Nyhility Tryggr: [Blends in with the night] >3
Thamin Duff, as was her custom since childhood, sat atop a hilside gazing at the stars. She hummed softly to herself as she did so. Her tail wrapped around her and unwrapped in a restless manner, though Duff seemed to be perfectly content. Despite posible dangers she allways felt more at ease in the night.
Nyhility The stallion wandered near the lower rim of the hill, his heavy tail dragging soundly in the grass. Peering up, he could just make the outline of his friend and gave her a ghostly smile.
Thamin Perhaps it was her admiration of the sky above, or maybe it was how the night soothed her so, but Duff did not realize that her silently moving friend was just at the base of the hill below her. She continued to sit there, lost in her own thoughts for a moment, before she got to her hooves. It was getting quite late indeed, and she knew not where it would be or when it would be when she finally needed to rest. In any case, she figured she would need some sort of shelter. As she started down the hill she spied a figure at the base. At first she paused, hesitant about drawing closer to an unknown being; but though the shadows concealed much of the identity of the being before her the wind instantly gave the being away. She gave a soft chuckle and continued down the hill to greet her friend, instantly spying his smile as she drew closer. "I know what it is that I am smiling about; but what could cause you to have such a grin at this time of night?" Duff questioned in jest.
Nyhility An ear tilted forward as Trygger glanced up to the night sky, curious what had the others attention. But there were no owls or bats dancing above; only the twinkling of stars. While they were a relaxing sight, the stallion feared lulling to sleep if he stared at them for too long. And as the other Soquili shifted, he stepped forward with his constant grin and a lifted brow. "Need there be a reason? Goodness, it might as well just be that I found you before another! What if it had been a predator, hm?"
Thamin "I suppose that there does not need to be a reason; it was more or less a curiosity." Duff said, shaking her head as she did so. "And I do not worry much about the predators of this land. Many tell horrible tails, horror stories of death and mutilation. But I have yet to see any sign of it. Besides...." Duff paused and shrugged. "I am one of the predators that most fear in the night."
Nyhility "Haha, and a curious mind is such a fun trait!" Just like smiles, it did not need a reason to be. All the same, it was one of the small things that made each day more enjoyable. He snuffed through his nostrils, the cold air crisp against the motion. "Those tails stem from truths, I imagine. Let's hope they remain things we just hear of and not see." Kindly, he bumped his hip against Duff's before he moved away from the hill, eager to keep moving lest he fall asleep. "You? How unfathomable."
Thamin "Oh, it can be a troublesome one as well. Never much fun when one can not figure out or gain knowledge about what they are curious about.. The curiosity stays at the back of your thoughts and irritates you like an itch that just can not be scratched no matter how hard you try....." Duff said in a matter of fact manner. "And perhaps.... They do have to come from somewhere. Despite their horific nature though... And I guess this is a bit morbid of me..." Duff added slightly embarased. "I am curious as to just how real the tails are." She swayed at Tryggr's hip bump, his larger form causing her to sake a step to the side. She shook her head and swatted after her friend with her tail, missing him though as he had already continued forward. Without a thought though she began to follow. "Oh I know; any that know me couldn't see how I could be one of the monsters in the tails. But think of it really... If you're walking alone in the forest and you see a shadow with a spaded tail and horns would you just walk up to it and say 'hi!'?"

Nyhility "Oh, I can certainly see your point there. It becomes more of a stress trying to solve all the mysteries bothering you in life." But Trygger was still truthfully young in life, and his casual temperament left it hard for him to be often bothered by such things. Or maybe he just hasn't encountered a worthwhile test just yet. The male clicked his tongue thoughtfully as they walked. "Is that why you stare at the stars then? Since they are a mystery that is better left to the curious and imaginative mind?" Then he bellowed a friendly chuckle while shaking his head. "Maybe? I am a friendly fellow, don't you know? Besides, I figure it's more a 'sense' thing than a 'sight' thing."
