Damir approached the edgings of the clearing, seeing only by the bright, full moon. He was very positive when it hit his pelt, he glowed almost as bright as it, itself. The warm summer breeze shifted and he caught a slight wiff of exactly who he wanted to see. Smiling fondly, and feeling pangs of excitement and nostalgia deep in his stomach, Dami picked up the pace straight into the clearing. He really had nothing to fear in these lands, especially with a friend so close by.

Duff sat quietly atop a hilltop in the clearing, as she had grown accustomed to doing almost every night. There was something peaceful and comforting about the stars above, and as she sat with her spaded tail curled about her in a cat like manner gazing up at them she couldn't help but be overcome with the awe and wonderment. She hummed softly to herself, a tropical tune she had herd at the luau she had visited the year before, completely oblivious to any beings around her. She had come to learn, that though she was not full blooded Kalona, due to her horns and tail she had little to worry about when it came to attackers. Most did not bother with her because of these features, and thus she had no need to worry or pay attention.

He could see her, shining brightly against the stars and sky, and some how, they did nothing but accentuate her beauty. The blue gleamed brightly on her pelt, and the glow of the moon didn't white wash away any of her, like it did everything else around them, but instead reflected back off, creating a glow encircling her form. He stopped and smiled more dearly. He didn't want to disturb her just yet, but just watch. It had been too long since he last saw his friend, and she had grown into a fine young mare. He wondered if he was even still taller. With those horns, who knew! He pondered this and more as he just admired.

A few moments passed.... No, several moments passed as Duff sat idly in silence before a warm breeze swept past her. Instantly a scent that was not her own flooded her nostrils. Though the smell was familiar she couldnt quite place who it belonged to. It seemed to be one she had once known well, but had not smelled in quite some time. Her head whipped around at an alarmingly quick speed as she searched the night for the one that the smell belonged to. She did not have to search very hard; Damir stood in shining brilliance as the silvery moonlight added glow to his pelt. Duff couldnt help but chuckle; no wonder the scent was familiar. It had been a long..... Long time since she had seen anyone from her childhood, and though she had not expected to see any one of her friends again she had to admit that it was a welcoming sight. "Hello!" She called with a soft chuckle.
Roman Foi

He smiled brilliantly, almost brighter than his white, shining coat. That was his greeting. A smile that very few could bring to the surface. He continued forward, up the side of hill, and plopped right next to Duff. He smelled slightly different, but the base was still the same. She was older, so it was expected chemically, she would aged as well. His eyes were full of questions he hoped she would understand. He had faith though, she would.
Thamin

Duff grinned as her old friend plopped down next to her on the hillside and she couldn't help but return the greeting smile. "Quite a while it has been, Damir, since last I saw you." she said quietly as she bumped shoulders with him. She could see his curiosity as he looked to her, see that there were questions, but off the top of her head she could not tell what questions he may be wishing to ask. There were so many possibilities. Not to mention she had many questions of her own. Where had he gone? What adventures had he had? Why had he come back? So many questions.... She offered a soft smile, unsure of what to say. As children they both had been so quiet and timid - and though she knew her own quietness had subsided it seemed as though Damir still did/could not speak. She did not mind, but she was well out of practice at understanding one's body language. She would try though. "You must have many questions...." She stated quietly as she looked to the ground, somewhat ashamed that she could not tell right off the bat what it was that he was curious about.
Roman Foi

His smile changed, but was still pleasantly happy. Now, his smile was understanding and encouraging. It was alright, it had been far too long since she had had to guess what he was thinking. Instead of worrying with the questions, he leaned over and gently tugged on her hair and chuckled. That would be the third time in his life noise had escaped his throat. It was deep, very baritone, probably clashing with his unicorn, "pure" appearance.
Thamin

She was beginning to feel quite sad that she could not tell like she use to, and as her head hung a frown began to form across her maw - and then the tug on her mane came. She looked to see the bright smile and the sadness began to ease from her features. She relaxed even more so as she heard Damir chuckle. So! He could speak! Even if it was only a chuckle it made Duff fully relax; she knew, at least for her when she first began to speak, that it took great trust to do so if one was not use to it. She softly smiled. "Not the same short mane I had as a child, huh?" She shrugged and flicked her tail. "Other than my mane I haven't changed much.... But you! You have changed quite a bit!" She paused an tilted her head curiously. "Your mane doesn't get under your hooves, does it?" It had grown quite a bit since she had last seen him.
Roman Foi

His smile widened as he shrugged. He loved his hair, as much as a hassle it could be. The only he didn't like is the long bangs that were always in his eyes. As if to emphasis this, he blew up his face, trying to reposition them. With no luck, he should head and rolled his eyes. He looked up to her horns and nodded at them, smiling devilishly, as if she were highly dangerous with those things that could crack skulls.
Thamin

