A few miles to the south of Old Ashberg lies the Black Forest, a stretching expanse of trees that seems endless. Strange and dangerous creatures dwell in its depths, waiting for any traveler foolish enough to step off the path cutting through it. Occasionally, while walking along the road, one might catch a glimpse of an old wooden building, crumbling stone structure, or strange statues of various metals in the distance of the trees, but it is highly dangerous to investigate any of these things.

Deep within the forest, a bright light flashes, and the raging beast that is Goll tumbles into a copse of trees. In his blind frenzy, he begins destroying everything around him, sending all manner of nearby creatures fleeing. His howls can be heard miles away.

After an hour or so of rampaging, doing damage to a small area of the forest, Chrinos-Goll collapses in exhaustion. In his sleep, he transforms back into his Homid form.
After a while, multiple sets of glowing eyes begin watching him from the shadows of the forest surrounding the destroyed area, and small, quiet voices begin whispering to each other in a strange language.

Goll awoke after a short time to find himself surrounded by several tall humaniod figures dressed in clothing that looks like it was made from the forest itself. A couple of them are standing, holding hands surrounded by a faint green light.
"This one is finally awake."
"Good. This one was growing impatient."
"What the hell? Who are you?"
The humanoids regarded Goll with young faces and ancient eyes. One stepped towards him.
"This one will remain silent until the trial has commenced."
Goll felt a pressure on his mouth, making it impossible to speak. He leapt to his feet to attack the creature near him, and felt his arms and legs bound by the same strange force.
