I still need to buy myself another Strider unit and a Deathstalker attachment, but then I'll be done! emotion_kirakira
And also I might get myself an airbrush system... That might help me paint faster, if I can cover large areas (like beast bodies) and doing a LOT of areas super fast (like faces), rather than painting it by hand.

Very nice! My Cryx army is coming along.
I want to get an air brush, but I really don't need one so I can't justify the hundreds needed to get a good one.

Yeah... It sucks for sure. But at least if you treat it well, it WILL last you for ever. And the nice thing is that some hobby shops do have some cheaper kits, so that's always an option, and things like ebay or craigslist might have cheaper/used compressors.

My main problem would be constantly buying all of the painters puddy needed to keep certain areas paint free. Specially after shoveling out a s**t ton of cash to buy am air brush. It would be cool to get one though. I love the effects you can get with one.

I'm thinking I could just use a kneadable eraser for the areas I want to keep clean.
I dunno how well it would work, but it's cheap and moldable. Worth a shot, if I DO get an airbrush. xD It's questionable at this point... and certainly wouldn't happen for a while. >_>

Didn't think of that. Gotta find some really cheap ones because those'll probably harden pretty quick with all the paint they'd be absorbing.

Oh, true... Hm.
-rubs chin- I'm not entirely sure what else might work. I guess frisket film might work as well, to an extent.

Painter's tape might work, but I'm hesitant to try on one of my models.

I suppose if you varnished the model first to seal the under layers first, and then used the tape?

Hair spray should actually work really well. I've seen someone take a paper clip's end to a model and the hair spray protected the layer it was meant to (an extreme weather technique). Didn't even think of that until just now.

An extreme weather technique? How so? I've always steered away from hairspray because in drawing, hairspray can be used as a fixative, but usually as a super-cheap option since it's not acid-free.
But yeah.. never tried it on models. How does it go?

I want to try this out, but it's not part of the aesthetic in my current Cryx army.

Oh WOW. emotion_jawdrop
I dunno if I'll ever do rust in any of my armies, but man that's so cool!

Yeah, there are a lot of really cool tutorials on youtube. It's where I learned how to make the bamboo stalks that I use to make my Cryx wetland/swamp/river bank themed.