"I wouldn't be able to stand bangs either if they hung in my face. I am quite grateful for the braids that keep them back." She paused, whipping her tail about to use it to push his bangs out of his eyes and propped them that way over his horn. She knew it wouldn't last, the moment he moved they would probably fall, but for that moment he wouldn't have to look through them. She scrunched her brow, lost for a moment, before figuring out what it was that he was indicating was her horns. "Oh these? Well, they're just for show.... Never had to use them before." She admitted before she paused and tapped his necklace with her tail. "I dont remember you having this - It is quite lovely and accents you well. Get it from your papa?"
Roman Foi

Damir was grateful, and touched by her gesture. In fact, he noticed he didn't breath at all when she touched his mane. Except it wasn't until she had pulled away did he realize. He felt a pang of sadness, but quickly fell back into what she was saying. It was good she never had to use them. It would be a shame to get blood on them, or in her pretty, dark hair. When asked about his necklace, Damir felt his conflicted emotions cross his face. The down side to not talking was that you normally let your expressions run free, never really thinking they may show something you don't want them to. He missed his dad very much so, but the whole family seemed to be on their separate ways. With a light sigh, Damir turned and frowned a little, nodding solemnly. He caused an ache in his chest that was cold and raw. He hated feeling like that.

Thamin

Duff's ears pinned back as she noticed sadness wash over her friend like a flood. She didnt know circumstances or any events that may have taken place to cause such sadness, and she was unsure as to whether or not she should avoid the topic to ease the situation. She paused for a moment, contemplating. "It is very nice and lovely." She couldnt bring herself to continue to press the subject. In her eyes she could not see how a gift from a loved one could bring sadness; the one that gave you the item obviously cared very much to have bestowed it on you after all. Thinking though she pulled out her own necklace and mask to show Damir. "I dont have anything from family, but I did manage to pick these up at a luau." She paused and put the trinkets on with her tail. "I thought they were awesome when I saw them."
Roman Foi

Damir turned back towards Duff and smiled apologetically. He shouldn't let his negative emotions be shown so much. It wasn't fair to her at all. He smiled more at her new items. They were interesting, that's for sure. The mask reminded him of his mom. Funny how him nor any of his brother wore masks. He nodded his head at the mask and smiled more, nudging his snout up to Duff's check as to say she should try it on for him.
Thamin

Duff pursed her lips as Damir apologized for his sadness. "What have you to apologize for?" She couldnt help but ask, though it was more of a statement than a question. "It isnt bad to show how you feel. It shows sincerity. Anyways...." She offered a soft smile. One thing she had always admired about Damir was that he, timid as he had been as a child, had never let what others thought or how others reacted affect how he showed his emotions. What you saw was what you got, no lies or false pretenses - no pretending. It was something she had wished, as a child, that she had been brave enough to do. She nodded as Damir motioned for her to put on the items. She slipped the necklace that billowed it's eternal ethereal smoke over her head before slipping the mask over her face. Peering out through the eye holes she remembered why she did not wear it 100% of the time, it hindered her peripheral vision. She turned to face Damir, picking up the last of the items, a tiny umbrella, and holding it in her teeth to the side of her mouth. She grinned and tilted her head in a 'what do you think?' manner.
Roman Foi

Damir made funny noises as he pursed his lips closed. He was suppressing his laughter, but only so much could be help back. He actually laughed out loud a few times before smiled adoringly at Duff. She was just so cute! He leaned over and took a wiff of smoke and immediately regretted it. He let out a big sneezy and felt the burning all the way up to his eyes. That wasn't a good idea, he though and rubbed his snout along the shin of his front leg as to clear his nostrils from the smell.
Thamin

Duff could feel the heat of a blush rise to her cheeks as her friend laughed. She dropped her head a little and smiled sheepishly because of this despite the fact that no one could see a blush from her, not only because of the mask but because the red never showed through her ebony coat. For a brief moment she assumed that the items, despite how amazing she had thought they were, made her look quite ridiculous; she was disheartened a bit by it. It had been a good thing though that she had dropped her head rather than turning away otherwise she would have missed the smile that Damir offered. It spoke of anything but amusement at her expense and her mood immediately turned for the better. She raised her head once more, no longer feeling down. She stayed still as Damir leaned over to inspect the items, but as he began to sneeze and rub his nose she jumped. "Are you alright?!?" she asked frantically.
Roman Foi

Damir lifted his head back up, shaking it left and right some, while wriggling his snout like a rabbit. The poor boy looked crossed eyed. What a pitiful sight he was. A few little more sneezes and he was somewhat recovered. He took a big breath and smirked over to Duff, feeling quite embarrassed. He shows his dumber moments more often than he like.
Thamin

Duff shook the mask from her face and pulled the necklace over her head and let them drop to the ground as she leaned in to try and make sure Damir was alright. She took his shaking of his head as his way of telling her that he wasnt okay, and for a moment a deep frown crossed her maw. She didnt know what to do to help though, and was left just sitting there feeling useless. She raised her brow hopefully though as Damir took a deep breath and smirked. Perhaps he was alright after all. "You okay?" She questioned to make sure.
