FIRST STORY----
Alien abduction sort of story, where a human girl is taken then "upgraded," sent back to complete some tests, but complications arise from earth scientists and of course her boyfriend
SECOND STORY----
"year of the blood dragon"
post apocalyptic story where a disease spreads out, naturally mutating the infected into dragon-like beings by increasing the body's own radiation. (disease spreads like AIDS, and another similarity is it's incurable so far) the world falls into chaos as two major groups form, the "infected" and the "hunters." A group of siblings, two brothers, late twenties, one infected, and a younger sister, mid twenties, infected, are traveling the country, because the sister is desperate to find out the circumstance of a friend, hoping with all her heart he isn't dead. When they finally find him, he is part of a ruthless group of hunters calling themselves "The Vets." The brothers advise her to stay away and to get as far away as possible, but she can't. She HAS to talk to him, to see if he remembers her and will still love her like before even though she's infected. She manages to meet him alone, but it doesn't go at all as planned. hes hostile, and acts as if the old her was dead and in that place is something not right. so she tries to convince him that she's the same, just her appearance is different.
THIRD STORY----
set in the future, the world's noble predators were all soon to be extinct. As a last resort, scientist spliced DNA mutations into the original DNA of these beasts, creating a stronger, more intelligent, and more durable species. They called these creatures "Uanimals," short for upgraded animals. For a while it was a success. But after a while, the scientists realized these animals cannot be controlled or regulated, and a call was put out to stop the experiment and to destroy the specimens. All but one company followed this call. This company, labeled Bio-Transcending, wanted to push further with the DNA. They went 'underground' so to speak, and delved into splicing DNA from the Uanimals with human DNA. the zygotes are created from people who have shown higher grade genes, and during the blastocyst stage, the Uanimal DNA is spliced in. The embryos are developed within the lab, inside synthetic wombs where the scientists monitor and adjust the conditions within to ensure perfect development. The first ones to be created, the female "born" first, were the lab's pride and joy, for their animal DNA was a test to create 'Mythic' creatures. While unsuccessful by itself, it seemed to have more stability when combined with human DNA, as shown with the female and male created. The male was stable, but the female... the female obviously had some defects from the DNA splicing. Thought to be a failure, the scientists labeled her Experiment 0, codename "Omega." To put it simply, they kept the girl locked up and under surveillance, to see whether she would stabilize, or how long she can survive being unstable. They turned their attention to the boy, noting with excitement his rapid development in intelligence and growth. But when he reached an age where he fully developed his own thoughts and mind, it became apparent that the inability to control the UDNA was still there. he goes on a rampage, destroying a large part of the dna, before he stumbles upon the female. He immediately feels a connection to her, but she displays a fear and anger. he breaks open her cage and tries to reach out to her, but she lashes out and bites him.
