Rules, Definitions, History, and other information will be posted and potentially edited here. If you still have questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Guild Rules:

1. Mind Gaia's TOS. This won't just keep you out of trouble, it will also help keep this guild open.
2. Proper Role-Play Etiquette is a must.
3. Trolling and Cyberbullying will never be tolerated. You will be banned or entirely evicted and reported.

Official Combat Rules:

1. Stats are there as a guideline to help prevent cheating, but they are not an end all. A cleaver use of what you have can help out a good deal.
2. Leaving battle prior to its end will result in forfeit.
3. Terrain, items, and skills will go a long way but you cannot use in battle that which has not already been on your profile at the beginning of combat.
4. Metagaming is a huge no no, you will be forfeit your battle.
5. If you are doing a PvP battle, you need to adhere to the rules you both have set out of respect for the other person. If you violate the conditions, they have every right to call bull and ask a mod to step in, or otherwise decide that they don't have to follow that rule themselves. Communication between players is highly encouraged on this.

Definition of Terms:

Stats: Statistical Information, for example: Speed, Agility, Defense, Strength, Mana, Intelligence, and Dexterity.

Character Recycling: When you tire of your character, or your character dies permanently, you may take all of your earned Stats, Ability Points, and Items and make an entirely new character.

Ability Points: These are used to gain skills and level them up. You may either keep your character's abilities or change them upon Character Recycle.

Profile Skin: The form used to create a character or recreate them.

Role-Play Etiquette: agreed post order, two day waiting period, no metagaming, no god moding, copy cat characters designed to mock another character are a no go, no power playing, and show basic respect for the other players even if you don't care for their character or character's story.

God Moding: A disrespectful type of role-playing that only n00bs use, such as controlling the other person's character without their permission, using skills outside your roster/profile or in a way that is more than you can legitimately have [over powered, too fast, too many logical moves for your situation], ignoring opponent moves that should have logically taken your character down or at least seriously injured them, auto dodging without the speed and agility to back you up, making it so that you never get hit, but the other person always gets hit, and anything else in that vein.

Power Playing: An irritating practice of going after newer and weaker characters for the sole purpose of curb stomping them or killing them. It is one thing to kill because it is in your character's nature, rivalry, accident, etc, but it is an entirely other thing to actively alienate other players on purpose. However, if they instigate it, then they asked for it. Very simply put, while your character may be a serial killer or a blood lust warrior, it is a jerk who attacks to throw their weight around. If this becomes a pattern, then we will be forced to end it.

Blood Lust: A character who not only enjoys fighting, but craves battle. They do not all need to be blood knights and murderous oafs, and they can have personal lives, including peaceful personal lives. They just have no issue with fighting, even their sparring can end with blood shed ranging from minor to major. Those around them are encouraged to have a healer on hand. You earn this by the frequency of combat that results in injury and or death - read if your character has a pattern of fighting for pleasure or rage.

Trusted One: A character who is characterized by their compassion for others and leadership skills. They are the opposite of the Blood Lust, but not necessarily incompatible.

Sukhan: Overlord of the Fofaf Empire. The female term is Sutra. They hold absolute power over the Empire, but can be ousted by 5 Majors.

5 Majors: The Fofaf Empire is ruled by not only a Sukhan and or Sutra, it also is broken into 5 lesser Empires. Their rulers are called the Five Major Emperors. These Emperors hold absolute power over their subordinate nations in any way they see fit, answering only to the Sukhan and or Sutra. It takes 2 to propose changes Grand Empire wide, 3 to gain a majority vote, 5 to oust the Sukhan and or Sutra. Together they may select the Sukhan and Sutra by majority vote.

Fofaf Empire: It is structured like this: Grand Empire, which covers anything in their territories and nations; Major Empires, which is splitting the Grand Empire into 5 powers, The Gred, Grec, Fedison, Dromea, and Atlantians. Inside of them are minor nations and kingdoms.

Rank: You may claim to have noble or royal ancestry, but still hold no rank at all. It is something that you earn.

