common for such a person to also be immune to fire. Regardless, she was also hit in the ribs, which should have caused some sort of issue with breathing. At least she threw away her weapon though, for some strange reason. Without it, he would undoubtedly have a reach advantage, although that was useless if he didn't get up soon.

As Robyn tried to grab one of her daggers, she thought twice of it after wincing. This meant she was injured. Good. Wade would try taking advantage of her change in decision. While she was going for her other dagger, Wade would throw the two throwing knives towards her direction, first the right, then the left, all before she had the chance to begin moving closer to Wade. The first one was aimed at the arm about to grab the dagger, while the second was aimed at her left, upper leg again, same spot as last time. Immediately after, while she would be busy dealing with the throwing knives, Wade would grab his katana once more, yanking it out of the ground. At about the same time, he would quickly regain the feeling in his legs and feet. Truth be told, he was constantly trying to move them, but it was only know that he actually managed to do so. In response, he immediately attempt to stand back up, grabbing his fourth throwing knife in the fight with his left hand, this one coming somewhere on his left, upper leg. Unfortunately, the two were closer to each other than he desired, so if she had a way to practically ignore his throwing knives, Wade would be left wide open. Even worse, he wouldn't have time to charge for another attack yet, and with his opponent clearly wanting to go on the offensive, he might not get the chance again. Lastly, if she had the chance to speak, Wade would reply. "Heh, it's fun when you're the one doing the breaking."

As stated, Robyn had been watching Wade carefully for any attacks, especially considering he had knives in his hands. When he moved to throw them, her eyes glimmered for a second, as if light had been reflected off them. The one aimed for her arm was easy, the fox girl hurriedly raised her hand off her dagger, putting it palm out in the way of the knife. Surprisingly, it simply hit her gloved palm and bounced back, no sound indicated as it would have if it had hit metal or something extremely hard. She did shake her hand slightly after, still having felt the impact against it.

What happened next would be extremely odd, though. In the same motion as her block, she appeared to jerk her left side back out of the way so quickly her form actually blurred...but something must have gone wrong with whatever she did, because then it snapped back to the stance she'd been in before, letting out a yelp of pain at the blade now buried in her thigh. Her left hand went down to brace her leg as it buckled slightly, blood trickling out and smearing her palm.

The fox girl glared at him, fangs bared as she swiftly drew her right hand dagger, unless he interrupted that movement again. Her leg was shaking though, she didn't look too steady.

That's right. Look at me, I'm hurt, you b*****d, come on, see, I can't move right... Robyn mentally yelled at Wade, willing him to step closer to take his "advantage" as she focused her energy. It was annoying, keeping her attention split like that. There was a lot involved with a wound, she had to keep in mind how the blood fell, how the knife would move with her leg, having her body shake like that when she was really quite steady. Not to mention having covered up the sound of the blade when it had hit the pavement behind her, and still keeping it invisible so he wouldn't know it had missed.

Quote:
-Illusionary Confusion: Creates distracting illusions, usually doppelgangers of herself. They are identical to the original, complete with scent and body heat (in the case of the living), and/but any and all illusions have her aura surrounding them, making it most useful for copies of herself. The only exception is that they have no physical tangibility (can’t be touched). If touched in any way, the object will move through the illusion, with no effect on either party. They can/do seem to act with the environment around them, ie: kicking up dust, leaving an imprint in soft material. However, this is only an extension of the illusion. She has to split her attention between any and all copies, no matter the size or form, and if her concentration is broken, usually by pain, all illusions disappear. The concentration required only allows her to make one, maybe 2 copies in a fight, up to 6 outside, as long as they are not moving around much. When used, the copy of the object/person being copied is placed wherever she wants it, even overlapping/covering another object/person.
