Name: {First and last. Middle is optional. Western names are preferred. For the love of Christ do not use a Japanese name unless your character is actually from Japan.}
Age: {Just make sure you aren't prepubescent or past mid-twenties and you should be fine.}
Gender: {Pretty simple. You don't have to stick to the gender binary, but it might make it a bit easier. If you want to portray a character as an LGBT member, PLEASE do not go off of stereotypes. They are very offensive to your gay captain.}
Occupation: {More likely than not, you will start out as a student. Occupations can be picked up around the school, both to supplement or to stand apart from the school's adventuring income.}
Appearance: {A short paragraph on your character's appearance. Include (relative) height and weight, as well as body type, facial features, and hair. Also include what kinds of clothing they like to wear (not an exact outfit), including color and style, for different occasions. If you really, really feel the need to include a picture, you may do so as a link. I'd prefer you didn't.}
Personality: {A short paragraph on what makes your character their own person. Include likes and dislikes, mannerisms, and general personality type. Keep away from clichés: your character is a real person, with real fears, insecurities, and traits!}
Biography: {Keep it simple. A meaty paragraph is all I really want, but you can go a little over that if you'd really like. Please keep away from clichéd backgrounds (ie. poor, orphaned, abusive childhood). If you'd like to use one of these in a background, make sure you do it with meaning and not to make your character more "relatable" or "pitiable".}
Pokémon:
{A staff member will fill this in after you claim your first Pokémon.}

Name: Lucas Deen
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Occupation: Student
Appearance: Lucas' family hails from Northern Italy, and he displays the fair hair and eyes associated with that region. His eyes are a pale hazel. He's a little shorter than average, but that's okay with him. In terms of clothes, he tends to dress simply but stylishly: he prefers clothing that shows off his slim figure and prefers long pants to shorts. He doesn't like to wear a lot of different tops all at once, and so he usually limits himself to a t-shirt and a light jacket at the most. When dressing formally, he refuses to wear anything but a full suit, and like to wear loud, contrasting colors in his shirt and tie.
Personality: In a word, Lucas is loud. He wears loud colors, speaks in a loud voice, and is blunt and straightforward in his dealings with people. He is overly friendly, to the point where it could be annoying to some. Most, however, tend to enjoy it, or at least tolerate it. He laughs at almost anything and his laugh is as loud as the rest of him. However, he also has a bit of a short temper and will often resort to passive-aggressive silence if someone has rubbed him the wrong way. He loves junk food, video games, nice clothes, and being the center of attention, and hates annoying voices, ugly clothes, self-absorbed people, and being ignored. Although most would not expect it, he is quite intelligent, and is one of the few Trainers selected to attend the Academy based on his academic performance and not on his battling prowess.
Biography: Lucas comes from a life of being the center of attention. He is his parents' only child, and with his medical condition, he only solidified the focus on him. He was the queen bee at every school he went to, and often stole the spotlight at any event he went to. This isn't to say that Lucas is shallow or self-absorbed; he actively despises narcissism. He just enjoys praise and being liked so much that he actively tries to make everyone like him. To this end, he can spend up to an hour getting his appearance right before going out, and spends a lot of his income on clothes, face scrubs, shampoos, and hair product. He is a very hard worker, although many would say that he doesn't have the attention span to get anything done, and has been in the top five ranks of his class since grade school. He gleefully accepted the scholarship to Pokémon Academy as he heard what a big school it was: what a challenge to his social skills!
Lucas has colitis, a gastro-intestinal disorder, and has to avoid eating foods high in acids, as well as many sweets. It's not like he needed any sweets in the first place, though.

