Well, it basically works like this.
Get a blank notebook and divide it into four parts, for the four elements of air, water, earth, and fire. Of course, I edit this part of the instructions to include other elements which I use, like metal from the chinese elements, spirit, and shadow. Label the sections into these elements (or the elements you use in your path). Then divide the pages into two columns, one side labeled acceptable and the other unacceptable. You then list all your qualities and habits under these columns as you see fit.
This is a self-observation process that can take weeks or months. Once you're done with your lists, look over your unacceptable traits are actually a different element, like a water- or emotion- based trait. Then you rearrange accordingly (This is why you need a whole notebook).
Next, go through the unacceptable list again to see if those "unacceptables" are only called that because of how you were conditioned by your upbringing or society. Adjust your opinion according to your own standards, and see which traits or habits can be erased or changed into a more comfortable alternative for you.
This technique is good for finding out more about your own personality and on getting rid of socio-cultured conditionings and responses from ourselves that can hinder us.