Economics:

Iota: The smallest denomination, the same as a dime.
Trinket: Ten Iotas make a Trinket, the same as $1
Copper: Ten Trinkets make a Copper, the same as $10
Silver: Two Coppers make a Silver, the same as $20
Gold: Five Silvers make a Gold, the same as $100
Platinum: Ten Gold makes one Platinum, the same as $1000

You may put it in the real world equivalent if it makes it easier on you. Easiest way to translate 1G 1S 1C 5T and 2I is this: $131.52. In RP these are the coins being used, there isn't any paper money. On your profiles, however, it will be expressed in real world dollars to simplify things for us since we are not in their world.

Becoming a merchant is a simple matter of purchasing shop space and having items to sell. Pricing is determined by you, but if somebody undercuts you, then you can change your prices or stay firm. If inflation begins to come into play, we reserve the right to institute NPC thieves and Tax Collectors to come along to enjoy in the bounty.

Stocking your item space is a simple matter of what do you have that you wish to sell. You are only limited by the number of slots for how much variety you have, but not the quantity of said items - as long as you actually have these items to sell. So if a monster drops or you mine or craft something that you do not need, but wish to sell, by all means include it. You may even sell your items. It is possible to arrange a trade between characters through the shops, or by rping it out and doing an update report. These sales do not automatically require you to pay any form of taxes, but whatever you paid or went through to get it is considered your cost, with a few possible exceptions.

Monster Drops:

Monsters, beasts, and NPCs may occasionally have something that rewards you for defeating them. This is a monster drop, and many of these can be used as components in crafting things, or may even be useful items themselves. Such items can include wool, meat, fangs, venom sacs, swords, and even jewels. A mod will do a random number generation of the number of items we have as things you can find, and when that item's number is up, then it will be that item.

Finding Items:

Every once in a blue moon your character will 'discover something'. You will be notified by the mod staff. We will keep you posted on the mechanisms for that. For now it is by notification only in the thread that you are rping in. A mod will do a random number generation of the number of items we have as things you can find, and when that item's number is up, then it will be that item.

Digging and Mining:

Actively hunting for items hidden in the dirt can occasionally yield something interesting for you. It could be an item, a component, or possibly an artifact. When you are posting that you are digging, roll a 100 side die to determine if you found something. You will be notified by the mod staff. We will keep you posted on the mechanisms for that. For now it is by notification only in the thread that you are rping in. A mod will do a random number generation of the number of items we have as things you can find, and when that item's number is up, then it will be that item.

Crafting:

Components can be dug up, found, won, or bought and then crafted into something new and useful. Quality is determined by star ranking from one to five stars gaia_star

Farming/Gathering:

Farming and Gathering are back breaking, but rewarding work. Certain groups are particularly skilled at it and will produce better product [Floris, Siamac]. These may be consumed directly for restoring certain stats or cooked into something. Some can be used as medicinal ingrediants or componants. Some are not even food but special types of plants, restricted to certain groups].

Other ways to make money:

Jobs:

Jobs are special character development quests that can be done over and over again. Not only will you gain job experience from it, but every 500 JXP [Job Experience Points] you gain, you gain a corresponding reward for your work. Some jobs do not reward in money but rather in items, some in strictly money, and others both. It depends on which job and how high your job level is. You can have up to two active jobs going on for your character at a time. For example, you are a farmer, but you also have a job as a basket weaver. You may also select a primary career path. Education level will determine what jobs are available to your character to select. Being a regular employee will also net you a jop bonus. Pay is collected via update report.

Quests:

Quests will reward your character with things like money, items, XP, JXP, etc. Quest difficulty will correspond to the reward being offered.

Other:

Occasionally, we may give away some money or items. The bank is the safest place to store your funds, and net a small amount of interest on a monthly basis. It is also possible that there may be random events that involve money.

Fofaf General Information:

Fofaf Empire:

A complex empire composed of five lesser empires. They are ruled by a Sukhan and or a Sutra. Their politics are as complex as their structure, but not so complex that it cannot be learned. There are small pockets where democracy and other systems exist, but ultimately it is an imperial aristocracy. How it is broken down is dependant on the major culture controlling each branch of the empire. The peoples are many and varied. Most of them are either draconian or Meldaforms, but there are other races.

