well, this was sparked by the post's every other page in some threads quoting song lyrics. I though it might make for and interesting game.. Becasue I bet if you look you will find satanistic philosophy in songs by people who would cringe if they knew.
Hell, I found it on a poster in the principal's office of my school. "Respect is not a gift, you have to earn it." Whatever happened to "respect everyone"?... or did they give in and burn all those thousands of copies of the school creed, and the 'inspirational' posters?

EX sad though this is proabbaly a bad example, as I'm sure Greenday knew exactly what they were talking about...)

I pledge allegiance to the underworld
One nation under dog
There of which I stand alone
A face in the crowd
Unsung, against the mold
Without a doubt
Singled out
The only way I know

I want to be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I want to be the minority

Stepped out of the line
Like a sheep runs from the herd
Marching out of time
To my own beat now
The only way I know

One light, one mind
Flashing in the dark
Blinded by the silence of a thousand broken hearts
"For crying out loud" she screamed unto me
A free for all <******** 'em all
You are your own sight

I want to be the minority
I don't need your authority
Down with the moral majority
'Cause I want to be the minority

Plenty of songs have somewhat Satanic meaning, whether the artist intends for it or not. Usually the later.

The... only "satanic" musicians I can think of off the top of my head are/were Anton LaVey, Marilyn Manson, and LeRue Delashay...

I would consider a lot of songs Satanic, just as I would consider some people who are likely unaware of the name of the philosophy that completely describes the way they seem to approach life. Such songs aren't quite as... eh, blatant as Greenday's... If you're looking for that "hail the dark master!!!111one" rubbish, the world of Death Metal is where to go... If you're looking for a philosophical message, which is attributed to both theistic and atheistic Satanism, you can find a message in almost any song...

Like... Oh, I dunno...

EE Jump's "Ikina Rythm"
Hikaru Utada's "Keep Tryin'"
Tokio Hotel's "Schrei"
etc...

Think this qualifies as Satanic? Off topic.

Wonder and wait as I stare at the cross,
Thinking in ways that have Christ at a loss,
Kick your a** out through the lord's pearly gates,
When heaven burns and engulfed into flame.
Blasphemes villain, the killings begin,
Murdering Christians and torturing them,
Conquering churches and slaughtering lambs,
Doing it all for my love of Satan... (I love you Satan, my lord)
Bring death to your god; tear apart his begotten son,
Christian you are dead, ******** kill every one of them,
Drop down in defeat, retribution of hypocrisy,
In life is unknown, after here I will own your soul.
Death to god banished and burned to incite the invert,
Blasphemy.... When heavens burns we inherit the earth,
No more lies, churches and crosses confusing the mind,

Agony watching them burn in their righteous empire,
When heaven burns I will dance in its fire!!!!!!!
Drop dead hyraces, paradise has begun to bleed,
Give praise to the lord, over run in the face of war,
Christian wait with death, heaven burns into nothingness.
Satan on his throne rejoice in returning home.
End of god, when heaven burns it will fall to the earth,
Watch it burn angels on fire and screaming berserk,
Holy ghost, lost in confusion and puking in pain,
When it burns pissing on prophets that fall to the flame.

Wonder and wait as I stare at the cross,
Thinking in ways that have Christ at a loss,
Kick your a** out through the lord's pearly gates,
When heaven burns I will stomp on his face.
Blasphemes villains, the killings begin,
Murdering Christians and torturing them,
Conquering churches and slaughtering lambs,
Doing it all for my love of Satan.

"I Stand Alone" by Godsmack strikes me as being somewhat Satanic, though more in the refrain ("I stand alone inside" ad nauseum) and just the first verse:

Quote:

I've told you this once before
Can't control me
If you try to take me down
You're gonna break
I feel your every "nothing" that you're doing for me
I'm thinking you ought to make your own way

And I know quoting Godsmack makes me a tool. I don't really care. biggrin I've always thought of them as being a very Satanic-sounding group, though. I will have to think harder of purely unintentional nods to the Dark Lord himself. whee

Oh, I too noticed some Satanic philosophy in the lyrics of some Godsmack songs... Can't think of any specific songs off the top of my head though...

I've actually successfully used "I ******** Hate You" as part of a curse-working. 3nodding Encapsulated exactly how I felt to a T.

I dunno, I like 'em. I recognize that they're not particularly popular with metal/rock/whatever they're supposed to be fans, but oh well. As is evidenced by all of my oasis and ABBA albums, my taste in music would be considered pretty shitty by most people's standards. =P

um, what is it called when you use music as an energy booster or help for focusing. its really interesting how you can do that to change your mood and energy levels so fast, or its just me being stupid again sweatdrop
oh in my opinion Amy Lee rocks, and Korn, oh Disturbed smile

@kage5- I suppose just as music can change a person's mood (as evident in any supposed horror film), music could potentially alter apeson's energies just as easily. Seeing as any workings are based off of the emotion put into it, any external stimuli would only amplify the effect, if you are able to find a song that suits your needs.

godsmack, or at least their lead singer, was once christian. however, like myself, they began to notice the blatant inconsistencies and lies spread throughout the bible. i dont think they're satanic, but they are anti-christian, like myself.

Bob marley has one line from one song that stikes me as totally satanic, in "redemtion Song" he says "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery."

even thogh bob was hardcore rasta.

Being "anti" anything seems to be a bit overwhelming to me. By hating it and wasting energy on it it feels like you're giving it power instead of taking it away. That's just my two cents though, and to each their own. I've noticed varying posts in the guild and thats what makes this such a good guild.

I do have to add, for DR490N's pleasure the blatantly obvious song "Stromblast" by Dimmu Borgir.

Svake kristne! Do i natt! Jeg skal flerre din sjel i to!
"Weak Christian! Die tonight! I will tear your soul to shreds!"

Ehehe. :3

Oasis and ABBA are NOT bad groups. I like both of them a lot.

I was listening to Slipknot's "Before I Forget" and the chorus kinda made me think.

Slipknot's 'Before I Forget' Chorus
I am a worm before I am a man
I was a creature before I could stand
I will remember before I forget
BEFORE I FORGET THAT!

That would be Satanist in a way, would it not?

Because of carnal instinct and never forgetting past orthodoxies.
