History: Kaya was born to a community of ice people that the Ice King created, and forgot about shortly after the crown took over Simon's mind completely. Quickly realizing their "king" was incompetent and would get them all killed, the sentient beings moved underground to form a Democracy.
Over the years, the "Democracy" turned into a dictatorship led by "The Council", a group of the oldest Ice People, who preached "religious" dogmas, and who denied their people any way to expand their minds, trying to beat curiosity out of the mass of people they led to keep them docile and willing to follow them.
Everyone who lived in the Ice Cave followed them out of fear, and out of not knowing what else to do. They weren't allowed to learn anything, because, as Kaya soon realized, Knowledge is Power, and the more power she had, the weaker The Council looked. She secretly taught herself to read and write, growing bolder and smarter as the years went on.
Kaya publicly denounced The Council, and she was brought up on charges of treason. At the trial, she told them she wanted to learn and discover new things outside of the protection of the cave, shocking everyone who lived there.
Her punishment was exile, and she was thrown out of the Ice Kingdom forever. Kaya sometimes misses her icy cave, and her parents, but for the most part is happy to be rid of The Council's overbearing and closed-minded attitude.
She now wanders the land of Ooo, studying everything she can from everyone she can get to speak to her, which unfortunately isn't many, due to the Ice People's similarity to the Ice King.
Weapon/Powers: Fists, but is capable of using a simple slingshot. Prefers smarts over brawn, and would rather not fight if she doesn't have to.
Personality: Kaya is very curious about everything, and likes to ask a lot of questions. However, she sometimes doesn't know what kind of questions are and aren't okay, and that can lead to her asking some things that people find to be a little invasive.
Not being allowed to ask questions and experiment for most of her life, Kaya goes whole-hog when it comes to science now. She tries to learn everything she can.
Habits: Paces when she thinks, as well as organizing her thoughts verbally. (She talks while she's thinking.) She also likes to write everything down, and sucks on the end of her writing utensil when she's bored.
Quirks: Likes to look up at the sky and talk about the position of the moon or sun. Compulsively interjects facts she's learned into conversations where someone's telling a story. (If someone said they killed a dragon, she'd interject that there's no way they could kill something so big by themselves.)
Fears: Claustrophobia, looking stupid, fire.
Likes: Science, asking questions, exploring and discovering new places, warm tea and cookies.
Dislikes: "Because I said so", bitter drinks, people who won't listen no matter what.
Describe your character's voice: Soft, feminine, but tends to get a little high-pitched when she's excited. Like this, only a little louder.
Describe your character's walk: Slow, methodical steps, with a nice sway of the hips. She likes to leave her hands at her sides, and they swing back and forth slightly as she walks. She tends to look more at her surroundings rather than where she's going.
Describe your character's style: Likes things that are nice to look at, but practical. However, if push comes to shove, she'd take practicality and comfort over looks.