Grec Empire:

Grec are mostly composed of Feline Melda [Most fofaf are Meldaforms] nations. Liger people are called the Greccoas [Grec Kingdom] for example, and are the dominant nation of the Grec Empire. A lesser group is called the Siamac [Siamac Tribes], they are more akin to human sized house cats and are of a slim build. They are not a nation, but a shattered people that live in colonies and clans. There are many kinds of peoples living among them, not restricted to felines, but most are. Their territory is a continent called Graun and a few islands and minor outlying lands. Theirs is a developing territory, with trains reaching most of the major areas, but the majority of the towns must be reached via road. It is a mountainous territory with only a single prairie on its south eastern coast.

Gred Empire:

Gred are mostly composed of Canine and Lupine Melda nations. They are headed by the aggressive and wild at heart Gred Wolves, who dominate over the structure of the entire empire by encouraging competition, ranks from Alpha to Omega, automatic drafting into wars of all able bodied adults, and a rich culture which encourages pack thinking and considering the needs of the pack first above one's own needs. Other peoples in this nation are other wolves, coyotes, foxes, and even bears. Their continent is Haru, a land that is still mostly wild, dotted with ruins and settlements. A few cities are here, though.

Fedison Empire:

Bird Melda nations strictly are among these people. They are led by an absolute emperor whose word goes. Individual peoples can vary greatly as much as there are different kinds of birds in existance. Males are often considered dandies among the Fofaf due to their birdlike trait of having the males gussy up for the attention of the females, while the females are drabber in color and generally quieter in nature compared to the males. It would not be out of place for one to see a male dressed in brightly colored flamboyant clothing with their crests or chests decked out with glistening gemstones or anything shiney. They own the highly metropolitan Roc Continent.

Atlantian Empire:

A mostly maritime empire, which possesses a huge swath of islands on the eastern side of the Grand Imperial waters. They are the Floris, Frax, Otfins, and others. The Floris are the most human like, almost elfish, but long lost their elven traits thanks to interbreeding with the Meldaform peoples. They are brilliant at farming and have a certain agrarian quality about them. The Frax are kind of like a cross between foxes and bats with a slight feline characteristic, they were slated for the Atlantians due to too much debate between the Fedison, Gred, and Grec Empires. They are cunning trades people who enjoy the mercantile and gathering life. Otfins are as they sound, otter like people with dolphin like capabilities - excellent swimmers and fishers, they are the back bone of the fishing industry. Their continent long vanished, but they currently live in a massive archipelago of some five to twenty thousand islands, depending on if it is high tide or not. Legend has it that one of their past emperors, in an effort to try to save his people from an impeding disaster placed the landmass within a pearl, along with people, animals, and plants in an effort to preserve what he could. Others believe it simply sank beneath the waves after a great earthquake, leaving only the mountain tops to create islands. If one were to go beneath the waters and look, it is amazingly flat aside from some volcanic rock and a few boulders, as though the continental shelf had been scraped clean of features.

Dromea Empire:

The Dromea are an empire of draconian peoples ranging in size and shape, as well as type. Most of them are aligned to some element of nature or environment and grouped as such. The Magi in particular are separated into Fire, Earth, Wind, Water/Sea, Stone, Ice, and Snow. There could be others, but there are not many willing to get close to the Magi to find out the differences. They are capable of taking on human like forms in order to fit into smaller spaces. There are also the Impska, an Imp like dragon that walks on its hind legs. They are dangerous and crafty, but whimsical. The kiltorians can be heard howling at sunset and sunrise, but are seldom seen. One could traipse over their nesting grounds without realizing it thanks to their prolific burrowing. They are among the strangest kind, their natural form resembling a cross between several dragon types even though they are not true dragons.

