For the school's opening of a new building, I got picked to do a chem experiment as a demonstration.
It's making black carbon from sucrose and sulfuric acid...so I want to make it more interesting without it threatening the viewers, any ideas? No I'm not going to make a muk.

lol I have no idea.
Is there a way to make it colourful without threatening the viewers' or your own safety?
I think that anything generally involving fire is viewed as super entertaining by the general public.
Idk though, your idea sound pretty cool.

Maybe if I color dyed the sugar it end up blue? O.o
I'll ask to see if I can or can't have like...a competition between colors XD

Sounds great.
I made coloured salt by adding food colouring, stirring it and then baking it on low for about an hour to dry it.
Make it about twice as bright as you need it because the colour fades a bit when it dries.

If the school has some kind of demo safety shield, you could use that for any experiments that involve fire or explosions. It's really not hard to think of flashy Chemistry demos, though. You just need to take the proper safety precautions. I dunno how you'd spice up the one you have in mind, though. I've never done it.

My chem teacher thinks it'll be just fine by how I explain things ._. apparently how I talk can be very...amusing...and might be enough time for my partner to actually do the experiment though were gonna use powdered and brown sugar for it.
And my partner happens to not want to dress up for it v.v
