Year: Present.
Day: Tuesday.
Time: Eleven O'Clock A.M.

Nothing will ever be the same.

It began with a small green light appearing in the sky. The light circled around a few times, and the scientists determined that the light was a ship; a hovering sickly green glow floating around just outside of the atmosphere. The ship circled for thirteen days, never making contact, no flying saucers descending with their laser beams only for the people of Earth to band together and shoot them all down like in the movies. By the seventh day, everyone had mostly accepted the glow in the sky and continued going about their daily lives. A few people packed up and headed out. Where? Away. Any place other than where they currently were; not that it mattered much. Despite everyone pretending it wasn't there, everyone still waited for the ships and the lasers and the scene from Close Encounters. However, when the thirteenth day hit, none of these happened. Instead? Everything changed.

Day Thirteen; 11:00 am

User Image
Wave 1: Lights Out.
Eleven A.M. on a Tuesday, the thirteenth day after the Arrival of the mysterious ship in the sky, a massive electromagnetic pulse was sent out, sending the Earth back to 18th century technology.

User Image
Wave 2: Surf's Up.
A week later, a giant rod was dropped from the ship onto a fault line, causing massive earthquakes which, in turn, cause tsunamis to wash away anyone within range of the coasts of every country.

User Image
Wave 3: Pestilence.
Three weeks after the second wave, a terrifying plague broke out among the survivors. Everyone except those with an incredible immunity to the disease caught it, and eventually died. The disease caused one to bleed out from the inside, until eventually all of the insides were mush, and the brain became zombie-like, and one would die bleeding from their eyes. Also known as the Red Death, the Red Tsunami, or the Fourth Horseman.

User Image
Wave 4: Silencer.
About four months after the Pestilence struck down another ninety percent of the population, the fourth wave hit. Everyone had been hopeful that the Red Death would be the last; it didn't seem like things could get any worse. Then the Silencers showed up. Assassins from the Others; the first contact had with them.

╚══════════════╝
╔══════════════╗

It took everyone a while to figure out that these killers were the fourth wave. After all, the Silencers looked like them, acted like them, were people many had known their whole lives. The Others had hidden them years ago; planted them as sleeper agents among the humans. They were trained to shoot down all humans remaining, and they were almost never beaten. Many of these 'sleeper agents' turned out to be some of those in the highest positions; military positions, namely. It left people with one set of rules;
Rule number one: Shoot anything that moves.
Rule number two: To stay alone is to stay alive.
Rule number three: Don't trust anyone.

This fourth wave left those remaining with one question; What's next?

The Others

User Image

Name: Logan White
Age: Twenty
Gender: Male
Role: Silencer
Personality: Logan is in a somewhat perpetual state of denial. He won't admit that he cares what's happening, even though it's obvious that he does. He puts on a tough face, and is often the first to pull the trigger when it comes down to it. He is afraid that if he waits too long he'll lose his nerve. He also copes with bad situations using humor. He usually tries to make light of shitty situations.
Bio: Logan was on the peaceful coexistence side of things with Evan and Wesley. Ever since the Awakening, when they stopped sleeping inside their human bodies to prepare for the invasion, he began pulling away from the people he cared about, becoming a bit hard-shelled and introverted. Three of the five members of his family were taken by the third wave, which he was grateful for. The fourth member, however, he had to kill himself at the beginning of the fourth wave. Since this event, he has acted as though he no longer cares that they have to kill the humans. Wesley and Evan know that it bothers him, but he always denies it, and almost always argues with the others on the rare occasion that they do hesitate to take a kill. Logan is also the one that provided the living arrangements for the three of them, letting them use his family's farm house as a sort of headquarters.

Logan refuses to agree to a(still in process) plan that Wesley and Evan have to destroy the military base that the Commander and many of the others of their kind are using as a sort of Central Command center, posing as military and working to brainwash children and train them to fight so that they can be used to help wipe out the rest of the population. Logan is too afraid of a backlash or getting caught by the Commander himself to support this plan, even though he wants to.

