Name: Othien Arastaur (oath-EE-en AIR-ust-arr)
Age: appears to be around 30 years old
Species: Unknown, but often (incorrectly) assumed to be a demon. More likely a mix of several species.
Personality:
Although his appearance is that of a wild man, Othien is actually very civilized as far as manners are concerned, in fact at times there is something even regal about his temperament. He is kind and respectful to most people of whom he has no opinion yet, but never very friendly or warm. He is often very mellow on the surface, but those who know him better can see that his projected calm is a front for the bitterness towards the universe he holds, which seems to be the effect of a long, difficult life, although he withholds any information which would prove this theory.
Bio:
Othien lives in a small, shabby cabin in the far-removed wild of a mostly uninhabited, unnamed forest planet - universe Cinna//5. He has a small number of chickens, sheep, and cattle (used for eggs, wool, and milk, respectively, but never meat) as well as a substantial garden, while his protein is found from hunting both large and small game.
He is the disciple and prophet of Khayethwe (HAI-uh-thway) the spirit of the forest, whose shrine is very near to his home. Other residents of the wild who worship the spirit have described him as her "consort" or "sometimes-husband." He is not very forthright about his life before this point, although he will admit that he is here because he is looking for something.
When he first came to this planet, he had only his staff and the clothes on his back. It is said that he was greatly wounded and that Khayethwe sensed "a great sickness" in him and healed him of his injuries - except for his missing eye which she could not replace - and his illness. In gratitude, he became her most faithful devotee, and renounced his previous identity. He spends much of his time preaching to her followers, and it is because of his devotion to his goddess that he does not suffer the effects of aging, at least not linearly.
What is known about his life before he lived in the forest is that he began studying to be a wizard at a very early age. During his adolescence, Othien decided to begin specializing in storm and weather elemental magic for whatever reason.
These days, when he isn't preaching or gardening, he spends his time digging around the forest for something or studying dark magic, which Khayethwe has tried to get him to give up. He remains convinced that he is not going to use these evil arts for selfish purposes, and that he would never use them for violence.
Powers/Weapons/Skills:
- Storm Magic:
Othien's specialty is storm magic (thunder and lightning, and other weather to a lesser extent). He often summons tempests or harsh winds, as well as bolts of lightning or thunder. Essentially, he holds power over the weather. Resistance to shock.
- Staff:
Othien is capable of using magic without his staff, but using it allows him to channel the energy of the elemental storm spirits which serve Khayathwe. Without his staff, his magic may be just as powerful, but it takes a heavier toll on his mind and body channeling the electricity through his own veins. The staff is old and battered, but the golden baubles which hang from it have been meticulously taken care of and cleaned over the years.
- Dagger:
In a tight spot, Othien is not above removing a hidden dagger from his boot and fighting dirty. He is somewhat skilled with the small blade.
Forest Spirits:

Age: Ageless and eternal
Species: Forest spirit/minor goddess
Personality:
Khaya is the only forest spirit on the planet who bears responsibility for the tribe of humanoid creatures which inhabit their world. She is the most civil and compassionate of her sisters, and is sometimes criticized by the others for the way she spoils her followers. She is the youngest.
Bio:
Khaya is the embodiment of an entire forest, and has existed since the beginning of known time.

- Spirit Magic:
As a forest spirit, Khaya's powers are over life, plants, and lesser animals. Like most spirits, she cannot directly use her magic, and must channel it through a mortal - she often uses elders of the tribe over which she presides.

Name: Wallace Sarkissyan (sarr-KIZ-yen)

Personality:
Wallace is all at once lazy, selfish, narcissistic, instable, and terribly insecure. He has difficulty taking anything seriously - a coping mechanism - and when he does deign to treat a situation with the proper gravity, he is likely to run away from it.
Bio:
Wallace was born to an aristocratic family of Armenian-Martian descent in the universe ƛŊŏşűȡʘ☺♥ (pronounced Nosteran Hatchet). The Sarkissyans were very minor Martian royalty, their house being 33rd in line for the Throne of the Solar Empire, and 10th in line for the Martian Throne.
Wallace was raised on a luxury spacecraft owned by his family which was called the HYT Sevan. The youngest of three brothers, as a child Wallace was spoiled terribly by his mother, but criticized constantly by his father, who never considered anything he did adequate.
Wallace was born with a myriad of physical and mental deficiencies. From the ages of 3 to 7, he underwent rigorous genetic modification and corrective surgery. When his father discovered that this brought Wallace only to average mental/physical capacities for his age, and not higher, he started a notorious lawsuit against the company which performed the procedures.
Although the Sarkissyans' lawyer was the best that money could buy, the suit turned into a true underdog story; the company won, and the legal fees which the Sarkissyans were required to pay started them on a slow financial decline.
From the ages of 7 to 18, Wallace studied under some of the best and brightest minds on Mars - not that this made any impact on him. He was a lazy student, and the only class which he was interested in and excelled in were his sword-fighting lessons. Over the years, the wealth of the family depleted and by the time Wallace was 17, their power on Mars had all but disappeared.
At the age of 17, his father died, making his oldest brother the Lord of House Sarkissyan. This marked the beginning of an era of improvement in the house's prospects.
A month after his 18th birthday, Wallace was to join the Imperial Army and join the fight against the massive, planet-wide rebellion of Jovian peasants, who were attempting to secede from the Solar Empire and had taken control of the planet's capital. Wallace, however, was not keen on the idea of taking part in this particular civil war and deserted. Two weeks later, the rebels were stopped, and all of their leaders were publically executed. The rest were imprisoned, tortured, and brainwashed.
From the ages of 18 to 29, Wallace made a life for himself as a small-time con-artist, going from scam to scam. During this time, he learned that a Martian uprising saw the deaths of all but one ruling house on the planet - his own. Wallace's brother, Lord Sarkissyan (now King Sarkissyan), had secretly organized the uprising in order to seize the Martian throne, and to incur the wrath of the Imperial Army against Martian peasants and secure his power. Wallace's second oldest brother and his children were soon found dead. Accusations were made against King Sarkissyan, but none were confirmed.
From the ages of 29 to 35, Wallace spent much of his time fleeing from bounty hunters and spies which his older brother had sent, trying to find and kill him.
When he was 36, he was stranded on a Venutian space-station when a massive force - composed of barbaric, fringe-human marauders from outside the Solar Empire - invaded the system. On the outside, a bloody battle raged for months, until the marauders were driven out. Many noble houses were wiped out completely, and the population of the empire was nearly halved.
House Sarkissyan, once 33rd in the line of succession, ascended to the Throne of the Solar Empire. King Sarkissyan became Emperor Sarkissyan. Not long after, a peace treaty was signed between the Solar Empire and the Fringe-Humans, solidified by the marriage between the Emperor and the Marauder Queen.
In the following years, the Emperor doubled his efforts to find Wallace, who was forced to go into hiding in another universe. Since then, Wallace has spent his time traveling the multiverse, running short-cons and various get-rich-quick schemes.
Powers/Weapons/Skills:
- Swordsmanship:
Wallace has studied the art of sword-fighting since he was a young lad - he started with the best private tutor his parents could hire. This skill of his is perhaps the only genuine one.
- Confidence Tricks:
Although he is a con-artist by trade, Wallace is still very much an amateur when it comes to scams. He earns a modest living by preying on the naïve and the greedy.

Hur...more religious dirdelks might mistake Khayethwe for one of their own deities if they ever came across her. I like all the spirits though. I'd hate to get on the bad side of any of them.
