Usually Cam would have taken to lurking in the forest, hunting lost creatures he could lead astray but not tonight. Tonight he was heading out in to the open plain to admire the clear, night sky.
He had never seen it look so open, so alive and beautiful. He shuffled through the long, thick blades of grass where his family grazed during the day if the weather wasn't too harsh and settled near an out of place rock.
He lowered himself, moving his head upwards to admire the full moon and it's many companions which had yet to make a mark on it's own light.
What are you doing! You should be hunting, hunting for us. Creep, creep, creeping in to the shadows, striking down the weak!
"Not tonight." He stated flatly to the voices, his mouth forming in to a straight, thin line. Not even on a night like this could he have a moments peace from them.
"It's been a dead zone. The only ones around here are my family, Vanya and mute. You should have figured that much, by now." He spoke quietly, softly with the hope he could could enjoy being one in both the darkness and the spot light of the glowing maiden.
Even he knew better than that. The voices didn't take no for an answer... Not even from him.

'How beautiful..' Elisheva breathed, her eyes firmly fixed on the night sky, the luminous orb of the moon and the many twinkling stars dotted around it. She could stay like that all night, her eyes watching the distant lights, making patterns and finding shapes with them but physically it wasn't possible. After a short time her neck started to ache from holding her head in that position and with a regretful noise she looked down again, shaking her head.
As a filly she would likely simply roll on the ground and wiggle onto her back and gaze up that way, but her wings had grown and she was meant to be a lady, though to do so was tempting...maybe if she were nearer home, but out here she only had her wits and wings to keep her safe so she would stay on all four hooves.
Instead she carried on walking, her tail lifted slightly so that the end didn't drag, her eyes and ears alert for anything out and about that night. She moved across the open plain, her hoofsteps muffled by the grass, and stopped once more, tilting her head briefly to look upwards again before taking a look around her. She wasn't sure she was alone out here, in the near distance it seemed like there was a large something..rock or Soquili she couldn't yet tell, and it was with a leisurely pace that she crossed the plain, heading sort of towards it in hopes she could work out what it was.

It was clear Caym wasn't alone in the open plain. Whilst admiring the beautiful night sky, sounds of another had his ears twitching, bringing the presence of the other to his attention.
Eyes falling from the sky, he caught the shadowy figure as it made it's way through the grass. He couldn't make out whether it was a mare or a stallion in the distance but knew that it was a soquili.
Whatever gender it was, didn't matter for he would soon find out for himself. The figure took to making it's way in his direction though it wasn't clear whether they knew he was there or not since he was laid next to the boulder, confiding in it's darker looming shadow.
Before long the details of the stranger were being defined and taking a closer look he made out that it was in fact a mare. A pretty mare. Her clear orbs as bright as the moon under the lilac hues. He smiled more to himself and lifted from the grass to climb back to his hooves.
Standing once more at full height.
Her mane was choppy, shoulder length the only exception being the long strands that hung either side of her face. Tail long, almost trailing across the ground and she had wings. Making for an easy escape.
He gave a sigh.
Why was it always a mare? A pretty mare at that.
He had been making too many exceptions lately. Two was surely enough? One of them still lingering within the maybe zone. He couldn't very well pin down his family as victims... His father a possibility but other than that, he just wouldn't allow it.
"Evening." He finally spoke out, his voice deep, having no problem holding on to it's charming tone.
"I wasn't expecting anyone else to be out here so late at night. Especially not a young, beautiful mare such as yourself." He wandered out from his spot behind the rock and walked slowly towards her stopping short of a few paces.
He dipped his head in the greeting, his old Victorian styled hat slipping from it's perch and with a graceful flick of his head caught it within his mouth. Throwing it back up so that it landed in it's rightful place.