Name: Alan Murray
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Occupation: Student
Appearance: Alan inherited his mother's brown hair, which he grows long, layered, and shaggy past his shoulders, allowing it to curl out and up at the ends. Alan inherited his father's light-brown eyes. His body build is slightly muscular, average height, a little thin, and he is fairly hairy, aside from his back and face. Alan comes from North Texas, and sounds like it, but rarely does he dress like it. He prefers basketball shorts and cargo shorts and loves going barefoot above all else, and dresses mainly in black, gray, dark gray, and royal blue t-shirts that are fairly baggy. Alan will also wear some form of jewelry every now and again. His idea of formal wear is a solid black t-shirt, a pair of seriously faded blue jeans that are frayed at the bottom, and a pair of beat-up cowboy boots.
Personality: Alan is a strange mixture of either quiet and observant, or energetic, goofy, playful, and adventureous, with both personality types taking over in different situations. Although he's better with Pokemon than with people, Alan is kind and trustworthy to a fault, and would do almost anything to help a friend, or a random stranger, for that matter, which has gotten him in trouble before. When attempting to accomplish things, Alan is the determined, never give-up type and pushes himself to achieve his goals. When Alan is told he'll fail or can't do something, he will work even harder and push himself to extremes to prove them wrong, and he will do better than he ever could've otherwise. However, though he tells nobody, Alan is very insecure about his abilities and potential, and is constantly doubts himself at every turn. In fact, Alan is the one person that can tell him that he'll fail, and not get him fired up, and this frustrates Alan further, as he feels this is the one roadblock he can never avoid. Alan enjoys music, Pokemon, exploring, fishing, and thunderstorms. He dislikes bullies, feeling trapped or tied down, being controlled, and personal failure.
Biography: Alan was never the best at anything, but he poured his heart and soul into everything that he did. Unlike most aspiring trainers his age, Alan didn't attend the Trainer's School, believing that forming special bonds with Pokemon was far more important as a trainer than conventional book learning, instead deciding to study Pokemon up close and personal by interacting with them in the wild. However, Alan didn't completely disregard the basics; he studied battle theory, tactics, status effects, and the like almost every day with intensity, but he just put more time and effort into his personal interactions with Pokemon. Almost every second of every day was devoted to studying Pokemon; observing them, drawing them, playing simple music for them, playing with them once they got used to seeing Alan so often, and some nights living with them... to the point that people mistook him for a Pokemon professor, rather than an unconventional aspiring Pokemon master. Naturally, this made Alan's human interactions rare and sometimes strange, but his relationships with Pokemon blossomed early and stayed strong, so when Alan became old enough, he moved out into the wild, built a simple hut, and lived with Pokemon, his days full of adventure and exploration, until an invitation to Pokemon Academy mysteriously showed up on his doorstep one day. Excited at the prospect of a whole new adventure and a chance to learn from Pokemon trainers all around the world, Alan gladly accepted the invitation.

(( Lucas and Alan appear to be antitheses. I like it! I'm a little iffy on the bio, but whatever. You can claim any of the starters in the shelter, although I still have to generate seven more. Accepted! c: ))

Name: Sabrina (Sawyer) Rosencrantz
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Occupation: Student (TA for Co-ordinator Classes)
Appearance: Long, straight, platinum hair kept high in a pony. She always leaves her side swept bangs down, they often cover one of her golden eyes; the only trait that no one in either side of her family can claim. Sawyer is a slim, but well toned woman. She does quite a bit of dance, and so has strong muscled legs and arms. She walks gracefully, and proudly with her head always held high. Sawyer is usually dressed to the nines! Fashionable, stylish, Sawyer would never be caught in sweat pants! She has one item that she wears every day without fail. It is a simple charm bracelet with several charms (a meowth, a poke ball, and a treble clef). Her favourite outfit is a pencil skirt, and a cut off jacket. Her favourite shoes are a pair of low cut heeled boots.Sawyer
Personality: Sawyer is a queen bee of the school. Strong, assertive, resourceful, and talented. While Sawyer is a popular and talented trainer, she is also well known by the students in her school for her cutthroat battling skills. She doesn't have much faith in others, and thus believes that the only way to get anything done is to do it herself. In a way she doesn't have many true friends, nor is she a great friend herself. She is still learning to be a better person, and to trust herself as well as others. Teachers at the school see Sawyer as a serious student. She works hard and completes all of her homework on time. In class she appears quiet, cocky, and serious. To students, Sawyer is one of the girls that they love to hate. While she is always surrounded by a large group of people, she has never let any of them in to her personal life. Many are around her to be close to her family's money, and Sawyer's power over the school. While she is not outright mean, she is not often the kindest people either. She can be blunt in her thoughts, and often indifferent to other students not within her circle of "friends". Sadly, Sawyer's one and only friend lives back home in Castelia City, and thus she rarely sees him; they are only able to communicate in the letters they send back and forth. It is when his letters arrive that anyone can glimpse the secretive playful, optimistic, and fun person that is hidden beneath her serious composure.
Biography: A dancer, singer, and an ace trainer! Sawyer comes from a family with a long history of strong trainers and pokemon masters. Despite her family's focus on battling and training, Sawyer loves pokemon contests and musical theatre! But because she is an only child, with very few cousins, Sawyer has been continually pushed to become a trainer and one day a master (or at least a well known gym leader). So to please her parents, Sawyer has worked hard to become the best trainer there is. She still dances, sings, and takes part in contests on the side; to her parents all other activities other than battling are considered nothing but silly hobbies to keep her busy. Her strict childhood, and parent's high expectations have pushed much of the playful, fun, and curious Sawyer out of sight. The only person she is openly honest with is her best friend Conner from back home in Castelia City. Her cousin and rival Darla (Darlyn Rosencrantz) also attends the school. Sawyer's cousin often puts her down for her love of dance and music, and often threatens to tell her family about her hobbies in order to get her way. While she is a talented queen bee of the school, there is much within Sawyer that has been hidden away, waiting for someone to take a chance on her and awaken the dreams she has forced herself to forget.
Pokémon:
((So I am super excited to see how our characters interact... Wow, are they going to be different.)) ((As usual, I love everything you do. Lucas and Sawyer are either going to love each other or be total bitches. Let's see which! Approved!))

