Separating the Headquarters and the Dojo is the promenade. Sometimes, but rarely, dojo fights will get out of hand and expand into the promenade. Other than that, it's a pretty peaceful place. Shinigami will come here to unwind, take walks, swim, whatever.

After having being transported by Gengyo's Kido, Nocella landed in the promenade. Why here of all places? Could've at least transported them to the Fourth, or somewhere near it. With a sigh, she called over the nearby Eleventh Division members. "Gather the others. And send for Fourth Division medics. We have about fifty injured." she said. With an uplifted stride, she sauntered down the promenade, gathering what division members she could. This was certainly not going to be pretty work. In her absence, the dojo fights had seemed to escalate into the promenade. Luckily, she found many of them sparring outside. The rest were probably at the well frequented dojo. "You." she snapped. "Run to the dojo and empty out the medical supplies." Nocella called.
It did not take long before a tall, and lean looking young man stepped out of Shunpo near the captain of squad eleven, with a slight lurch in his step. " Lieutenant Shizou of squad Four, here to provide medical aid to...your injured...Captain Kurenai."he said, words trailing off momentarily as he first registered the fact that the injured were not of squad eleven, nor even of the Seireitei. There was alot of them, and he immediately began to categorize the injuries he could see, and there were many. He had to sort them into life threatening, and no immediate danger categories, so he would know who he had to treat first. but there were so many in such poor condition, he wasnt sure he would be able to save them all. The seireitei was not at war, or in a state of emergency, so he was not carrying his Zanpakuto when he was called to the eleventh division. He resigned himself to doing this the hard way. "Captain, Im going to need alot of cloth for bandages, as sterile as you can get it, we will need clean water, and if any of your men have even the slightest medical training, please have them see to those with less severe injuries." He knelt by the first person he came across, an elderly woman, with rather nasty gash across her arm, which was bleeding profusely, probably a knicked artery, or she would have been dead long before. " Keikatsu." he breathed, letting the healing kido pull from his reserves of energy as it sealed the wound.

Nocella rolled her eyes as the Lieutenant appeared. Of course they weren't her men. Many of the Eleventh wouldn't put it past their pride to receive medical attention from the Fourth. She, herself, had dismissed life threatening injuries to waive off treatment. "Of course my men don't have medical training. But any dolt who has half a brain knows how to wrap a bandage." she snorted. As her men piled in and arrived, they brought with them all the dojo's medical supplies that they used for sparring. From everything to the basic med kits, to gauzes, to alcohol, and antiseptic. "Spread them out along the promenade." she ordered. Gengyo had picked the worst place to deposit these people. Not only was the boardwalk narrow and twisting, it would be an assembly line of medical care. There wouldn't be any time, or room, for triage. "Where are your med squads?" she asked, turning away from him as soon as she had asked the question. Seemed like it didn't even need a warranted response. "Line up along the boardwalk. Worst ones in front, minor ones in back. Organize yourselves as best as you are able." she snapped. She was well aware that a few of them were so bad off, they could hardly move. But realistically, there was no way they could waste time organizing them when they were practically all dying on her doorstep.
Shun winced at Captain Kurenai's rather brusque attitude. he wiped a bead of sweat from his brow as he moved to his next patient and applied pressure over a gaping leg wound to try and stop the bleeding, the crimson liquid staining his hands. " I'm sorry captain, Squad four is spread thin, trying to keep up with all of our work, and only a Captain can fully mobilize the Medical teams, I dont have the authority except in emergency situations and times of war, And as Im sure you know, we are currently without a captain. He tightly bound thew bleeding leg wound, and pulled aside one of the squad eleven members. " Please, watch this man, if his bleeding worsens, come find me." Wearily, the lieutenant produced one of his squad four stim pills, and popped it into his mouth. Today was going to have been long enough without this sudden medical crisis in Squad eleven's promenade. " Rest assured captain, I dont know how these people came to be here, but I will make sure I treat them all as best as I can."

