In Greece, there is a range of mountains that string between the borders of Thessaly and Macedonia. This is the Olympus Range. The highest peaks of which is named Mount Olympus, thus the aforementioned range was named after. In what is believed by many to simply be myth, is in fact a reality as atop the peak lies a Pantheon. Constantly, enshrouded in mist, it is home to the 12 Olympians. Vastly powerful gods, formed from mere human thought and belief. They have reigned over these mountains for untold centuries, and have watched humanity grow. Amongst these Gods, is Ares, the God of War. The Lord of conflict, the Harbinger of Conflict. He sits atop his throne, left alone to his thoughts

Two thousand five hundred years. That could be translated as two hundred and fifty centuries or nine hundred and twelve thousand, five hundred days. However, that way the number was translated was pointless in the grand scheme of things. The point was, that it had been over two and half thousand years since he had been conceived. The Greeks, as imaginative as they were, had inadvertently been responsible for this creation, in their quest to seek glory and bless themselves before, during, and after a conflict.

That in and of itself was truly beautiful to him. Not his creation, not his purpose, but the object of his purpose. His devotion. War, Battle, Genocide, Murder, it did not matter what words was used to describe it, or what form it took. He reveled in conflict. It provided for him. It fed, nurtured and empowered him. Even as those that had spilled blood in his name, had in turn had their own blood spilled by the hands of others, it had only further strengthened him.

In the end, even as humanity continued to adapt and evolve technologically, and grown past the notions of a pantheon of gods, they continued to provide. They'd only grown more and more imaginative in their methods of killing, and as it turned out, one did not even need to believe in a specific god to empower them. It just simply happened, as they had become associated with that which they were based around. And he was a god of war. The most infamous of them all! For who had not heard of Ares? The Lord of Blood, The King of Conquerors? No, he had continued to grow and grow.

However, times changed, and not always for the better. In the last two four centuries alone, a long line of humans, aliens, wizards, and so on and so forth appeared, coming to be known as Super Heroes appeared, the less conflict could be birth. Always, these heroes would spring into action at the merest hint of blood shed, and thus conflict had seemed to stop altogether. Not in a literal sense, but he had been forced to scrap off of the remains of simple murders and border skirmishes! These could not sustain him. No...he needed a war. A Great War. A conflict of such proportion that it would shine brighter then the memories left behind by the Trojan War, or the Persian Wars, more blood would be spilled than that of the Civil Wars, and more human life taken than either the First or the Second World Wars! A war that would stretch out across the stars, across every plane of reality.

And he knew just how to bring about such a war. Long had this scheme formulated in his mind. A last resort of sorts. And as though the fates smiled upon, the relics that were needed had surfaced, thanks in part to human curiosity.

There would be those that would seek to deny him his glory, but all mortals were but insects before Ares. And as it so happened, there were few Gods left that could challenge him. Save for Zeus and maybe Poseidon. Few people believed in them now, science had all but crushed any mysticism behind both of them. There was Hades, but he more often than not clung to his own machinations and preferred to be left alone. Thus they would send forth mighty champions, but they would all fall before him.

And it would all start in the most unexpected of places. San Francisco.

San Francisco
In the East Bay Area of San-Francisco, America's so called Golden City, there is a grand event being held. It is not as grand as a Casino opening, nor is it as popular as a movie premiere. There is no horde of cheering fans waiting for any celebrities to sign any auto-graphs, nor waiting to be let loose on a shipping frenzy across a new mall. It is the beginning of a facility that will become home to those that have a love for culture, a taste for history, and adoration of all that is mystical. It is a museum. Located on the East Bay Area of San Francisco, this new Museum is appropriately named the Odyssey, and while not certainly limited to that story alone, it is now home to a massive reserve of armors, weapons, pots, writings, scribes, and a slew of relics and artifacts from all over Greece, funded by a lone benefactor known as Sarm Seras. With his massive resources, this Mr.Sera's is now the owner of one of the largest repositories of Greek Culture in North America, and it was open to the public. They were sure to see many visitors.

One woman was careful to blend into the crowd at this new museum, plainly dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, her long blond hair pulled into a simple pony tail. Cassie didn't plan to steal anything, but it couldn't hurt to keep her casing skills sharp in case this "Teen hero" bit lost it's appeal. The museum had some stuff that would be well worth her time if she did fall off the wagon, she'd been to digs in Greece, but this was more than she'd seen in one place before.

Another, dressed in civilian attire stood in the crowd. She was no stranger to public affairs and had made a name for herself in the music industry. Eliza was here for something deeper than just making an appearance. In her left pocket, she clasped an item that had brought her suffering and once, had very nearly taken her life. Perhaps here she would find the answer she sought and destroy the cursed item. Her fingers loosened, letting the pendant slip back into the boundaries of her pocket as she quietly observed, wary that trouble could be brewing on the horizon.