User Image

Name: Wesley Greywood
Age: Twenty-Three
Gender: Male
Role: Silencer
Personality: Wesley is the stern one of the group. He is also considered sort of a 'leader' figure among the three of them, as he his the oldest. Although the three are each pretty strongly opinionated, the younger two tend to look to him to make the decisions. He is rather reserved in his emotions, although he strongly believes(along with Evan) that the humans don't deserve everything they've gone through thus far.
Bio: Wesley was with Logan and Evan against the side that was ruling for the invasion. When they lost, Wesley became more reserved in his opinions, and since the Awakening, up until he met up with Logan and Evan, has been somewhat of an introvert aside from being with his two companions. He always tries to think through everything before acting on anything, and Logan often gets impatient with his hesitation.

Luckily for Wesley, his entire family was killed in the first three waves, so he didn't have to worry about killing any of them himself. Logan, he knew, had. He also knew that Evan had waited out the deaths of his family after the Fourth Wave came into play.

Wesley also has suggested a plan to destroy the military base posing as the Commander's Central Command, and he has Evan on his side; although the plan has not been fully developed yet. Logan refuses to support their plan, however, saying that it's suicide; and it probably is.

Name: Evan Walker
Age: Twenty
Gender: Male
Role: Silencer
Personality: Evan is the quiet, sweet one of the group. He's rather like a teddy-bear, and although he doesn't like killing, he does what he has to do. He has a soft spot for humans, and he often finds himself feeling sorry for them, and wishing he could help them, however he always gets the job done despite these feelings.
Bio: Evan and his companions Wesley and Logan were three among those who were against this kind of an invasion of Earth. They stood with the side who supported peaceful coexistence with the humans, although that platform was greatly outnumbered. Eventually, after many long meetings and arguments over the subject, the debate was won by the majority(and, of course, the Commander). They were planted into unborn human children to await the fourth wave as sleeper agents. Many of them were forced to kill loved ones, though Evan in particular chose to watch as the family he grew up with was swallowed by the waves of the invasion; he couldn't bring himself to kill them, or to let them know he was one of the Others.

Evan, Logan, and Wesley all live in Logan's family's farm house in an Ohio forest. They are well hidden from most humans here, and they are within walking distance of the highway, where they catch and hunt down many survivors. They tend to steer clear of the city, however. Most everyone did. The cities were a constant mess of burning fires and rotting flesh.

Name: Charlize Lucci
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Role: Elite Silencer
Personality: Charlize is a very instinctual. Whenever something doesn't feel right to her, she won't go through with it until she knows what it is. Sometimes, it is hard to tell where her loyalties lie, even for the Others at the Mothership. Charlize has always been alone, taking care of herself and having her own independent thoughts. She even strayed away from the fighting styles of the Silencers and adapted earthly martial arts and has created her own assassin-like style. She's not really a team player either, which really irritates the higher ups, but she doesn't care because they can't just get rid of her.
Bio: For disobedience, Charlize was planted inside a random human baby. Unfortunately, this baby was born a whore's daughter and sold to the slave trade. For 15 years, she had never seen a glimpse of worthiness in humans, other than the ones suffering with her who had lived with her until they were sold off. Eventually, Charlize escaped and was adopted by a couple who traveled around for business. She learned a lot about the human world when her parents worked, and saw better things as they went along. But, still there was only a few that were not tainted by their own selfish sins.
When the invasion started, Charlize was somewhat torn. She didn't know whose side she should be on, until some humans decided to invade her and her parent's house and take them as hostage. They were starved and tortured during the days of the invasion and soon, her parents died from starvation or from festering wounds. It was then that Charlize could not accept a species that lived with the evils torturing the weak without anyone having a second thought.
Once the fourth wave hit, she murdered her captors and took on the role of a silencer. But, still Charlize still has a soft spot for innocent humans such as children or the weak. Her loyalties are still split, despite what she believes.
The Mothership, however, gave her a special mission a week later. They suspect something is up between three specific Silencers and they want her to assess the situation and use deadly force if she deems it necessary.