Thamin "Oh no...." Duff said with a soft and slightly embarrassed smile. "They..." She said as she looked to the stars once more. "They comfort me.... I cant really explain it." She lowered her gaze and offered a soft smile to her friend. "But they are quite intriguing; an endless supply of curiosities, an enigma." She paused for a moment. She had to agree fully. "I really should have thought that question through before I asked it, huh? You did just walk right up to me after all! Completely disproving my point without even trying!" She said with a hearty laugh.
Nyhility "Amazing, right? For something that can't talk or touch, and it can still bring comfort for those that care to stop and look." Trygger paused as they approached a crop of stones, and he shrugged at his companion. "Left, or right? I don't mind either way. Haha, and how true that is! What a lucky duck I was that you weren't a fierce predator."
Thamin Duff paused as they came to the fork, pondering each one deeply. They both seemed equally treacherous and serene. After a moment Duff picked up a small stone and tossed it into the air. She spun quickly and hit the stone as it fell with the flat of her spade. It soared for a short distance before landing somewhere to the right. "I guess I choose the right side!" She said before smacking Tryggr's shoulder lightly with her tail. "Oh, lucky indeed, but that's not to say that you couldn't have escaped even if I was." She tilted her head slightly with a soft smirk. "And who's to say that I cant be - I may have it deep down that I am supposed to be one."
Nyhility Nightfall had made it difficult to see the options, but that wasn't something the stallion cared to admit. Either way, he had the cheery disposition and confidence to face whichever direction they decided to walk. Oh yes, it was easy enough to see how green this individual was when it came to experiencing and considering risks. So long as he remained alert though with his senses, Trygger felt that the night would pass easily for him and his friend. Especially after she conducted such a wise process in selecting the path. "Wow! I hadn't realized you were so coordinated with your tail!" Then he curtsied to allow Duff to pass first, while considering her comment. "Hm, you'd have to prove it for me to believe that."
Thamin Duff blushed at Tryggr's comment, though none would be able to see the rosy hue through her ebony coat. "Lets just say that the snow was my friend when it came to coordination. It is extremely difficult to handle, but after watching two-leggers from afar making balls and shapes out of it and throwing it I could not help myself but attempt to do so myself." She gave an awkward smile as she continued. "I lost track of how much time I spent in the snow, but it was apparently enough time that I became quite dexterous and capable of manipulating my tail quite well during my endeavors." She waited for a moment as Tryggr curtsied, not realizing it at first that it was meant for her to go before him. When she did realize his gentlemanly gesture she hurried forward, not wanting to seem rude. "And that is where the problem lies. I have no reason to be at the moment, and thus no desire to be." She chuckled and shrugged. "Makes me wonder though - If I am not so because I have no need to be, does that mean that others are only so because they do have a reason?"
Nyhility "The.....snow." Trygger puffed his lips and gave a sidelong pout at Duff. "Don't make me envy you, missy! How amazing is that to have a tail that you can grip and throw things with! Certainly you can do the same with pinecones? And the humans, did you ever get near to any of them?" His horns were heavy though, and he had to pause his questioning as he lifted his neck upright once more. Careful not to scratch his friend at the same time, mind you! "Maybe it's both? Say if one predator had the desire and another has the reason, they compete against each other? Almost like a never ending cycle...and it's unfortunate for outsiders who get in the way?" He shrugged as he followed after Duff, his hooves clicking soundly on the smaller stones.
Thamin Scoffing, Duff shook he head. "Envy me? You have no reason to. Every advantage has it's drawbacks. Frankly, I'd trade my tail for yours any day." Despite her acceptance of what she was, she had always been curious and longed for the tail of hair that so many she knew possessed. "I suppose I could grip pine cones if I wanted to, but arent they prickly?" She asked, trying to remember them. "Seems like it'd be more effort than a rock or snow, and not nearly as fun. As for humans, no....." Duff shrugged quietly. "I've watched them from a great distance, but I fear that they are not all as they seem. I worry that they will fear me; so I stay away......" The passage seemed to be getting narrower as they progressed down it, ever so slightly - Or perhaps it was just the shadows? Duff couldnt tell anymore. "Y'aknow.... I have never quite thought of it that way before - as a never ending cycle. You may be onto something there. But what if the outsiders arent just in the way? What if they are part of the problem?"