With a sharp exhale of air, she crossed her arms as she paced the promenade. Since Gengyo had been so kind to transport them to her squad, that means that they would be her responsibility. This was despite the fact that Hakora had led his irrational little mission. There was a reason that the outer Rukon Districts were in such poverty. Where on earth would they put these people? The Soul Society didn't have room for them. Life was harsh, but if you weren't spiritually strong, you didn't become a Shinigami and was forced to live in the Rukon Districts. If you were lucky, you landed in one of the more lawful districts. If you were weak, you ended up in the lower echelons. That's just the way it was. Nocella didn't see the point in treating them. They would just have to be returned to the Zaraki district, where the same thing would likely happen again. It would be a nice disillusion if they could be returned to the upper Rukon Districts, but their capacity and resources wouldn't nearly be enough to hold them. In short, they had nowhere else to go, but back to the Eightieth Districts. "What's the point?" she muttered to herself. Yes, she could theoretically be helping. Yes, she could assure these wounded people that everything was going to be alright. Yes, she could wrap bandages around their wounds and numb their pain. But for what? Nocella didn't mean to throw salt in the wound, but as a stark realist, she said what she meant, did what she meant, and showed what she meant. Everyone had to face reality sooner or later. She wasn't going to hold anyone's hand on the way down. So she simply sat on the handrail of the promenade, watching the fruitless work going on about her with flat and detached eyes.
The work took hours, even with the help of Eleventh division squad members, and left the lieutenant stained with blood, his arms coated, and his shihakusho soaked through. Many were in pain, some had to be transferred to the squad four medical wards where they could receive continued treatment, but at long last, all of the injured were dealt with fittingly. Shun wiped a gore streaked hand across his fore head. " Captain Kurenai, all the injured have been seen to. I cannot guarantee the quality of life they'll have, but they all will live, and that is far more than I expected to accomplish." The lieutenant was unsteady on his feet, and his nose was filled with the cloying smell of blood and medicine. He rubbed his eyes, shook his head, and returned to the present. " Is there anything else you require of the Fourth Division Captain?" he asked, yawning slightly.

As the Lieutenant finished his work, Nocella looked up, staring at him long enough to make a person uncomfortable. "If that's all, you're dismissed." she said succinctly, with a clipped tone of voice. She flicked her eyes down the promenade. Through some brilliant thing of foresight, the walkways hadn't been constructed out of stone, but steel. Fights got out of hand, so it was only natural that the walkways were made out of something more durable than rock. Unfortunately, that also meant that the boardwalk was slick with copious amounts of blood. Obviously, the injured couldn't stay here, but there was no place to put them either. Sliding her body off the handrail, she thumped lightly to her feet. "I want half of you scrubbing and half of you transporting. We're moving them to the barracks until that idiot Captain gets here or Central 46 throws up flares." she snapped. With that said, she hauled two of the nearest crippled looking slaves and tossed them over her shoulder. With a small grunt, she carried them off like rag dolls, moving to the other side of the less crowded promenade, so her other officers could take care of them. Walking back, she noted the Fourth Division Lieutenant. "Gengyo should make an appearance soon." she said, referring to her own Lieutenant. "Make sure he informs you of the situation, lest we miss an unwarranted report."
Jeebus Christ, I missed a lot while I was at work today. Holy s**t.
Gengyo, immediately after they all arrived at the Promenade (it was the place he knew the best and felt the most comfortable in, aside from his own quarters within the barracks), made a rather expeditious retreat to said quarters. He wasn't hiding, but had been recovering from the up-and-down-and-back-up of the 12th Captain's Soldier Pill, its crash, the Ginseng pill from the 2nd Captain used to counter that crash...and now its own crash. needless to say, this left him feeling drained and it didn't help matters any that as he slept, he inadvertently entered his Inner World for yet another argument with Tsukurite Yasuragi about his unwillingness to take the final step towards Bankai. Gengyo knew he was ready, knew that it would make him immeasurably stronger....but there was a nameless feeling that if he achieved bankai, something terrible would happen to him. He felt the thing waiting for him to do it. He knew he'd have to face it eventually. He was just scared of what it might be.
After his "rest," Gengyo returned to the Pormenade to see how things were. He'd felt the two reiatsus of Nocella and someone of apparent Lieutenant rank. He was pleased to see it was Shun, even though the two had only ever spoken in passing during the occasional Captains' Meeting. He hadn't even truthfully known which Division Shun belonged to until just this moment. But, ever the gentleman, Gengyo approached the young man and offered his best smile, feeling guilty that he'd been gone so long.
"I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping these people. They'd have served the rest of their lives as slaves and torture-victims if we'd not saved them from their captors...and now I thank you for saving those you could from death." His words were sincere. Of course they would be, he truly did mean them. he didn't like the idea of blowing sunshine up this man's a**, so he quickly wrapped it up with something that caught even himself by surprise when he said, "Would you like to join me in my quarters for some tea? You look positively bushed, and what kind of host would the 11th Division be if our guests received no hospitality?"
The small half-grin on Gengyo's face was as warm and inviting as the tea he already had brewing in back his small suite of rooms, and the hand he extended with the offer was as open as the invitation itself.