Name: Lucas "Luke" Beckley
Age: Twenty-Five
Gender: Male
Role: Military Agent/Human Detective
Personality: Luke is a pretty friendly guy, though he's also mysterious. He doesn't like to tell anyone what he's up to, and he usually has his own agenda, even when he does what the Commander tells him to do. He isn't much of a team player, and will only align himself with his own people when it suits his purposes. Likewise, he will only align himself with the human side of things if it suits his purposes.
Bio: In the time Luke spent on Earth before the Arrival of the Mothership, he got good grades in school, and while he was in college he interned at a Detective agency. This got him a job at the agency almost immediately out of his schooling, and he worked as one of the agency's top criminal detectives.
Now, Luke is posing as a human detective for a small camp of survivors hidden deep in the forest. None of them know he is one of 'The Others', as the humans call them. Some of his people think he has gone AWOL because of this, but he refuses to share his motives with anyone, and is not afraid to kill his own kind to keep up with his charade. Luke sometimes worries that the Commander himself will come after him for going against orders, but Luke is convinced that the Commander is too interested in trying to figure out Luke's game to actually seek him out and dispose of him.
Luke is technically supposed to be working as a military agent for the Commander, but when he was sent out on a mission early in the Third Wave, he never came back. They assumed he was dead at first, until they realized that he was still showing up on their radar. Since then they have decided to sit back for now and see what exactly he's doing, as opposed to striking against him.

The Humans

User Image

Name: Fiona Levine
Age: Nineteen
Gender: Female
Weapon of Choice: M16 Assault Rifle.
Personality: Fiona is a fireball, and often has a hard time controlling her emotions and her temper. She is pretty fearless as well, and her brother has to reign her in quite a bit to keep her from giving them away with her 'act first, think later' antics. She has a hard time accepting the fact that everything is different now, and that they can't just walk down the street; especially when the streets are empty.
Bio: Fiona and Casper lived in the suburbs of Ohio. They left the city because the stench of rotting flesh during the Third Wave became too much for them to handle. They're mother had died when they were small, so she wasn't around to witness things as the madness ensued, but their father died late in the Third Wave, leaving them and their younger brother Michael to fend for themselves. For a while, they were just fine. They found a campground that had been set up as a safe house, and stayed there; until the Fourth Wave. Suddenly, some of the people they had trusted, and even some among those running the whole camp operation began taking the children out of the camp, and then turned on the rest, firing and killing off almost the entire camp. Their fourteen year old brother was one of the ones killed at the start of this wave, and Casper and Fiona ran. They didn't even stay long enough to see the pulsing green eye-shaped object that destroyed the remnants of the camp.

Since then, they have kept to the two of them, staying as hidden as possible and only going into the open when it was absolutely necessary. Usually Fiona leaves the trusting(or lack of) to her brother, who is much more careful about his fights than she is. If it was up to Fiona, the one and only option would be to shoot first and ask questions later.

Name: Casper Levine
Age: Twenty-One
Gender: Male
Weapon of Choice: Luger and a knife.
Personality: Casper is pretty calm and collected compared to his sister. He is careful, and often has to combat his sister's hasty opinions. He understands that everything has changed, and nothing will be going back to normal. He has quickly adjusted to the new set of rules that seem to have been made since the Arrival. He is also very protective of his sister.
Bio: Before the Arrival, Casper hadn't paid much attention to his family, and spent a majority of his time focused on the metal band he and his friends were starting. Now, Casper blames himself for his brother Michael's death, being the oldest. He feels it was his duty to protect his brother, and he failed. This causes him to be much more overprotective of Fiona. He doesn't want the same thing to happen to her due to his getting too comfortable with their surroundings.

The only other thing remotely as important to him as his sister is his trusty Luger. He spends a lot of his time making sure it is ready to go if he needs it, and that he has enough ammo. He is an excellent marksman, and has even killed a few Silencers(his biggest accomplishment, which he is very proud of).