Nyhility "Nah don't wish that. A tail of hair can be very boring and heavy at times." The male huffed as he was reminded of his own tail, dragging along and always collecting dirt. "Hm, and I think small pinecones can be smooth...maybe? Not nearly as cold and heavy, haha." But he was left speechless on the debate of outsiders and predators, and could only shrug in reply. "Perhaps we will never know."
Thamin Duff nodded with an awkward smile as she watched Tryggr and his long tail. She did envy it, she truly did - though she envied all that possessed a tail of hair. She knew she would miss her own though if she were ever to posses one.... Being able to pick things up was quite a boon. "I suppose so - though I have never tried to find out. Perhaps I should in the future." She added. "But one can avoid freezing their tail with snow by moderating the time it is touching it, and... well.... My tail isnt strong enough to pick up a heavy stone. Only small ones." Duff watched her footing as she continued onward, not wanting to become a victim to any stray pebbles or stones. "Perhaps...." Duff responded quietly, looking to the ground. It was curiosities such as these that always itched at the back of her mind. Perhaps she would never know, perhaps she would..... Perhaps....

Nyhility The stallion tsked in thought, bemused by all this talk over a tail's abilities. Not that it was something he'd ever be able to practice, but it was entertaining all the same. But then- "Oof!" He backpedaled quickly when he realized he had bumped into his friend as they chatted. "M' sorry, I'm sorry! Are you ok?" Had she slowed down for a reason? He frankly couldn't see anything, to be honest. But there was no scent or sound of danger nearby.
Thamin Duff lurched forward as she was bumped into by the larger stallion, her caution becoming her downfall.... Literally. She stumbled and fell to the ground, her knees hitting the ground hard as she attempted to break her fall. "Omph..." She mumbled as she collided. The fall had been minor, and though there were a few very minor scrapes on her fore knees once she regained her footing there were no other indications that she even fell. "I'm quite alright, Tryggr." She replied to his concern. "Just being too cautious I guess.... No harm done!" She added with a smile as she shook her pelt free from any dust.
Nyhility The familiar sound of pebbles and dirt grinding together made Trygger's teeth clench, and he warily nosed down at the earth ahead of him. "Duff?" She hadn't fallen too far, thankfully, but all the same she was down for the count! When he could feel her tail brush against his muzzle, he stopped in his tracks so as not to stomp on his friend. "Holy cow, I am so sorry! I wasn't paying any attention and sure I wasn't walking fast but that doesn't matter I never meant to push you over even in a friendly shove cause even my sister doesn't appreciate those and and-" The stallion shut himself up as he realized he was rambling horribly. Sensing rather than seeing her stand, he held back almost nervously now. "Do you need any herbs? Should I fetch a squirrel or something to help with bandages?!" D8;
Thamin Duff shook her head as her friend began to ramble on about not intending to bump her. "No, no, no.... There is no need for you to be sorry!" She said as she turned to face Tryggr. "I know you didnt mean to.... It was my own fault. I got caught up with my own thoughts and I didnt make any mention of slowing down and I was watching the ground for stray rocks and pebbles and...." She paused and took a deep breath. "You didnt do anything wrong.... Accidents happen. It's nothing to fret over; really." She offered a smile to try and ease the stallions worries, not realizing just how much the lack of light was inhibiting her friend's sight. She looked down at her knees and brushed them off; though scrapped they were not bleeding. "No, I'll be alright I think." She paused and looked about at their surroundings. Where were they going? The terrain was becoming rockier the further they progressed. Though there werent any signs of danger, no scents, no sounds, no sights.... There was still the chance. Duff looked forward once more, then back the way they had came. Though cautious at times, Duff was still a little too bold in her confidence that no danger would befall them. "Hopefully this'll open up and lead to a grassy clearing instead of getting worse..." She said with a soft chuckle as she patted Trygger on the shoulder reassuringly with the flat of her tail and continued forward down the passage.
