Warm and loving greetings to the family of God here at 'The Well'.
Our nation, our state, our community, and even some of our family members are falling victim to SIN.
In so doing, family relationships are failing; drugs, alcohol, perversions, moral degeneration and lusts of every imaginable type are consuming lives.
We as followers of Christ, must have a sense of urgency in sharing the love and mercy of Jesus to a lost and dying world.
Sin abounds and we do very little to confront it.
Why??????
I suspect most of us have a difficulty loving the sinner while hating the sins.
How do we love folks who do evil in the sight of God? It's not easy, but it is doable and it is all accomplished through complete and total surrender to the Holy Spirit of a righteous, sovereign, holy and loving God.
God loves even the sinner.
It is the rebellious nature of the sinner and the sins that God hates.
Sadly, a nation falls into sin when it's leaders condone, pander to, or wink at sin.
Don't believe it?
Look at the following scriptures.
Solomon, with all of his wisdom and power, was not immune to sin.
Read 1st Kings 11:6. (read with me here alright, and look at this.)
1 Kings 11:6 - And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.
Israel prospered and was blessed when it's leadership obeyed God. Israel fell into sin and decay when the leadership showed, by example, how little it cared about obeying God.
Look at this verse from 1st Kings 14:21-22: And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began his reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.
God dealt harshly with Israel and Judah every time their leaders paved the way for sin and corruption.
God is honor bound to deal harshly with our great nation today.
I'm persuaded God will not let our nation or even our local community stand untouched by His wrath if we follow our leaders into depravity and sin.
We must love, share Jesus, and reach out now!
Let me urge us all to come together, united under God's holy and powerful hand, and under the leading of His Holy Spirit and pray with each other, pray for each other and pray for a return to obedience and holiness.
Let us not follow in the ways the kings of Israel and Judah did so many times.