Name: Lorenz Yoshino
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Weapon of Choice: Katana
Personality: Lorenz gets nervous, and he's getting more and more nervous the more the invasion goes on. Lorenz fears for his life and is desperate to do anything to survive. He doesn't trust anyone and never settles down in one place. He doesn't even trust humans. He's really a nice guy, pretty normal. But, now he's a nervous wreck. He can't trust anybody and not one person should trust him.
Bio: He was studying to be a teacher when the Others came. The third wave killed most of the students at the university. In the fourth wave, many of his friends tried to kill him. The campus was closed off, and so many survivors were cut off from all resources. Some resulted in cannibalism. But, not Lorenz. To get rid of all the Silencers, he gassed the whole campus to get rid of them. Some survivors died in the poisonous gas, but Lorenz decided to take the risk anyways. By the time he finished, he realized the gas didn't work on the Silencers very well. He ran away and has been running around ever since, trying to survive. He's got major wounds and has been doing his best to fix himself, but he's losing it.

Name: Chloe Grace
Age: Twenty-Five
Gender: Female
Weapon of Choice: Throwing Knives and a crossbow.
Personality: Chloe is a pretty happy girl, despite the whole 'end of the world' thing. She is content with being by herself, though she is cautious about whether or not she's killing other humans. She doesn't really like killing people, but will if she has to to survive.
Bio: Chloe Grace had just gotten her degree in bioengineering when the Arrival hit. She was working in a lab and was one of the few evacuated to a bunker during the first wave. They were all pretty safe from the second and third waves as well; until they left the bunker when some of the people there turned against them, turning out to be the enemy.

Chloe and some others escaped from the bunker, along with some weapons from the bunker's arsenal. Once they got outside, however, they discovered the Pestilence was still in the air, and many of them were struck down immediately. Chloe ran out on her own, armed with a crossbow and some throwing knives. She prefers these weapons to guns because they are silent, and won't give away her location if she shoots them.

Chloe has been hovering around one of the refugee camps for a while now. She doesn't want to actually stay there, because she knows that it will probably be attacked, but she stays nearby in case she herself runs into trouble.

Name: Blake Harris
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Weapon of Choice: Sniper
Personality: Blake is a cautious guy, and rarely ever makes tactical mistakes. When he's not on the run or fighting off Silencers, he's a pretty chill guy, despite his surroundings. He's used to warfare and survival, so the whole alien invasion hasn't quite clicked yet, which is good if he wants to keep sane.
Bio: He's a military officer, just came home to visit his uncle when everything started happening. He left his uncle in a safe place for now and he's hoping that it will stay safe there. He couldn't stay there, because he had to find his half brother, Lorenz before anything happens to him. He found him once, but since Lorenz was a bit crazed, he mistook Blake for another Silencer. He's still on the hunt for him and and he's ready to bring him back to his uncle and keep safe until the Silencers leave.

Fiona sat up against a tree and dug through the backpack in her lap, her trusty M16 at her side. She was frowning into the bag, obviously not finding what she was looking for. "Casper, the snacks are almost gone." She grumbled. She was hungry, but she knew she shouldn't eat what little was left just yet. They would have to leave the relative safety of the forest soon and find more; her brother was a good enough shot to hunt, but the guns were loud, and they tried not to use them unless they absolutely had to-a.k.a: Worst-case-scenario. Meaning? Silencers.

Deciding to settle for her bottle of water, Fiona took a few gulps, zipped the bag back up, and placed it back on the ground next to her. She leaned back against the tree, waiting for her brother to say something. He was being awfully quiet, and it was unsettling to her. Fiona preferred conversation to silence.

You still cross my mind from time to time. And I mostly smile.
Still so set on finding out where we went wrong and why
So I retrace our every step with an unsure pen,
trying to figure out what my head thinks,
but my head just ain't what it used to be.
And then again, what's the point anyway?

