This is a day that the Lord has made, we will still rejoice and be glad in it.
Greetings, brothers and sisters in Christ!
King David came from humble beginnings.
He was the youngest of the sons of Jesse, he had been a shepherd boy and he understood the need to look to God to guide him and protect him.
For David, his desire was to worship and serve God.
David had the proper focus.
He realized, as we all should, that it is all about God, His glory, His sovereignty, and His will.
Here is what David penned in Psalm 18:2.(K.J.V) - The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
What happened to make David fully come to grips with this trust in God?
Let us look at 2nd Samuel 22:1-3. (K.J.V) - And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortess, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
The Apostle Paul once a persecutor of Christians, knew very well that he was preaching Christ crucified and as the redeemer who helped bridge the divide between sinful man and a holy God.
Paul made sure to let folks know not to look at him as the one to focus on.
Let's look at 1st Corinthians 1:11-13. (K.J.V.) - For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions amoung you. Now I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
*Our focus should always be on Jesus as the author and finisher of our faith.
*If one person can talk you into a form of salvation,
someone else might talk you out of it.
1st Corinthians 3:6 (K.J.V)reads as follows:
'I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.'
* It's not about us.
* It is all about Jesus.
let's keep our focus on Him.
May God continue to lead, guide and direct us all and allow each of us to strive to bring honor, praise and glory to His name.
You're brother in Christ,
