Well, I'll get it started. For me (like most here, I'll bet) it began with the discovery of Rammstein. Then OOMPH!. Then many others. Currently, I'm really into both of those, as well as Eisbrecher, Funker Vogt, and a whole buncha others.
I can speak a bit of German, and I have no idea where to begin for outside intrests... uh... art? The social studies (History, languages, usw.)? sweatdrop

Aight then, for people who don't know me, I'm Jessica. (Feel free to call me Jess if you please. Not BOOB, ok?) I'm part of the Rammstein guild so I'll probably see quite a few people I know around here. *looks around* Umm, I'm a huge huge huge fan of Rammstein. I've heard a bit of Eisbrecher and KMFDM, if they count. Stimmkraft is also a big favorite of mine. I also can speak a bit of German. I know a lot of words but don't exactly understand sentence structure. Umm, anyways, I am not a Nazi, as most people accuse me of being. I just think they're fascinating people!! As for things I like, I can uh...draw and write. RPs are fun and I'm obsessed with Germany. i'm a stalker of an Asian dude named Ko. I think that's about it. sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop

Guten tag jeder! I'm one of the moderators from the Rammstein guild so some of you may know me.
I could tell you the lengthy, detailed story of how I came to like German bands, but I think we'd all rather have the far more condensed version... and by far more, I mean by like two pages... <_<;;
About a year and a half ago, my older brother showed me some of the Rammstein songs he had on his computer from Sehnsucht for the first time (pretty much 4 songs, but he only showed me Du Hast in its origional verson and Du Hast in its english version) and that started my interest in Rammstein. After that happened I slowly began to learn of and listen to other german bands as well that I had heard of.
Anyway, some of my favorite German bands are Rammstein, Laibach, Megaherz, Eisbrecher, KMFDM, BlutEngel, and Unheilig.

My name is Neko, or my real name is Alesha. Feel free to call me either, I don't really care. I'm 15, 16 April 4th, and I'm crazy! I'm just overall really weird, but fun, all the same.
I started liking German music not too long ago (pretty recently, actually), when I met my boyfriend. He has been a fan of the genre for a while, and partially because of it became fluent in the language. When I met him I decided to show some intrest because I care about him and wanted to show him that I'll adopt his customs as much as I can so that we could have some common ground. He gave me lyrics to some Rammstein songs he was listening to, and I loved them (well... the translations since I knew NOTHING) so I decided to download some of it from Limewire. At first I wasn't all that fond of it, because I wasn't used to music as hard as Rammstein is. But then I asked him to pick out a bunch of songs he liked and give them to me. From that, there was a few Oomph! and Stahlhammer songs as well as Rammstein. I really loved the Oomph! and Stahlhammer and decided to download more (All that Limewire has, for that matter. Which isn't enough. T__T) and got used to Rammstein and developed a love for them as well.

My favorite band right now is Oomph!, but I'm starting to like the others more. I joined this guild to be in the precense of people that share this love for the genre that I do, but also in hopes to learn of more bands and broaden my range of the genre. ^__^ So there's my waaay too long poster-mejigger, but it's how I came to be a German music fan. *Thumbs up* <3

And hey, we don't have anyplace else for posting about how you discovered ze musik, right? So why not here? I'm surprised I managed to avoid posting my life story; I usually do... ninja

I always say too much. I talk a lot. o__o; But I'm so happy to find a place with some people that actually know of the music (Other than Rammstein, since everyone seems to know of them) and can actually comprehend my referance in my posting style. o__o;;;

Hallo! Ich bin Villanelle, ein new member. (My Deutsch just failed me...) Ive been lurking on here for a few days, dithering over how to intro myself...
Ummm, I'm absolutly crap at first posts, I'm never sure what to type, even with examples... So here goes...
I only really started listening to Deutsche music recently, a German friend of mine on another site made a deasktop wallpaper with some lyrics on it from Knorkator, I mentioned Id never heard them before, so we sent each other a CD with some music on it. And thus I stumbled into the music...
I haven't heared much yet, I have to rely on online radios and limewire for most of my Deutsche music needs, so I find it quite hard to find a new band or song I love easily....
The bands and artists I'm currently very into would be J.B.O, Die Toten Hosen, Unheilig, Schandmaul and Subway to Sally.
J.B.O rock, I'm hoping to find one of their albums next time I swing by HMV, or some other music shop... But, anoyingly, I live in a pretty rural area that doesn't have any big shops, or even little ones... <_<
I'm beginning to learn to speak the language, but I'm really not too good at the moment. Ive found listening to Deutsch sprechen music helps a lot...

I suck at first posts, too, so don't worry 'bout it! You did way better than I did! XD Does your HMV not let you order in CDs? I get a lot of mine from there. :3 You can call ahead and order it, and they'll call you when it arrives. And fell free to make threads about those groups, if you like; I'm pretty sure we don't have most of them. :3
