So a couple days ago i entered a taekwondo tournament. i spent 5 hours waiting for my fight and coaching some of the lower ranked members. To my surprise i was put up against a 6'5 250 pound guy (just to know i'm 5'8 and 180 pounds) yes i lost that fight but i think i fought well. I almost had him in the last ten seconds with a hook kick xd im not making this to brag, just to make conversation

Unbeatable Noob So a couple days ago i entered a taekwondo tournament. i spent 5 hours waiting for my fight and coaching some of the lower ranked members. To my surprise i was put up against a 6'5 250 pound guy (just to know i'm 5'8 and 180 pounds) yes i lost that fight but i think i fought well. I almost had him in the last ten seconds with a hook kick xd im not making this to brag, just to make conversation I always find that competition arts have a distinct advantage towards a certain body build or training style. Back (way long ago in the before time) when i participated in traditional karate tournaments (and tachi fights) i found that it could be overwhelming when they had such an body on you (mind you im 5'2 107lbs). It does, however, not truly dictate the performance of your art or your martial ability. Keep training, and use these bouts to train your distance, timing, and combinations, but be mindful there are other training methods out there
