surprised I am a fan of Fushigi yuugi for about 5 years and many say fushigi yuugi is a hentai but i really don't believe them.. for me it's category should be in "romance"!!!! What do you think? am i wrong or they are the ones saying things they really do not know...

z0mg... no way! Fushigi Yuugi is NOT a hentai. I mean...have you ever actually seen a hentai? It has explicit Rated X for sexual content. Many of them don't even have plots!
Fushigi Yuugi, in fact, does have mature content, though. The fact that it has rape, partial nudity, and sexual content (which does not actually show the act of intercourse) makes it mature content.
Hentai is all like...NUDITY and INTERCOURSE like...throughout a good bit of the show. O.o
So...comparing Fushigi Yuugi to a hentai is not kosher. *nod, nod* Its story is like a mature version of Sailor Moon, nee? ^^

yeah, fushigi yugi is like a soap opera (like passions, or days of our lives). Yeah, theirs some graphic scenes, but it's not that bad (i know how you feel, i got harrassed about that last year at school, it was so bad, i ended up throwing a book at the guy who was being rude)

Hentai=Anime/Japanese Porn.
Fushugi Yuugi would NOT all into the Hentai category. It would fall into the Romance category...to me anyway.
Note: It has some mature content, but isnt fully. That's why it doesn't fall into the Hentai category.

I say that FY is a great romance. If there are people saying that it is hentai then they are the most prudish kind of people to ever exist. It's not like it couldn't be, but it isn't. That's that.

Hentai? No. One vague sex scene does not make a hentai. Hentai is merely animated porn. Fushigi Yugi is a fantasy romance. True porn just has a enough plot to make all the sex plausible. True romance has just enough sex to make the plot enjoyable. Sex doesn't dominate the plot like it would in porn/hentai.