The Ruling Classes:

Regardless of Empire, they are ruled by an elite ruling class referred to as The Solielites [so-LEEL-ites]. This is the aristocracy. However, without a title or rank, individually a Solielite is simply known by their primary form of choice. Officially, they have the designation of having a mixture of multiple nationalities thanks to flexible marriage standards in the Empire and the aristocracy's belief that intermixing is key to keeping the Empire as a whole together and retains their power. How they behave is on an individual basis and really depends on personal style. Even the Five Majors and the Imperial Family are known for being very different from one generation to the next. Among the Dromea their equivalent is the Metalic Dragons. They are a combination of most if not all kinds of dragon, and have passed down their better traits due to the draconian behavior of aiming for the strongest, swiftest, smartest, and best of their kind for mates.

Dromea: The most dominant one is not only the one of high birth, but is assumed to be the most powerful among them - requiring them to be able to back this claim up. This is true for all of the kingdoms and the Emperor himself. Even then, high popularity among the people is a big plus for maintaining power. Dracano is divided according to natural groupings of dragons - though some may have overlapping territories.

Grec: Their different nations and tribes handle things differently wherever you go, but generally speaking most observe a strict hierarchy. There are specific royal families for each and they expect the hierarchy to be followed. Graun is divided into regions, then into provinces, then forests, then towns, villages, and territories. The Emperor and Empress is at the head, followed by their heir, next are their other offspring, other recognized royal relatives, High Council, kings and queens, royal councils if they have one, alerics [provincial rulers], chiefs and tribal leaders and village councils, all the way down to the commoners.

Gred: The emperor and empress of the gred rule their empire as one. By the law of the ruling lines the emperor or empress (depending on which one is of blood) must marry before they can rule the empire and must always have a wife or husband threw out their rein. Only a member of the alpha pack (This pack consists of the imperial family of the gred and their closest friends.) may challenge the emperor and empress at anytime. They are divided into many kingdoms, nations, and packs who constantly fight for a higher status within the empire. Just as the individuals vie for rank in the packs. It is believed that the better the leader is the better the pack is.

Fedison: Whether or not they have different kingdoms, a council, tribes or even flocks are at the whim of the emperor. Even the heir to the throne may change from one son to another. It is extremely rare for a girl to become the heir and even rarer for them to take the throne. The current emperor has the empire divided into kingdoms that they call flocks. Though the various flock leaders rule their people as they see fit; though, the emperor still has absolute power.

Nationalities:

All Fofaf have a human form and a beast form. Being a Melda means that they are capable of taking on an animal form, either partially or completely. Being a Floris means they, unless they have other bloodlines mixed in, are bound to a human form.

Stats:

HP: Hit Points How much damage you can take during a battle. Once you hit 0 your character is dead.
Endurance is how much stamina you have. If your END reaches 0 you effectively pass out.
Speed is how fast you can move physically.
Agility is your ability to stop, turn, or jump while moving fast. It is your reaction time.
Defense: How much of an attack or attacks you can take or deflect before it attacks your HP
Strength: Your physical power
Mana: is the strength of spirit, essence of 'magic', etc you have. Different cultures in the story will view it differently. Mana is what is used to control your elements, determines your suitability to wield a redblade, etc.
Intelligence: This is increased with learning new skills, crafting, and other ways. It is mostly a 'job' skill and helps aid in the quality of your products.
Dexterity is your fine motor skills, affects how well you make certain things. With an increase in Dexterity comes an increase in quality in products and how well you handle a knife. This one, like intelligence, has a lot more to do with life skills than straight up fighting ability. While fighting can be considered a life skill in terms of where your skills are listed in your profile, I am referring to things like jobs and quests and crafting.

More on the difference between Speed and Agility

The Flash vs Toph the Earth Bender

The Flash is dashing towards Toph. Toph brings up a wall. In order to turn in time, he must also be agile enough to turn in time, run up the wall, or leap over the wall - assuming that Toph's wall can appear faster than he can reach her. It is her agility that has given her this upper hand in this case if his is lower than hers - causing him to slam into the wall if he has less than half of her agility or need to dodge it if he has more than half of her Agility.