Elisheva had in fact thought that what she had seen was nothing so out of the ordinary as the boulder; her night vision wasn't perfect and the stallion was dark hued so she hadn't been able to pick him out from the shadows.
So when a piece of the shadow detached itself from the rest and stood, she stopped, squinting into the darkness, gauging his size, and indeed trying to work out if he showed any outward signs of being a problem.
'Good evening..' she eventually replied, taking time herself as her ears had caught the sigh he had made, and already she was wondering what that was about. He could have easily stayed hidden and she would have likely just walked on by.
'One should always expect company, no matter what time of the day it is.' she said as she responded to his greeting with bowing motion of her own, amusement tugging at the corners of her mouth at his description of her. Would he comment on her strength and poise if she had been a stallion? Likely not.
'The night is clear and the sky is beautiful. My supposed youth and beauty are no barriers to enjoying either.' the mare replied, eyeing the stallions accoutrements with interest. It was the first time she'd met a Soquili with anything that approached what the two-legged ones called 'clothes'.
'Should I be a fine gentleman as yourself to do so then?'

"Are they not?" Cam's dark blues trained on her. How she held herself and the smirk that was begging to sketch something more upon her lips. "The sky is as clear and as beautiful as any I have seen, so why wouldn't it draw out others who wish to have it's share of admiration?"
A smile danced across his lips in amusement, shaking his head carefully at her words. It had also succeeded in shedding the bangs from his face which he failed to even notice were drowning out his features.
"A fine gentleman?" He couldn't help but laugh. "I wouldn't say that, feel free to try your hand at being a 'fine gentleman' but I think you may hit certain restrictions of nature." He paused a moment, searching her eyes before continuing. "These parts are rather dangerous. Out in the open, you would make quite the easy target and a satisfactory meal for those out for the hunt. I was merely commenting on the basis that those who have the right amount of common sense, would be avoiding said risks."
That they should. Nobody knew what somebody else was capable of. Even those you had known your whole life could still turn around and pull out a surprise. She was a lot smaller than him and he towered the petite mare. How would she hold her own against him? Or someone with a similar stature who was out to cause a problem.
Surely, she couldn't have the ability to fight them off? No matter how much of a daredevil she may of been or as feisty to protect her pride.
"The time of day is a good indicator to the type of company you may be keeping..."

'You were the one that questioned my being out here, so you tell me.' Elisheva replied.
'And it is beautiful, so is that what you were doing also? Admiring the night sky?' she asked, her tone as light as she felt. Although he had been lurking in the shadows, for the moment she felt no fear, or need to be on her guard.
'I could try, though I lack certain..elements.' she said, raising a brow slightly and then laughing. 'I should think I satisfied being a lady - when it is appropiate.'
She almost added when not in the company of her elder sister, but didn't feel it appropiate to speak of her family with someone who was still for all purposes a stranger.
'And I call you a gentleman because it is polite to do so. And for the time being I know nothing else to call you.' she gave a shrug at his comments, rustling her wings as she did so.
'I am not blase about being out alone, merely aware that if I should need to I can escape. I don't wish to miss out on life through fear of it.' she said, offering a small explanation, though she wasn't entirely sure why she should need to explain herself to him.
'Really? In that case, by your own words, you and I both have something to hide.' Elisheva wondered if he was hinting at something about himself, for she had no secrets that kept her to the shadows.

Caym nodded at her words concerning the night sky. "Indeed I was." He paused for a moment and offered her a smile. "Until I spotted you." Mares fell victims to flattery far too easily and it wasn't putting him out of his way to offer her a few compliments whilst they bantered.
Whether it would be accepted or not was a different matter but from what he had heard, it usually wasn't lost on them either.
The next thing that left his lips was laughter as he observed the kick of her eyebrow when it lifted. The mare had a sense of humour, that he could work with unfortunately it wouldn't do her any good in the end, considering he needed to feed the ones tormenting him so he didn't feel the wrath of their screeches.
"It is appropriate, I imagine you suit a lady better than a gentleman." It was up to her how she would take what he had spoke but when it left his mouth, he noted that it could mean something else and gave a light, hopeless shrug at the lack of thought that went in to that one.
"Oh, is that so? My name is Caym Quinn Dupre but you can call me Cam if it is preferred. What might the ladies name be?" He flicked his tail out behind him and flashed a pearly grin her way. Noting that she was always prepared to escape if she needed a swift exit but that taunted a challenge of sorts. How prepared was she really?
"True, we can't live in fear maybe we should embrace it? Be fearless however, some would say that the fearless become monsters. Without fear, you have no boundaries, no line that you can't cross."
He made eye contact with her and gave a gentle laugh. "I'm sure we do, we all have something to hide. I suppose you aren't going to share that with me? It sounded more like a hint."CitrusCupcake Sorry for the wait on this one, RL ate me for a bit. XD

