I work for a small family run business (my girlfriend's parents), and there is this guy. He is pretty fun and happy all the time. Today I found out that he is fake. All that outgoing energy? Just a mask for being a total douche. I can't stand people who are all nice when they are around you, but talk/go behind your back. That's when you see their true ugly colors.
So he is pretty much going around the office whistle blowing on everyone. During the winter we had two people leave, and he asked for a $10k raise, he was a hard working, loyal employee so he was given it. So 6 months pass, we have hired people to replace the old ones. He asks to have a meeting and explains that he wants paid $20-$40k MORE than what he is currently paid after getting a sizable raise 6 months prior, saying he was getting paid more at his old job (A very large business). Which he was either laid off or fired from.

He sounds like a person who does not understand value.
