Yamika slipped from tree to tree in the early evening gloom of the forest. It was brighter outside of the trees, but she was in a area where the branches of each of the trees were touching, and so it was darker under them.

She too looked a great deal darker, but she was a moving shadow even during the brightest of summer days, only the white 'socks' of her fetlocks showing up when she had a mind to hide herself amongst the foliage.

It had been a lovely spring day; everything was beginning to bloom, the days were warmer, and there was the usual feeling of new beginnings everywhere that she looked and went. She didn't feel it though, it was hard to feel anything when you were outcast, when you had no home to return to, and more tellingly, no one to call your own. This was the time of year that she felt the greatest urge for family..and for a mate and children, though as before she knew she would likely end up just stuffing the feelings deep down and trying not to think of all that she didn't have.

It was with these thoughts pressing on her that she moved deeper into the forest, looking for somewhere to pass the night. She kept on the move as much as possible, staying out of the way of herds, and especially anything even remotely Kalona-shaped in case it was her mother or someone who knew her. She clipped around some bushes, and stopped, letting the noise die down and listening before she headed any further, her pale lilac eyes searching the forest depths, her ears pricked as she stood stock still, only her wispy form betraying any movement, her outline gently blurring as her faintly smokelike form slowly drifted.

She had thought she had heard movement..