'Fearless?' she echoed, with a twist of her mouth into a half smile at the thought.
'I'm sure I'm far from that. Don't ask me what I am afraid of though, I couldn't put my hoof on it yet, as I have so far not had to face anything that really sent a chill down my spine, or made me worry for my safety.'
She gave a short shrug, her wings rising and settling again with the motion. Her tail swished, the trailing ends rustling along the ground as she did so.
'If I told you, then I would have nothing to hide. And that would negate your assertion that we all have something to hide, and I wouldn't want to do that.' she chuckled, and then responded with her own name.
'Well, my name is Elisheva, no where near as long as your own moniker.' she said with a grin. 'Or Eli. My family members usually calls me that.'
She nodded to the hat he was wearing, and asked the question that she had been wanting to ask since his unusualy greeting. 'Does that not fall off when you run?'

Had she really not sought anything that really ruffled her feathers, had her heels buckling in emotional terror? The thought of the end or something you just couldn't explain even if you tried your best to was lurking around every corner, behind ever tree?
Perhaps this night he could change that, have her really deciding what fear lingers in the depths of her mind, her heart. He eyed her expectantly, a smirk lifting at the corners of his lips. It wasn't an idea he was expecting to encounter tonight but since the opportunity presented itself, he decided to accept the offer given and make use of it's full potential.
He gave a chuckle at her question. "Well Eli, you may just find out. How would you feel about testing something?" He asked, tone casual and unwavering. He narrowed his head to indicate the forest as the topic focus and flashed her an eager grin.
"Do you consider yourself a thrill seeker?" He continued to eye her, to spy any changes in her demeanor as he continued to speak. "Rumors have it, in the deepest, darkest part of the wood explainable disappearances seem to occur. Anyone who enters, never returns."
He rolled his eyes the whole story was rather cliche. "Of course they're only rumors... I can't speak for you but I find myself skeptical. How would you like to find out if they're true?"

'Oh?' she merely replied, wondering what he had in mind. She was quick to find out as she continued to listen to him speak, vaguely amused at what seemed like a slightly theatrical way of putting things.
Elisheva thought carefully before answering. Was she a thrill seeker? She'd never really thought about it. She wasn't so stay at home as some of her sisters, and she definately wanted to see more of the world before she settled down in life.
'In a way I guess.' she finally said, a brow raised, wondering where he had heard such stories.
'Sounds a bit fanciful to me, I would have thought I would have heard something myself if there really were all these disappearances. But I'm game if you are.'

He eyed her for a time, waiting for her answer and if this would be the moment she took to flight but she didn't. Instead she had accepted the offer and he could see that she wasn't a believer. She did put a good point across but, if no one was to ever return, who was there to tell? Other than the poor souls who had lost members of their family to rumour.
He chuckles darkly and carefully turns, looking back over his shoulder at her. "You do surprise me, most mares would have worked themselves in to a panic. Heart fluttering in stuttering refusal. I am quite partial to those who betray the stereotypical damsel in distress." He tips his head in appreciation of her bravery and sets off in to a walk toward the forest.
Turning his head back to the direction he was walking in to eye the border of the forest in question. The night ever growing darker, with only the moon and stars for light. It would be scarcer in the forest and hard to spot pathways. Very easy to get lost and for predators to target the lost souls.
That was to his advantage but was it to hers?
He pauses in his steps and waits for her to play catch up. "After you." He utters quietly, looking to her figure from the corner of his eyes.