The Museum was grand both in size and appearance. The building was massive, with a carrying capacity of over 4800 guest at any given point. At the request of Sarm Seras, the architects were to see that the complex mirrored the designs of the Palace of King Menos, a famous palace that was said to have been built atop a Labyrinth that was home to the King's demonic , bull like son, the Minotaur. Legend had it, that Menos would send trespassers, criminals, and anyone that generally displeased him to be trapped within the labyrinth and left to the hands of the Minotaur.

Thus, a labyrinth was built underneath the three floor museum as well, although only as a tourist attraction. There were dozens of displays in the room as well, with specific rooms dedicated to specific gods such as Zeus and Hera to famous heroes and monsters like Hercules and the Hydra respectively. There was even a massive spherical chamber, that provided a full 3-d live hologram experience that replayed events such as the Trojan War and Battle of Thermopylae that cast visitors almost straight into the environment as though they were there in person.

There were two large domed areas as well, on either side of the complex. One was a theater, although not in terms of the movies. Much like the museum itself, the theater had been designed to replicate the appearance of the Greek Theater of Dionsus, and visitors could pay for seats to view live recreations of well known Greek plays, with comedies and tragedies such as Prometheus, Antigone, Samia. The other dome was more modernly designed and was in fact created for the purpose of a light and projection show with the purpose of giving viewers the Greek's ideas of how the Universe was created, the war between the gods, a visual history of Greece, Constellations and so much more.

It was indeed grand, expensive, but grand.

Standing inside felt like one had stepped back in time. Rather, it would have felt that way if not for the museum's guests and the more technological advancements in entertainment. Sure, it was grand! The attention to detail went without rival, but it seemed a bit much Eliza who, though no stranger to lavish accommodations and appearances, preferred things simpler. A stage, her fans cheering her on as she sang... That excitement was what the girl really preferred.
No. It was best to keep her thoughts on the matter at hand. This place had an air of strange the girl couldn't quite put her finger on and energies in the air suggested she wasn't the only superhuman here. She glanced about the guests, searching for familiar faces or someone who stood out. There always seems to be trouble when there's more than one... Luckily, the first aura didn't give off too mischievous an air. So, Cas was here too...

Wow...this place is huge. It must be pretty expensive. The boy thought to himself. He gazed upon everything the museum had to offer looking over all the different sights that caught his eye. Billy is attending a school field trip, one his teacher had been planning since almost the start of the semester. It wasn't the most interesting the thing to do and certainly not something he would pick over the many other things that he'd find fun but he saw it as a way to expand his knowledge without the help from the wisdom of Solomon. He arrived at the museum with his buddy group and in less than ten minutes lost his group in the crowded area of the museum. He was exactly that tall and most of the people walking around were adults making it somewhat harder to see over people, "Excuse me. Sorry, just trying to get through." The crowd was not letting up still walking around. It was hard to even get a glimpse of anything. Billy ends up pushed out of the crowd falling to his knees and quickly rising to his feet. He looked the museum over again figuring this was probably the only thing he'd get to look at. He felt a hand on his left shoulder and then another gripping at his red jacket pulling him along the edges of the wall staying away from the others. He looked up at the person pulling him identifying him as Billy's teacher, "Where have you been? The class had almost left without you." His teacher had an angry tone in his voice. "Now go on, your group is that way." His teacher pointed him in the direction of his group and he went ahead without question. "Yeesh, not my fault," Billy said keeping his voice low, not like his teacher could hear him in the first place.

"Hmm, I recognize that expression." Came a voice from behind the young heroine. A man stood behind her, clad in the apparel of an archaeologist. He was rather tall, standing at 6'1. His hair was a dirty blonde, and his eyes a clear blue, and he had a rather sharp chin. He appeared in his early twenties.

"That's the look of someone who knows all about culture. Particularly Greek I'm assuming, given the basis of the Museum?" He inquired, trying to make some small talk. He gave a smile, and his demeanor appeared all but friendly.

As she turned her head from side to side and did her best to identify any other super humans, amongst the crowd of people she would lay her eyes upon a broad giant of a man, clad in a well tailored cobalt suit. White shirt underneath, along with a tie, a black belt held up his matching pants. He was caucasian, eyes hidden behind a pair of shades, although a scar ran down the side right side of his face, he appeared as though as a man of a higher class. And to everyone else he did, but to her eyes, she could spot a massive sphere of crimson aura that encompassed everything around him a 3 meter radius. The aura itself gave off an air of violence, and she would find that staring at it for too long would hurt her eyes. Who was he?

