Yes, I know that "Lilith Rae" is not my username, nor is it my real name. I happens to the be the pen name I'm hoping to use in the future if I ever get anything published (it sound cooler than my real name anyway!)
Yeah, not completely sure what to put down for these, but I really want to finish the entire list, so, I'm just going to write insanely short mini stories (more like short cut outs from made-up-on-the-spot story lines that I may or may not use later.) Hopefully that's cool for everyone, so....off I go!
Updates: (Feb 21st) I've decided to set my shorts up to follow the life of a character I just made up while writing the first day's short. Her name is Mahri, she's 18, a senior in high school (at the beginning of the list,) and will probably end up experiencing some very weird things over the next year. The cause of this will be both the prompt list and my own crazy, fantasy filled imagination. It will basically just be a series of shorts based on her day to day experiences built off the prompts list. So, I hope you all enjoy her story!
Notes: (Feb 22nd) Up through prompt 7, but still need to type them up (will post later but cross out now)
Any questions, concerns, and comments would be greatly appreciated, especially if they were PMed to me instead of posted here. Thank you.

Day #1 Tuesday, January 1st, 2012 “New Beginnings”
It was time for a fresh start, a new beginning, and it was the perfect time to hit that reset button. January first, 12:01 AM. Time to apply those resolutions you've been coming up with for the last week. But it wasn't something so simple to change like “give up candy and soda” or “lose some weight,” it was a lot more serious than that. At least it was for Mahri. She normally seemed so strong to others, but no one knew that she secretly had wanted to die for years now, and was just too scared to do anything about it.
“I promise to like myself more this year,” she whispered into her gloves, standing among a small crowd of people gathered for the occasion. She was waiting for them to stop making such a fuss so she could clear out and head to someplace warmer. The only reason she came out here in the first place was because she wanted to make her resolution seem a little more official.
It really was just like a new beginning for her. She'd just moved out of her troubled home to live in an apartment nearby. A new job, new friends, and an entirely new lifestyle were headed her way. She wouldn't let these opportunities pass her by just because of her self-esteem problem.
Mahri took a deep breath in, blew it out, and turned on her heels. She walked away from that bank clock where all the people had gathered with a new determination. She would like herself better this year, because she now knew she had a better future to hope and strive for.

Day #2 Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013 “Cause/Effect”
Everything you do effects someone else and their lives and your own as well. Mahri had just learned this the hard way. Not like she didn't know it before, but reality just felt she needed another knock to the head, just to make sure she had it down right.
She was just walking to work, since her boss decided that because the 2nd was a Wednesday, that she'd start her at her new job right away. Not like Mahri minded, she needed the money anyway. But here she was, just minding her own business, walking down the street, when someone bumped into her. She hopped out of their way, and slipped on the ice right at the corner, which sent her flying into the street. A car proceeded to skid out of her way and straight into a street light pole. That fell over and nearly hit a few more people's cars, and then ended up causing enough damage to known out the light for up to a week, or so said the electrician who came to check out the damage done to the light later that day.
Luckily, no one was hurt. The cops actually had appeared on the scene right when the first car crashed. Instead of arriving to help the victims, they were after an escaped prisoner from the nearby county jail, which happened to be the same person who had just bumped into Mahri on the street corner. The person, a middle aged man, had fallen over also when he'd bumped into her, and if they hadn't collided, he wouldn't have fallen and would have escaped. Even if the crash wouldn't have happened, the guy who would have escaped would have probably committed more crimes before he was caught again. Mahri learned of all this when she was taken down to the police station for questioning about the event.
So Mahri thought on her way out, would that mean I should be more careful when walking, or shouldn't I?

