general guild rules
rules for anything are subject to change whenever.
I may increase or decrease prices, RP requirements, whatever. There will be a notification (it won't just sneak up on y'all outta nowhere), and there will be a reason (like, if way to many people are getting roleplay rank changes out the wazoo and I get crazy-bogged down by it).
obey each thread's and subforum's rules.
do NOT post in any threads by the mule, aniu amarok, unless the title says that it is open.
Some threads will say [closed], some will say [open], and some - like this one - won't say anything at all. If they don't say anything, it means they're never open for posting (except for perhaps occasional updates by staff). If you're confused about something, ask in the Q&A thread, or the regular shop thread. I don't bite. :3 Much.
roleplay rules
rp is encouraged and totally awesome, but not required by any means.
There are definitely perks for roleplayers, such as cheaper breedings, free rank upgrades, etc. However, nothing bad will happen even if you buy a wolf and never return. He will probably get lonely, and then whine and scratch on my sliding glass door and get it all dirty and covered in mud…which is just annoying, but fiiiiine.
for shop-related roleplays (rank upgrade, breeding, etc.), each rp should be at least mildly related to whatever it is that your wolf is trying to achieve, and at least 15 posts by you of about 50ish words each.
So if it's several people going back and forth, it should be a couple of pages of posts. If it's just you, and you wanna have one big story-post, it should be about 500 words. But, honestly, quality over quantity. A complete storyline is worth more than useless padding.
keep things mildly realistic; no magic.
No need to stick to barks and growls, but these wolves aren't psychic, can't fly, and don't know how to summon fireballs (not that they could even if they wanted to).
related to the previous rule, the wolves can talk to each other just fine, but are not able to communicate as efficiently with other animals.
Think of it like trying to talk to someone who speaks a different language.
no god-moding.
at least attempt literacy; no chatspeak in srs roleplays plz lol.
while the wolves have heard of humans, they rarely make contact with them, so they are not currently in the metastory.
it is fine to rp your growing wolf as younger than it is.
It is also fine to RP a wolf at two different ages, if it grows before you finish a previous RP.
you are welcome to include out-of-character chatter in brackets, [[like so]] or ((like this)) but do keep it to a minimum.
Along that line, remember that in-character drama or banter does not necessarily mean that someone has a problem with you out-of-character.
if you have more than three wolves in a roleplay, you don't have to list out all of them.
A tag of (Wolf 1 et.al.) or (Wolf 1 x more) or whatever would be fine.
shop slang
ic :: in-character - threads or subforums that are written strictly from the perspective of the wolves.
ooc :: out-of-character - threads or subforums that are for us, the human owners, and are not for roleplaying or writing in-character.
aniu :: Inuit for "Snow." The plain username "Amarok" was taken, and (like a derp) I didn't even consider just "Amarok mule." So uh…yeah. Doesn't really have anything to do with anything at this point.
amarok :: Inuit for "wolf," and also the name of an Inuit wolf god that the wolves of this shop regard as their creator.
nuna :: Inuit for "land," which is what the wolves call the valley that they live in.
rank :: a position that a wolf holds (within a pack, or on its own) that is denoted by line art. Examples: Alpha, Gamma, Lone.
role :: a position that a wolf holds that is not denoted by line art, but is there purely for roleplay purposes. Example: Storyteller, Warrior, Seer.
