This weeks theme is a bit more challenging. Here you need to find a spell that would include an item from nature such as acorns twigs, or leaves. It can also contain locations in nature such as a spell involving a river or the ocean. Wild herbs work well for like (like dandelions, mugwort, and "weeds"). Good luck.

Spell Name: Lightning Magic Spell Author: Scott Cunningham Book Source: Earth Power
Spell information:
Now, down to business. All amulets, talismans, lucky charms, and personal power objects can be charged with the glancing energies that rain down from the sky.
Take the objects to be charged (only objects that you feel require the electrical energy of lightning, such as those concerned with healing, protection and so on) outside and place them in an area where they will be free from the possibility of washing them away, but still fully exposed to the rain and lightning.
Do not place them upon the roof of a house or other structure. You might wish to tie them to a tree, or place then in a large container. Do whatever is necessary to ensure their safety during the charging process.
When the storm has passed, bring them inside, dry carefully, and put in a safe place. The are highly charged and should be vibrating with energy.

I sort of took it as Thor cleaning the area of negative energies and blessing the trip. Granted that rain made getting the fire started that first night and the second night a bit difficult.

This is probably one of the longest spells in this book
Spell Name: A shell Spell Spell Author: Scott Cunningham Book Source: Earth, Air, Fire, & Water
Spell information:
This is a multi-purpose ritual which which can be used for love, money, or health.
Choose a beach that you know usually has plenty of shells rolling around on the sand. Go to the Ocean an hour or so before high tide. Look at the waves and say these or similar words:
"By Surf and sand By wave and Sea By Foam and Land A shell for me"
Walk the beach-preferably where the waves have only just kissed the sand. You'll be looking for a "clam" shell; ie, half of a bivalve (two shelled shell). These are common on beaches around the world, so it shouldn't be to much of a struggle to find one. Choose one that's at least one and a half inches long; the bigger, the better. Small shells simply wont work for this rite.
When you've found a shell that sppeals to you, pick it up, saying these or similar words:
"Shell that has tumbled on the beach, Bring what I need within my reach"
Wash the shell in Ocean water to remove sand and seaweed particles. Return home. (Once there, don't be tempted to rise the shell in fresh water. The salt is the ocean's blessing.) Place the shell on a table in your place of magic. Assemble the following items appropriate to your need (one shell per spell, of course): For love, a pink candle and rose petals. For money, a green candle and cloves. For health, a blue candle and ground sage. Only a small amount of the herb will be needed. Place it in a bowl. Touch the herb and say appropriate words, such as:
"Love, Love, Love for me"
or
"Money, Money, come to me"
or
"Health, Health, heal me".
Visualize your need as you touch the herb. Charge it with personal power. Place a pinch or two of the herb in the shell. As you do so say,
"I place love (or money, or health) with in the sea."
Light the candle of the appropriate color. Hold it upright and visualize your need until the candle has begun to burn down. Tilt it and drip its wax over the herb within the shell, slowly covering it over. This process will take some time.
When the herb is fully covered with wax, pinch or snuff out the candle flame and put away all items. Place the shell in a small sea-blue bag or wrap in a length of blue cloth and carry with you until your need has manifested.

Variant One: Storm Drumming
Items Needed: Yourself A Drum & Beater.
Not so much a spell but more a method to alter one's state of consciousness and something I love doing anyway.
Firstly you need to make sure you have a drum with a synthetic skin, hide drums hate the rain, and a beater that is non metallic an will withstand the weather.
Second thing you need, clothing that is easy to move about in and doesn't get too heavy when it's water logged.
Thirdly and finally you need a thunderstorm.
When the thunderstorm starts, go out suitably attired and with your drum in hand. Pick yourself a steady beat to drum, nothing to fast. Move your feet to the beat you drum and go with what your body dictates to you. Feel the energy of your drum and the storm course within you, with enough practice it's possible to drum yourself into a state of ecstasy, or that state of mind found when you experience lucid dreaming, by building up and holding energy like a rather large battery. if you are going to go this route make sure you have an intent in mind ready for when you release the energy you've raised back out into the world.

Vox_Draconis Nice, did you have a good trip? I did have a good trip. Thank you. I got some clarity on some things and got some brainstorming done for my business. I figured out how I am going to stand out from most of the online witch and pagan magical supply stores. I didn't necessarily get the spiritual development I wanted to get done, but there were some things that happened. Vox_Draconis I like the vagueness of this 'spell' and I've got a few ideas on how to adapt it.. I look forward to seeing them. I actually had an adaptation in charging my tinctures.

Variant Two: Storm Water
Items Needed: A Thunderstorm A Large Bowl A Blue Glass Bottle Sea Salt Funnel
Step one: Put a bowl outside, somewhere where it won't get knocked over during the storm
Step Two: Wait, while you are waiting to gather the rain water place a few salt crystals into the blue glass bottle
Step Three: Once the rain has stopped bring in the bowl of storm water and using the funnel carefully pour it into the bottle it for later use in a spell to give it more oomph. Keep out of direct sunlight.
Okay so not really a spell, I will probably create a fifth variant.

Variant 3: The Empower Shower
Items needed:
A thunderstorm Yourself Lightweight clothing that won't be heavy when waterlogged. (or skyclad if you prefer and if circumstances can accommodate this)
The idea behind this is that you can empower objects with the energy of the storm so hell why not empower yourself.
It's best that you've got an absolute howling whoolie of a storm with a lot of heavy rain (but not hail, that hurts!)
Go out into the storm and stand, sit, make yourself comfortable in the rain. Look for the lightning, listen to the thunder and feel the energy of the storm seep into you with each raindrop that lands on your form. Feel yourself being energized with the power of the storm. Direct the energy through your form empowering you to do positive things in your life (you decide what) When you feel yourself brimming with energy head inside (and don't stay out in the storm too long you don't want to get ill!)

Vox_Draconis All in all sounds like a productive trip biggrin It was. It was also very enjoyable. The question as to if we will continue to do business there again was answered lol. She held on to a sun hat I lost. Turns out it has been left there. She gave it back to us our first day there. Vox_Draconis I look forward to seeing what you come up with as well. I have a few ideas for this spell. I think it works with a few different themes and concepts I have in mind. The adaptation I was thinking about was to your spell you choose. There was a thunderstorm one night and I consciously directed the energy I could from the storm into the tinctures to charge them.

I wonder if this would work as a release of fear of Thunder storms. Having lighting strike a tree that had it fallen in a slightly different direction would have crushed my parents Cabin with me in it... kinda makes you fearful, respectful, and in awe of that power.

I think to complete the spell all it needs is a "use bottled water as need for extra power in other spells by applying to body ect". Its more of a power up potion but I think it counts. It has additional potential. GOD DAMN childhood habit for the spelling of water wont go away when I am typing fater than I can actually check online... Water for me was always Watter (wat-ter)... so when I am typing fast that is still how it automatically come out lol
