On the surface: Rafael is an enigma. While happy, cheerful and an over all awesome gal, she can be rather blunt and to the point. She doesn't like being forced to accept others opinions or views. She lives a generally care free life, but with a guarded heart. She can be rather stubborn and Tauros headed as well.
But deep down: Rafael was born originally in Johto, but because of medical complications with her mother, they moved to Unova and her mother had to literally move into the hospital. Rafael lived with her father in Castelia up until she turned eleven, where she left to go on her own journey. She traveled around a lot, training and then finally decided to go home for a year. She is now determined to go out again and try to find a cure for her mother.