Day #3 Thursday, January 3rd, 2013 “Peace of Mind”
Peace of mind was something Mahri was having a hard time achieving lately. It was her second day of her new job, and she didn't even know if she could keep up with it. They only could take so many people, and if she didn't catch up quick, she might get canned. She didn't really have it at all at home either. Her new apartment wasn't exactly in an ideal location, but it was the best that the local homeless service could attain for her. There was a lock on the entrance, and one on her own apartment's front door, but there had been break-ins before. She didn't feel the best about that train of thought either. So, she tried to make her own peace of mind.
After work that Thursday, she went out to pick up some kind of device that she could use to defend herself, just in case. She settled for a baseball bat and moved on. Just to be safe, if she was sleeping or something, she also found a cheap home security system to set up at her front door. With all of her extra money for the week spent, she went home to set it all up.
An hour and a few false alarms later, she had the security system set up and the bat hiding under her bed for easy access at night.
“Peace of mind? Ha! I can make it myself with my pocket change!” she said to little fox plushy, mainly for lack of anyone else to say it to. Even though it was just brave words, she did feel a little safer at her new home, and her mind finally calmed down enough for her to get the best sleep she'd gotten since moving in.

Day #4 Friday, January 4th, 2013 “Childhood Memories”
Mahri didn't have work that Friday. Normally her job didn't require so many people to work on Fridays as during the week, and even though Mahri had just started, the Friday shifts had already been decided, so she got her first Friday off. Not knowing what else to do, she chose to sleep in. While she slept, she dreamed.
She dreamed of her childhood, something she didn't often like revisiting. Her family troubles didn't really begin until she turned thirteen, so her early childhood memories weren't as bad. That didn't mean she still didn't like revisiting them.
Her best memories were of the trips that her family took to her father's friend's cabin in the woods. With all that nature surrounding her, she felt like she could really breathe. The best part of that, though, was all the things that her family did together out there. Things like swimming in the nearby lake and canoeing upriver to explore the little island not too far away, which never got boring no matter how many times they went.
Four-wheeling through the forest, feeling the wind blowing through her hair and seeing the trees zip by. Walking out to her favorite little spot in the woods, which was right under a huge willow tree, and just lying under it, watching the sunlight stream through the leaves and branches and down upon her. It would warm her skin just enough for comfort, even in the heat of summer or the cooling fall.
The dream went through all of this, and right when she fell asleep under that willow tree, she woke up back in her bed in her cold apartment, still locked in the frozen dead of winter.
She sat up in bed, thinking over all the bad memories she'd had since then.
“What on Earth am I thinking of....” she said to herself, plucking her fox from it's hiding place in the blankets and hugging it tight to her chest, “None of that is coming back....”

Day #5 Saturday, January 5th, 2013 “Speed”
Saturday, Mahri's favorite day of the week. No work, no responsibilities, and no chores, because she'd finished it all on Friday and would do it again on Sunday. She didn't even really bother getting dressed until noon, and even then all she did was plop down on the couch to watch what limited channels she had on her old, junky TV.
After zipping through all her twelve channels several times, she settled on the local cable network and its documentary series on science subjects. Today's episode was on speed, specifically, the speed of light, and what else besides light could travel that fast or faster.
It explained how fast light traveled, and how that, if the speed of light was attained, space travel would become insanely easy compared to what it is today.
Mahri sat through the whole thing, hoping to learn a few things she could apply to her general science class in school. AT the very end, it said that if the speed of light was reached, or even broken, time travel could even be possible. She scoffed at the TV and turned it off.
“There's no way that could happen!” she said. She got up and went to her mini kitchen to get something to drink. While guzzling her orange juice, thinking about how she would have to do dishes later...again, she saw something move outside her window.
“That's weird, I'm on the third floor,” she said to no one in particular, setting her glass down and stepping up to the window to look for whatever it was.
She looked around, then saw it. A person in a white jump suit, distinctly female, and equally human, floating on what looked like a hoverboard just outside her window! The woman looked around, completely missing Mahri gaping through her kitchen window, then tapped a button on a bracelet around her wrist and completely disappeared!
“Whoa!” Mahri yelled, jumping back from her window. She tripped over the edge of the carpeting that started from her living room and landed right on her butt, still startled from her sighting. She looked back to the TV. It now seemed like some sort of strange device not from this world, almost like it would jump up and scream at her if she looked away. She stared at it for awhile, then, satisfied that it wouldn't try and attack her, got up and ignored it for the rest of the day.
