Hi. I missed a day's worth of doses of Neurontin, because I forgot to pick it up from the store, when i left my refillable bottle earlier that day. That night I had the worst paranoia and anxiety that I've had in awhile. And the next morning (and I didn't have it to take it this morning either) I was feeling very anxious. Luckily I was scheduled to see the doctor that day. He told me to take only half the day at the partial hospitalization program, so I could go home and pick it up from the drug store and start taking it again right then. He said something about some withdrawal as a result of me not taking it.
Has anyone else been taking this for anxiety and had the same problem?

How long have you been taking it? It is very odd for someone to have withdrawls from such a medicine after one day. It gets built up into your system to keep you running even if you do miss a dose. If not you wouldn't have to take it everyday.
At leaset that is what I have been told time and time again.

Depends on the medication I guess. I know one med I'm on is supposed to have more instant an effect than others like Wellbutrin, which I'm also taking. Anyway the doctor did say there may be some withdrawal and I did read on the net somewhere where someone had gone off of it for only a little while and it was hell.

That is saddening. I actually forgot to take my Seroquel twice in a row...but I feel better...Amazzzinggg!
I hope you figure it out. I hate the games that we all have to play with medications...

i haven't taken that medication and im not sure about its effects on people but the doctor might be right your body system may have been so ussed to haveing that certain medication put into it that now that its gone its increasing your anxiety in order to get some more of that medication the body wants... you should ask your doctor to see if theres a way to reduce the amount of medication slowly so that you can steadly bring your body to normal to the point where you can stop the medication without the effects happening.
