So last month, I finished my AmeriCorps gig, and now I'm a learning center aide at a school district in the richest town my county.
It's not a bad job, and it's not a bad paying one, either. I work with both elementary schoolers (K-2nd) and middle schoolers (6th-8th, in case you Brits don't remember how grades work in the US of A), either pulling them out of class to work with me, observing them, or assisting them in strategy classes. At the middle school in particular, I'm working with at least four boys on the autism spectrum, so that's already interesting enough.
Next step will be searching for an apartment with Mea and my girlfriend. Wish us luck - and maybe send us a housewarming gift through the mail as long as it doesn't get dumped into the Atlantic or destroyed in the process of transfer! wink
How about you guys? How are your jobs? Have you gotten a new job? How's it all treating you, and what's a way you treat yourself with some of your paycheck when you get it?

I teach kindergarten and work at a before and after care program for the YMCA. Details are in the weekly thing.
It's going well so far. I really want full-time art teaching position, but they are few and far between in PA. It's been a crapshoot for a year and a half so far. MEHR.
Other than that things are pretty great. I get money... but then have to pay student loans for it.
And tell us your new address as soon as you get one so I can mail you s**t. I love mail.

Woohoo! I was getting ready to type out how broke I am, but then:
-Mom said she'd give me enough to cover rent AND give me a little bit more to get some rhinestones so that I can sell them: -I remembered that I have to invoice a friend for a bit of work I did this month -Like i said in the weekly thing, a friend of mine wants to sell my blinged stuff. -I'll be getting a teensy bit from another company I do contract work for. -I got an approval for another application that I sent in (there's still lots to do and it'll be more contracting, but I might be able to make something out of it!) -I just got a call from one of my temp agencies with a little bit of work for a couple days this week and next. -I've got a burlesque gig at the end of the month. -I miraculously got approved for a student visa with rewards from my bank that should come soon, so I'm going to have a little bit of wiggle room while everything else gets sorted this month. (And it actually NEEDS to get sorted this month, so....)
So yeah, I'm still pretty ******** poor, but with the bits of work I'm scraping together here and there, I might be able to make something work. :3

loool, I just spent the last of the money currently in my bank account on rhinestones. (It's a group order, but most of it's still mine.)
I'll be getting a bit more money later, but for now I feel kiiind of amazingly stupid. On the other hand, I really do need my supplies in, like.. yesterday.
It's ok. I'll make all of the pretty sparklies and it will ALL BE OK. crying

(For those of you who are curious, I am now working as a resource instructional assistant at an elementary school)

Ok. So chatting I have a bling job (they agreed to my prices!) and it looks like a friend of mine might be willing to invest in the bling business! biggrin
Maybe my dream of having a heat press, cutter, and being able to whip out blinged out shirts might be realized after all....
