Jordan looked himself over in the mirror one last time to make sure he looked good for tonight. He was taking AJ on an official date tonight; their first really. He was wearing a dark red button down shirt and navy blue slacks. He had his hair pulled back at the base of his neck, instead of wearing loose like he normally did. He decided he liked what he saw, grabbed his wallet and the package that held a stuffed unicorn that he bought for AJ, and headed out the door.
He arrived at AJ's a little before 6pm. He checked, again, to make sure he was ready for tonight, then knocked on the door and waited. He hoped AJ would enjoy tonight and that he would like the restaurant that they were going to. Jordan had never done something like this before, since AJ was his first real boyfriend, and wanted everything to go well.

Aj tapped his chin as he stood in front of a mirror, he frowned as he wasn't sure what to wear. He was so used to just wearing shorts and that was it, but he couldn't go out in just shorts. He sighs as he rushed around to get ready. He then decided to just throw on something functional and comfortable. He smoothed down the wrinkles in his white short sleeve dress shirt and smoothed down his pants before checking himself in the mirror.
He nodded his head in approval at himself before going to the door and opening it. He blinked and smiled as the image of his boyfriend came into view. He looked him over "well, you look dashingly handsome". He put in and opened the door fully.

Jordan returned AJ's smile with one of his own. "Thank you, but I pale in comparison to you. You look amazing, love. I don't think I've ever seen you so dressed up before. I like it." He leaned in and gave AJ a quick kiss. "I have a surprise for you." He stepped back and held out the package he was carrying to the UniMer. "I saw this earlier and thought you might like it, so I got it. I hope you like it."

"That's because i don't usually dress up, im usually in shorts and shirtless just in case i need to jump into the water, since i do have mer genes in me" he said, but he was pretty certain his boyfriend already knew this since he did have fins.
He blinked and glanced down at the package jordan held out "oh, you didn't have to get me anything if you didn't want to" he said before taking the package from his boyfriend and opening it, he smiled as a unicorn plush started to peep through the wrapping, he gasped and hugged his boyfriend "oh thank you Jordan, i love it" he said giving it a light snuggle.

"And have I ever told you that I love the fact that you don't often wear shirts? Because I do." He grinned and winked as he said that to AJ. Who wouldn't enjoy seeing their boyfriend half naked all the time?
"I know I didn't have to, but I wanted to. This is a date and I wanted to get you something. Flowers seemed a bit to cheesy and then I saw this and it was perfect." Jordan hugged AJ back, smiling brightly. "You're very welcome. I'm so happy you like it! I was worried you might think it was lame or too sappy since it's a unicorn."

AJ smile as he was hugged and grin "no you haven't told me that. I bet you enjoy seeing me wearing short shorts too" he answered with a wink as well. Oh god, the idea of him being fully clothed was so uncomfortable for him, he was grateful he had chosen a shirt that wasn't too restricting, if he had a choice he would go out shirtless and in shorts. He was hoping he would survive the evening without wanting to jump into the water.
This was a big day for them their first actual date with the two of them spending some time with each other in the evening. They hadn't actually done anything like a dinner date in awhile. He gave the unicorn a last snuggle before running inside and placing it on the couch he patted its head and went back to the door "alright, ready? Lets go!" He said cheerfully.

"Mmhmm. I very much like you in your short shorts especially when it's combined with your lack of shirt." Jordan grinned again. AJ was a beautiful anthro and he loved that AJ was so comfortable walking around in practically nothing. "I hope you aren't too uncomfortable." He commented, realizing that his boyfriend didn't usually wear so much.
Jordan laughed and stepped back from the door, so that AJ could shut it and lock up. He held out his hand to the other when AJ was ready to go. "Yeah, I'm ready when you are, love."

Aj thought for a moment before answering "well, i am slightly uncomfortable because i don't usually wear so much but i will be okay,i'll jusz undress when we get home" he said with a small smirk. Locking the door behind him and taking his boyfriend's hand.
He nodded his head "yes, im ready" he said "also excited im looking forward to this night" he said and kissed his boyfriend on the cheek.

Jordan squeezed AJ's hand and shook his head. "You're horrible, you know that?" The teasing was evident in his tone. "I am glad you will be okay, though. I would hate it if you were uncomfortable."
Jordan started off towards the restaurant, holding his boyfriend's hand and keeping a relaxed pace. There wasn't any need to rush. "I'm excited as well. I don't know why we hadn't done this sooner."

AJ chuckles lightly "Horrible in a good way, bad or in adorably cute way" he said lightly using his other hand to walk his fingers up his forearm. He adjusted his shirt and blew out a exasperated breath. "remind me next time we do something like this we stay in so I'm not so uncomfortable" he put in.
He skipped along lightly beside him to keep pace with his boyfriend "So what restaurant are we going to?" he asked in the most cutest way he could. He lightly squeezed his boyfriend's hand happily.

Jordan shivered. "Horrible in a good way and in an adorable cute way." He nodded. "I will keep that in mind for next time. Although, we'd have to order in, since I can't cook, unless you can cook. In that case, you are more than welcome to cook. I never say no to a good, home cooked meal."
"You are too adorable." Jordan kissed the top of AJ's head. "We are going to Giovanni's. It's not too far from here and it looked like it had a nice spread of choices."
(I just made up a place, we can change it you have a specific place in mind)

AJ grins "you have to have to admit, you enjoy me being cute" he told him with another smile. "Hey..if you look on the bright side, if we stayed in you would see me wandering around shirtless and in shorts" he said with another mischievous smile. "I actually don't know how to cook, so we would have to order in" he said thinking about.
Before tilting his head to the side "I don't think I've been there before, it sounds italian" he said thinking about it a bit. "Italian, is always good" he put in. "Though..trying different foods is always good too" he told him.He swished his tail to and fro "What are we going to do after dinner?" he asked

"I don't know. It makes me think you are up to something." He smiles at his boyfriend. "I'm liking this staying in plan more and more. What would you want to order in, when we do this." He asked.
"I've never been there either, but it got good reviews. And yeah, it's italian, but it has a few other things as well. So you could try something new and something old if you wanted to." He explained to AJ.

AJ thinks about it "We could order a bunch of things, Like exotic cultures like Chinese,India, Or the typical Pizza!!" he said before stopping and jumping in front of Jordan and kisses him on the lips. "teehee.." he said and skips down the sidewalk towards the restaurant. "there are lots of cultural food we can try when we stay in" he put in.
He thinks about it "Well, that is always a good idea..but trying something new makes our taste buds a chance to try new foods other then the typical diet." he said. His diet consisted a mix of fish and fruits or whatever unicorns ate. Though typical unicorns ate grass and hay but he he didn't find either of those appetizing. So he never actually ate it.

"That sounds like a good plan. We can get a mix of all of those things, including the pizza. That way we can try different things and have a fall back on something we know we like." Jordan kissed AJ back and chuckled as his boyfriend skipped off. "Don't get too far ahead, love."
Jordan attempted to catch up with the unimer. "That's true. And you'd be amazed at what a new diet can do for you. Some foods out there that don't sound good turn out to be amazing! I hope this place is as good as it seems."