Name: Kaia Iris Cashore
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Occupation: Student
Appearance: She may take people by surprise the first time they see her! Kaia dyed her hair a bright teal colour and wears it in two low long pig tails. Sometimes she braids her hair in different ways, but for simplicity’s sake she most often wears her hair in pig tails. She does wear make up often, usually black eyeliner, lip gloss, and a new nail polish colour every week! Her features are a mixture of different ethnicities, and her mother often calls her family the “mutt” breed. With high cheek bones, full lips, and round blue eyes, Kaia either doesn’t realize how beautiful her features are, or she just doesn’t care. She has narrow shoulders, large breasts, and wide hips. She is often self-conscious of her figure, but wouldn’t ever admit so to anyone. She wears jeans and knee high boots every day, with unique tops that she has made herself. Her favourite colours to wear are blues and yellows. Kaia
Personality: Kaia is creative, intelligent, and adventurous. She needs to learn patience, and how to sit back. Often Kaia is seen with her group of friends, leading them into trouble! She is curious to a fault, and loyal to those she cares about. While Kaia is an excellent friend, she lacks discipline and can be quite lazy. Teachers are often frustrated with her, they tell her that she is not working hard enough to reach her full potential. Kaia hopes to travel the whole world one day! She seeks to be a great trainer, helping pokemon and her dream is to one day have a sanctuary where abused or abandoned pokemon can come and feel safe. Even with her big dreams, and faultless integrity, Kaia is still self-conscious about herself, and often bored in classes. She takes her frustrations out in art, and fashion design. She creates her own clothes, and her room is covered wall to wall in all her paintings and sketches.
Biography: All her life it has been her, Violet, Lirra, and her eccentric grandpa Harris. Kaia's mom is an artist from Village Bridge. During the summer her mother (Vi or Violet) would take her and her older sister (Lirra) to Undella Town to sell her wares to tourists. When she was old enough, Kaia began to design and make her own clothing, and began to sell them alongside her mothers. Their father was never in the picture, only Lirra can remember him. He left when Kaia was still a baby. While other children from the same situation often feel as though a part of them are missing, Kaia likes her home the way it was. So when her mom started dating, it wasn't surprising that Kaia began to rebel. First she started wearing makeup against her mother's wishes, and last stole a pokeball from the pokemart and walked out into the grass to attempt to catch her own pokemon. Fed up with Kaia's attitude, her mom sent her away to school where she hoped Kaia would learn more about herself. Kaia feels some resentment towards her mother for sending her away and her sister for not standing up for her, but still gets along well with her grandpa.

Name: Gear Graeyy
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Occupation: Student
Appearance: About 5 feet 6 inches and somewhere around 135 pounds, Gear is neither muscular nor fat. He is rather skinny, but one wouldn't know it as he almost always wears a trench coat, gloves, scarves, or anything that might keep him warm in cold weather. He even wears it in hot areas, as weird as that is. Blue eyes, black short hair that almost always looks like he just got out of bed and white skin, Gear is nothing special to look at.
Personality: Gear is nice, if a bit odd. Often hums and sometimes even starts dancing if he hears music-- no matter where he is. He panics easily under stress and sometimes is a bit of a pickpocket, but would never steal anything worth more than 20 dollars or anything with sentimental value. A large fan of ghost type Pokémon, Gear wants to open a Ghost type gym of his own eventually, but he doesn't see himself as anything special-- in fact, he often quits pretty early. Very friendly and laid back, Gear is hardly the abitious type. However, in a Pokémon battle, his mood changes drastically. He loses his smile and becomes entirely focused on the fight, very determined to win at all costs.
Biography: Growing up in Snowpoint City where it was always cold, Gear had a pretty average childhood. He always wanted to be a trainer, but since the outdoors was dangerous due to the constant blizzards and Pokémon were stronger than in many other areas of Sinnoh, he didn't have much hope-- that is, until a professional trainer came by. Rude and full of himself, no one complained much when the pro went missing, atleast until a party found him frozen to death in a blizzard. This was a turning point for Gear-- he realized that he could die at any moment, and he was going to be a trainer or die trying.
