I think the anthem of the 90's was Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. The reason why when I remember the 90's it was all about grunge, punk, and teen axient. xp Miss those days crying .

SLTS is a great anthem. I hate how overplayed it was though, mainly because some people dislike it just because of that. Angry Chair by Alice In Chains is also a good anthem IMO.

Ya I hate how it's over played. Kurt didn't want to be remembered for that song. Well you know what he didn't want to be remembered at all.

Smells Like Ten Spirit is a good song. BUT IT'S OVER PLAYED. Dx I wish some thing from Bleach would be played on the radio for once.
I also think Them Bones by Alice In Chains is a good 90's anthem.

Smells Like Teen Spirit was deffinately the anthem and it opened up the door for tons of other great bands with some similar messages.

Personally, I tihnk its 'Know your Enemy' by Rage Against the Machine: it symbolises the political turmoil of the early 90s, the move back to Punk Roots, and the revolutionary change to music personified in both Rock and Hip Hop circles. Remember, more happened in music than Grunge...
(grunges awesomeness duly noted)

nirvana1221 i def. agree that SLTS is overplayed. but it def. had an impact on grunge music and nirvana. Ii didn't just have an inpact on grunge and NIRVANA, it had an inpact on how that generation viewed music.

I've got one thing to say...
"I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down."
Oh, Chumbawamba.