"Now if you'll follow me, we can commence our tour of the museum, please stay close as it's easy to get separated here." The Museum guide informed the Fawcet City Students that he had been assigned to. Young Billy's class was rather fortunate, given the poor funding they'd receive. A chance raffle had been drawn by several schools, to have a full- expense field trip to the Museum, all fees covered by this Sarm Sera. Billy's had been the lucky victors of the raffle, and thus he they were now, standing in the largest gathering place of Greek Culture in America.

The Guide motioned for the class to form two lines and soon the tour began, their first stop, a gathering place at the Greek Hall of Origins. Here, all of the exhibits depicted art works, tapestries, and sculptures depicting the Titans of old myth.

"In Greek Mythology, The Titans were said to have been the Children of Uranus, and each of them were predecessors to the Olympians." The guide cut off for a moment, gesturing towards a piece of artwork that illustrated the Titan Chronos, wielding a scythe and striking down his father Uranus."Some text tell us that the Titans were in fact more powerful than the Olympians, and more primal in nature. Amongst these Titans, it is generally agreed that Chronos, Rhea, and Gaia were amongst the most powerful of them. And that it was Chronos who would lead them after Uranus downfall."

Cassie's spine stiffened, something about this guy set her on edge. "Yeah, I know a thing or two," the blond said, keeping things vague. This guy didn't need to know any more about her than absolutely necessary, whoever he was....

When one thinks of a putrid odor that makes a dog yelp in discomfort, one almost understands how such a powerful aura can feel to those who sense it. Eliza was only just coming into this sense: one which ordinarily, made her visits to the tower very uncomfortable and therefore infrequent. To Eliza, the tower was like standing upon the surface of an unsteady sea. Depending on who was aboard, she had a very hard time keeping her head straight This was Eliza's extra sense: one she hadn't even begun to understand.

Yikes! Eliza flinched for a moment, wondering how such a powerful feeling did not deter her visit or fall under her radar before. The air of violence made Eliza uneasy. Perhaps she had walked into a trap? No. She had to try and find answers. Glancing around, she felt a few other energies, certainly more steady than the one of the mysterious man in the crowd. One thing was certain, he was not normal.

She debated to herself as to whether to approach him and ask. If she did, she'd be getting closer to that nigh-overwhelming air of violence: something unpleasant: not easy to look at directly. If anyone were to know the secret behind the Angel's Tear, surely it would be he. Eliza grasped the thing in her pocket once more and took a breath, hoping to whatever power that be she didn't regret it.

Billy had made no eye contact with anyone in his group nor the tour guide. His mind was elsewhere picturing himself doing something worth while, then he'd remember why he actually wants to be here. His hands were lost in his jacket pocket fiddling with the extra things that he really forgot he had. A five dollar bill, batteries, and a plastic ring, which wasn't there before. While he walked with the rest of the group, he glanced around at the crowd stumbling upon some very suspicious people every now and then. He made a mental note to be ready to change at any time in a safe location, honestly hoping for a fight to break out, it would hopefully make this exciting. "You bored?"He said to a fellow classmate trying to get some agreement from others. His classmate only responded with a simple nod to where Billy continued listening to the guide.

J'zen White was always willing to learn about history. As well as visit such places that held onto priceless artifacts from another time. History was such a fascinating subject in time. Time was something she was familiar with, however it would be from a time much farther into the future verses the past or present. Passing through the doors, she glanced upwards towards the high vaulted ornate ceiling. Finding herself becoming lost to certain designs within the museum. Trading a glance from one person to the next, she couldn't help but feel as if she had overdressed for the occasion. Dressed in a wine colored gown, that fell with soft sighs as she walked across the marble floor. Her shoulder length locks of blond hair bounced in unison with every step she took. Taking the time to admire each statue as well as read up on its history. She couldn't help but people watch at the same time, curious to know what others thought of the displays throughout the museum.

(Hmm, my apologies for the long absence, some things in life got away. Perhaps some life could be brought back into this rp, or this guild in general.)

The giant of a man watched everything that went about from the balcony above. His eyes hidden behind a pair of black shades that concealed the contempt he held for these lesser beings that went about this way and that, observing all that that this museum, the Odyssey, had to offer. It was easy enough for him to hate these mortals. How weak and fragile they were. How easily fooled they could be. Their inability to see beyond that which lay in front of them.

