Do you know the difference between Faith and Hope? Hope means to expect with confidence or trust. Faith is a firm belief in something for which their is no proof. It means to believe and trust in and loyalty to God. Hebrews 11:1 "Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we can not see." Romans 8:23-25 23 Not only the world, but we also have been waiting with pain inside us. We have the Spirit as the first part of God’s promise. So we are waiting for God to finish making us his own children. I mean we are waiting for our bodies to be made free. 24 We were saved to have this hope. If we can see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People don’t hope for something they already have. 25 But we are hoping for something we don’t have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently.
This lets us know that our faith helps us to strive for the things we hope for. Hope is something we are reaching for in the future and gives us a reason to exercise our faith. Our love for God keeps the things we hope for in line with His word. 1 Peter 1:3-9 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God has great mercy, and because of his mercy he gave us a new life. This new life brings us a living hope through Jesus Christ’s resurrection from death. 4 Now we wait to receive the blessings God has for his children. These blessings are kept for you in heaven. They cannot be ruined or be destroyed or lose their beauty. 5 God’s power protects you through your faith, and it keeps you safe until your salvation comes. That salvation is ready to be given to you at the end of time. 6 I know the thought of that is exciting, even if you must suffer through different kinds of troubles for a short time now. 7 These troubles test your faith and prove that it is pure. And such faith is worth more than gold. Gold can be proved to be pure by fire, but gold will ruin. When your faith is proven to be pure, the result will be praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ comes. 8 You have not seen Christ, but still you love him. You can’t see him now, but you believe in him. You are filled with a wonderful and heavenly joy that cannot be explained. 9 Your faith has a goal, and you are reaching that goal—your salvation.
This lets you know that your faith is to be ever growing. It should change and shape you into a better person than you were before. Christ is your hope and your promise for something better, even through troubles and trials. You should be reaching for Him, always. You will have troubles because His word tells you so but that is how faith and hope work together. Hope is born in times of troubles. It is what keeps you going and wakes you up in the morning. Faith is born of knowledge and understanding. Faith is a firm belief even when there is no proof but it is still born from understanding and knowledge. That is why we take a leap of faith. We say that even though we can not physically see God we know He is real. The world around us gives us all the proof we need. Life can not be formed from no life unless God wills it. Faith and Hope work together to strengthen our faith and keep us focused on moving forward. It keep us from giving in and giving up. It tells us that if Christ could endure all He did for us while on Earth, then we can endure anything we may face here on Earth as well.
We must always be on the look out for false teachers. They were back in biblical times and they are here today. The only way to do that is to stay grounded in the Word. Try as the devil may, he cannot defeat a child of God who knows the word. 1 John 5:4 4 because everyone who is a child of God has the power to win against the world. Matthew 7:15-20 15 “Be careful of false prophets. They come to you and look gentle like sheep. But they are really dangerous like wolves. 16 You will know these people because of what they do. Good things don’t come from people who are bad, just as grapes don’t come from thornbushes, and figs don’t come from thorny weeds. 17 In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, and bad trees produce bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 You will know these false people by what they do.
Remember Christ is our hope because He is our salvation, He changes our hearts, and we will share in His future glory. Hope, love and faith keep us strong in the Lord, so we have purpose and direction. Knowledge and wisdom in the word keep us from being deceived.
Romans 5:1-5 (Easy-to-Read Version) 5 We have been made right with God because of our faith. So we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through our faith, Christ has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are very happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory. 3 And we are also happy with the troubles we have. Why are we happy with troubles? Because we know that these troubles make us more patient. 4 And this patience is proof that we are strong. And this proof gives us hope. 5 And this hope will never disappoint us. We know this because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts through the Holy Spirit he gave us.

I liked this Iamlost4ever. It's kinda like the difference between Psalms and Proverbs.
Psalms tell ya how to get along with God in a relationship with Him, and Proverbs tells ya how to get along with others in any type of a relationship.
Believe it or not, I heard a Baptist preacher from Atlanta say that on a radio show.

This was a very nice piece that you put together maam. Thank you, I enjoyed it very much.
A few other verses about being FAITHFUL, Rev. 1:5, Rev. 2:10, Rev. 19:11.
About FAITH; Matt. 17:20, Luke 17:5, Romans 5:1 and Romans 10:17 (the best in my opinion.) Hebrews 12:2.
I will let you who read this explore God's wisdom from the pages of The Holy Bible to read and learn these scriptures; they are some good ones I will admit.
May the Lord continue to bless, watch over and guide, direct and protect you and your familys in all that you do for the Lord.
Your brother in Christ, T.S.K.

Love - Romans 10:17 So then faith, cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. As well as Romans 10:6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? What is, to bring Christ down from above smile 10:7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? That is, to bring up Christ from the dead.) 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed, 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek; for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Good stuff, very good stuff indeed. Your brother in Christ Jesus, The Hawk - Philip D/D L.

Remember that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing of the Word of God! (Side note-Where have you been my friend? It seems that you went M.I.A. shortly after posting this thread. Is every thing alright? Is there any thing that I can do or we as a guild can do for you? Any silent prayers to be mentioned for the 'Prayer Warrior Team to uplift you and you're family in? Please reply when possible. You're brother in the Lord, The Hawk.)

Sorry for being MIA but we (my family and I ) have been extremely busy getting the church ready for an event (two members were being made deacons) and on top of the work that needed done at the church, 7 baby skunks moved in to the ground the church owns. It was a good day at the church (the event was yesterday) but today has not been a good day. It has been a day that makes me want to find a new church. We put a lot of work in at the church. We caught and relocated the skunks, take care of all the yard work, helped put new carpet in, new outside lights, painted, and so on. The celebration was yesterday. There was a dinner for everyone and the visiting churches. We were asked and brought soda for the church. After the meal was done and church was over, we took the leftover soda we bought home. It was the first time we ever took any leftover home. Everyone in the church including the Pastor (except us) takes leftovers home all the time whether or not they brought the item. We only took the soda we bought home this time. Normally we tell the Pastor he can have it and he always says thanks and takes it home. Today we got a text from the Pastor asking if we took the soda we bought home. We said yes. He told us that we didn't have a right to take it home because it belonged to the church. Every time we offered him the soda, he never told us that it belonged to the church, he thanked us and took it home with him. He told us this time that things need to be done in order and that we should not take the soda home. When I asked him why then does everyone take home all the left overs (including the soda that others bring) he just said that it happens. The whole thing made my family and I feel like we were thieves stealing from the church. I don't understand why we were held to a different standard than even the Pastor and I doubt if we had brought a different kind of soda it would even had been an issue. We are the only ones that buy the kind the Pastor drinks. Before we started buying the soda he likes, he would bring a couple cans of soda just for himself so that he had what he liked. So we took the soda back to the church and sent him a text that it was returned but with no reply from the Pastor. The whole thing seemed very petty over 12 cans of soda. We took it home this time because my birthday is Wednesday and I thought it would be nice to have some soda at the house since money is so tight for us right now. We don't want a fight with the Pastor but my feelings are crushed and I don't want to go back to church now.

It had a picture of porn on their signiture, and that is just some thing we as Christian's in this guild will not tolerate from anyone.