Yuri Valentine - Sifu
" as you wish, Captain." Shun replied tiredly to the eleventh division's captain. Her manner grated on his nerves for a moment, but he stuffed his irritation down inside and sealed it off. He was then approached and thanked by the lieutenant of the same division, who offered tea, as a respite after the work he had just done. " I thank you for your offer, but I would need no thanks. If I did not already suffer from sleep deprivation, I would lose even more sleep if I did not help. As for my own condition, this is quite normal, I always look exhausted, because I am. I suffer from an incurable case of insomnia, and I physically cannot sleep unless I pass out from exhaustion. Add that on to the heavy work load of being the lieutenant of a captainless division with a heavy demand like squad four, and most people would not be able to function. but I have very little work left today, so I believe I can take a small amount of time to have tea, thank you." Shun explained. He took a moment to clean the blood from his hands arms and face, as well as remove what he could from his shihakusho, before he took the lieutenants proffered hand.
Glad you were able to rejoin us. No worries about the wait, I've been busy with work myself and I've been able to keep myself plenty occupied.
Gengyo, as Shun accepted the hand, helped (or more accurately lifted) the man to his feet with an ease that must have seemed odd for someone who could have easily passed for 13 or 14.
"Just this way, Shun," Gengyo said as he led him quite casually by the hand towards the barracks. Not in any way hitting on him, Gangyo was Japanese and had lived in a time when two men holding hands was simply a sign that they were good friends. Being equals i terms of rank, Gengyo already held some respect for the other Lieutenant. The fact that Shun served in the underrated but undeniably valuable 4th Division only added to that. "I suppose you're owed an explanation for all the commotion. To put it simply yet completely, apparently Captain Shinari was on some sort of recon mission to North Zaraki District. My Captain, Nocella, was with him. I found them just before they entered a hideout, entirely by accident. We three entered, and found those people in a dire state. I was forced to take the captives and Captain Nocella via Sentan Hakuja, leaving Captain Shinari there alone. I suspect he's already killed everyone who was still alive when we left. Knowing him, the zokubutsu is likely already breaking out the wine to congratulate himself on a job well done."
From that last sentence, it was clear that Gengyo was not the biggest fan. After all, he'd called the Captain of the Second Division a snob. But taken out of context, and given that Gengyo's voice remained pointedly monotone, coming to that conclusion would require that one be familiar with the Japanese language.
"Either way, just through this door and we'll be in the barracks. Then, if you'll follow me, we can talk and relax in privacy." And privacy would be indeed needed. Gengyo had been long meaning to bring his condition to the 4th, 12th, or 5th Divisions but had been unable thus far. He also had a need to see if this man had heard the same disturbing rumors that Gengyo had. As they stood at the doorway to the barracks, Gengyo gave a brief order to the men present that he and his guest were not be disturbed unless someone was dying or on fire....in which case, they should be seeking immediate emergency medical attention, and still not bothering him. Gengyo held out his hand to allow Shun to enter the building first.

Shun of Blackwood
Sorry broski, no hard feelings. Waited forever and a day but had to get on with my character. Sorry.
The little black butterfly landed on Gengyo's shoulder as he opened the door and he heard the message from Captain Delfino. That was faster than he'd expected. He'd only put in the request that morning. With a quick bow to Shun, he murmured something about being needed immediately and was gone with a sudden Shunpo, off towards the 12th Division.