Casper glanced at his sister as she rummaged through the backpack looking for what little food they had left. He sighed, knowing that they would have to venture out and restock their supplies soon. This was always his least favorite task. It was definitely safer here in the forest than on the open road. Silencers hardly ever came this deep into the woods; usually the drones that had been deployed to hunt down survivors at the start of the Fourth Wave showed up long before the Silencers, and that gave them time to disappear.

Fiddling with his Luger, Casper glanced at Fiona again, staring at him expectantly from the ground against the tree. He stood silently, trying to think of what he should say. After a long while, he finally nodded. "We'll go soon then, I guess." He muttered. A short response was better than no response. Most likely, his sister would find something else to say so that he didn't have to say more.

By this point in the invasion, Casper was beginning to realize that it wasn't a matter of if you died, it was only a matter of when. How long you could run in this race before they finally caught up to you. Fiona didn't share this insight on the situation. She still believed that either the government was going to pull in and save them all, or the aliens were going to decide that they'd gotten what they came for, and leave again, just like that.

'When the people in charge figure out how to get the power back on, they'll send out rescue missions, and we can hide out in bunkers.' She had said to him once, near the beginning of the Fourth Wave. They had already been attacked at the refugee camp, had just lost their younger brother Michael, and it was clear that the so-called 'people in charge' were not exactly fighting for the human team. 'Don't you get it Fiona? The "people in charge" are the ones who shut the power off in the first place!' He had snapped in response, the shock of the Fourth Wave hitting him hard. Even now, she still seemed to think that someone out there was going to set everything right again...

I remember you ascending all the stairs up to the balcony
to see if you could see me - hidden quietly away
And I remember the skin of your fingers,
The spot three quarters up I'd always touch when I was out of things to say.
You held my hand, but you were too afraid to speak and I could never understand.
I remember when you leaned in quick to kiss me, and I swear,
that not a single force on earth could stop the trembling of my hand.

And I remember how you smiled through the smoke
in a crowded little coffeehouse and laughed at all my jokes.
And I remember the way that you dressed and,
how we wasted all the best of us in alcohol and sweat
And I remember when I knew that you'd be leaving, how I barely kept up breathing
and I bet if I had to do it all again, I'd feel the same pain,
And I remember panicked circles in the terminal in tears.
How I wept to god in fits. I've hated airports ever since.

Lorenz limped across the dirt, covered in mud and wet blood. The trees started to sway horribly with the leaves in his hallucinogenic state, and he wasn't sure if the heavy breathing was coming from followers or himself. C'mon Lorenz, think. Think. Trying hard to remember recent events helps him clear his already blurring mind.

"It's Saturday," he began thinking aloud in between coughing fits. He couldn't remember the date. "Er... I was just attacked by a Silencer, but then I escaped." Lorenz dragged his feet across the floor, aimlessly moving forward at a slow ragged pace. "The aliens... They invaded an-*cough*, and they're killing everything." It seemed that Lorenz' sight was going with his blood loss. The good thing was the pain was going away. Or was that a bad thing? He couldn't remember.

"They're going to kill me. They're gonna... kill me if I can't..." Up ahead, he spotted something. A camp? A camp, maybe with people. Lorenz kept shuffling in the dirt and leaves, tripping over mounds and overgrown roots. He wanted to get there, but the overwhelming feeling to lay down and sleep overcame his senses and he collapsed onto the dry ground. He grunted and moaned until he passed out, cold, numb and paralyzed. The nearby camp no longer felt there as the world drifted to black.

Fiona was about to make another comment, and opened her mouth to do so, when she was cut short by the sound of talking; but not her brother's. Suddenly, her gun was in her hands, and Casper's Luger was locked and loaded. They crept towards the nearby voice, staying behind the trees. Fiona knew it was probably a Silencer trying to bring them out of hiding.

As they got closer though, Fiona could see that the man was injured. Badly, by the looks of it. They arrived at the trees nearest to him just in time to see him collapse on the ground. "Is he dead?" Fiona asked, stepping out and standing over the young man. She lowered her gun. "He can't be a Silencer, can he? He was just muttering something about being attacked by one..." She knew that that didn't really mean anything; plenty of Silencers used tricks like that to con humans into coming out of hiding, but Fiona didn't think this was a trick for some reason... He was definitely injured though, that much wasn't a trick. "I think we should help him." She said, decidedly.