However, that wasn't entire true now was it? He did not hate them in their entirety. No, of course not. They had helped birth him. The basic human concept of bloodshed was responsible for his creation. As it easy as it was to hate them, it was to admire them. Many were the hero of old that had striven across vast miles and faced the greatest perils the world had to offer but for a taste of glory and honor. Many were the man and woman that had died in the name of bloodshed and war. The human ability to make great feats in the art of death astounded him, to say the least. Ah, how he longed to see another weapon of such destruction as the one that had been unleashed so many years ago. 60?or was it perhaps 70 years now? It did not matter.

These humans were but a far cry of those from before. Even their so called meta-humans and super heroes had begun to bore him. Many had gone into retirement. RETIREMENT?!?! The very thought set the a great fire in his heart. As though retirement and escape from their duties was an option for these dregs. Lanterns, Amazons, Aliens of other worlds. They had showed so much promise, but he supposed they weren't to blame as it was their darker counter parts. When had been the last time, a foe had risen from the shadows? Or dared to show their faces? Had they been beaten so utterly?

If these mortals were not up to the task, then he would have to do so himself. This had always been a measure of last resort. One that he never thought he would need to use. Such were the fates, cruel mistresses that they were. His hands had been forced, and if he were to survive, then a new war would need to be brought about. All he needed was the Heart.

Ares turned away from the balcony, making his way through the crowds of people. For reasons the mortals could not explain, they felt the need to keep their distance from this brooding man, that exhumed violence. Several of those with weaker minds, would later succumb to the air of blood lust that emanated from the War God, and perform feats of blood letting that would put any serial killer to shame.

(I hope it's okay if I just jump in here. maybe help get this rolling a bit more till others join.)

She didn't even know why she bothered coming to be the place. At first she thought that it could be a little interesting. Maybe even learn a thing or two she might not have known before. She did find the bit with the titan's a little interesting when she had gone by it. "I bet that was quite the spectacle to have seen." Domina thought aloud as she brushed her dyed red hair over her shoulder.
Moving further in, she felt a sudden presence that had sent a delightful shiver down her spine. That sudden urge she was familiar with to. When she felt like just tearing into someone. She refrained for now, but maybe later she'd indulge in it. Right now, she had brought her attention to the being that seemed to just radiate this air of compulsive violence to those around him. While everyone else seemed to move out of his way, she took to tailing him. Standing out like a sore thumb in the parted crowd, and in her exuberantly crimson outfit.

(I'll join in myself. I'll be using Earth 2 Jay Garrick for this, maybe even Hawkman,)

It was easy to see why this place had been all over the news recently. It was huge! He was almost overwhelmed by the sheer size, the idea of it. Jay never considered himself that much of a man for history, but he always had a strong respect for it. You had to learn from the past, to shape the future. And that was why he was here now.

His powers, the Speed of Mercury, whom the Greeks called Hermes, was a gift from the very god himself. In his dying moments, the Messenger of the Gods had given him his grace, entrusting him with his power so that he could helped shape the world. Sometimes, he was still not sure if Hermes had made the right choice. Sometimes, he doubted himself. But that was only natural wasn't it? Jay thought so, to doubt showed concern, it showed care. And he very much did care.

That was why he was here now, to learn all that he could about the Greeks. About Mercury, better known as Hermes. Sure, he had read up on him before, actively burning through every book he could and finding anything worthy of note posted on the Internet. But this was something different altogether. Walking through the Odyssey was like travelling back to the past itself. It was a wholesome experience, that he was glad to be part of.

Magic. He could smell it in the air. He could taste it. And it was now his own violent emanation of the art. No, this was someone else. He sniffed his nose once, twice, and a third time. It was not a required action, but it made him feel more....earthly in a since. Two sources of magic. One had a sour taste to it, a darker blend that stank of foulness that border lined upon witch craft. Perhaps it was a witch, or a necromancer if his senses were correct.

The other one however was more familiar, more refined, yet overflowing. It was more familiar than he thought. Hermes. That couldn't be right though? Hermes, or as he had gone by in his last days, Mercury, had been dead for quite sometime. Slain at the hands of that accursed New God Darkseid. His magical presence had no right to be here. Unless of course."A Champion?" He licked his lips in anticipation. This would indeed be interesting? Who then had Hermes chosen? Was he to try and impede his own plans? This would be amusing.

But first, the witch. What did she want? He would find out first. It was easy enough to know that she had been following him. It didn't take a master sorcerer to sense her presence, as horrid of a job she did a lousy job of concealing it.Of course, she was the only person trailing behind when everyone else was smart enough to move aside. He turned the corner at the end of the hallway that lead into an exhibit regarding the Battle of Marathon. As soon as she trailed after him and turned as well, she would find that he was simply gone...only to appear behind her an instant later.

"And who are you?" He asked her blatantly, his voice filled with a certain curiosity.