Casper held his gun steady, aimed at the now unconscious man. He glanced at his sister with a raised eyebrow, not quite following her logic. However, her tone when she said they should help him was one that meant 'if you don't help me help him I'll do it myself', and Casper didn't want that.

After a hesitant moment he sighed and lowered his gun, then knelt down and hoisted the man onto his shoulders. Casper carried him back to their makeshift and temporary camp and leaned him up against a tree, assessing the wounds. They looked pretty bad. "Well, what do you want to do about it? I'm not a doctor." He said to Fiona, shrugging a bit as if it weren't his problem.

"Ugh. Move." Fiona said in an exasperated tone, shaking her head. She pulled a ratty shirt out of their bag and tore it into strips, tying the strips around the man's wounded areas to prevent more blood loss. While she did this, her brother quickly scanned the area, it occurring to them suddenly that whoever had attacked the man could still be around.

Casper came back, shaking his head as Fiona finished dressing the wounds. That meant he had found nothing. That was either a very good thing, or a very bad thing. The man couldn't have wandered far from where he had been injured in this state. "Nothing?" She asked, her brother shook his head again. Fiona sighed. She looked back down at the unconscious young man and touched the back of her hand to his forehead; it was clammy and cold. Not a very good sign.

Lorenz was coming in and out of consciousness. His body twitched and convulsed a bit under Fiona's care. His mind went berserk when he saw Fiona above him, but he was too weak to respond. What the hell is she doing to me? For a moment he thought he was being robbed.

Lorenz, in a final, attempt, woke himself up and pushed the woman away and attempted to bring himself up. He managed to get up and ran a few steps, but a fierce pain in his abdomen made him stagger. He had moved too quickly. His vision blurred as he became dizzy and fell to the ground again. His heavy breathing made the breathing worse.

Chew the pill that tastes like hell, but gives you strength Embrace the drug that makes you mad, cause still it turns you into something else Feel the need for love grows stronger Swap your mind for a mirror-search, and shake until the break of day One day you'll realize that you were wrong And you'll regret that all this happened, did it (all) happen? Fiona fell over backwards when the man gathered enough strength to push her away and run a few feet. She didn't blame him; he was probably pretty freaked. Especially with everything that was going on. She sighed and went back over to him, resting her hand gently on his shoulder, trying to muster every bit of motherly instinct she might have in her at her age. "Hey, you need to stay seated. You lost a lot of blood, and I've managed to stop most of the bleeding but you're going to tear the injuries open again if you move around too much before it starts to heal." She said. It didn't sound very motherly. She sounded more like a teenage girl who kind-of-sort-of had some basic idea of what she was doing and was doing her best to use her not-very-extensive knowledge to help. Which is exactly what she was.

After a moment she added, "I know it doesn't mean much when people say it right now, but I promise I'm not going to hurt you.." It was her lame attempt at saying 'Hey, stay here and rest so you don't die. I promise I'm not an alien'. She wasn't sure if it would help at all or not, but she hoped maybe he didn't have a choice now that he was so dizzy and out of breath. She was almost worried, for a split second, that he might croak on them right there after that little spurt of energy.

Lorenz coughed again. He started to taste blood. He didn't like the situation at hand, especially when it was him under a stranger's protection. Trusting was pretty hard and he wasn't going to start now. But, seeing his situation, it seemed that he didn't have a choice. He nodded and sat up, clenching his gut like his innards were to spill out.

Lorenz instinctively reached for his sheath, it feeling lighter than usual. He freaked out even more to find that his sword was gone. Maybe he was robbed. Keep it cool, Lorenz. She'll kill you if you seem suspicious of them. Lorenz quelled his anxiety for the moment and assessed the area.

"Thank you," he said, out of politeness. It wasn't the most sincere sentiment, but he wasn't going to smother her with gratitude either. He was still wary of her.
