Guild Prologue: Welcome to Void Earth! A World Without Heroes.
[This story line is a custom story line made by me, Uchiha Roxas. it happens outside the main DCnU continuity that commences after the Flashpoint event. Think of it as an alternate universe almost.]
Although Barry corrected the timeline after the Flashpoint Paradox, Earth had to do something in order to compensate for the massive amount of disruption that had occurred along the time stream. It did this by correcting the main timeline and creating “Prime Earth”, a continuum not too far removed from Barry’s own only with a few edits and changes here and there and taking the excess damage and creating a “splinter timeline”, a timeline that would absorb the damage done to the timeline and forever be locked inside itself; unable to right, unable to change and unable to interfere with the healed Prime Earth. This version of Earth was soon dubbed “Void Earth” after all its Superheroes eventually disappeared into nothingness, vanishing suddenly and leaving the various criminals of Earth and the surrounding galaxy to insight carnage and chaos upon a defenceless populous.
No one is quite sure what happened but everyone knows it started when the Flash returned from the alternate timeline. At first glance, it seemed as if everything was the same: The Justice League existed again and functioned as it once did, The Flash was a hero once more and Bruce Wayne was alive and operating once again as Batman. However, below the surface, a huge change had occurred within Barry. Racked with guilt at what he’d seen and being the only one able to remember, The Flash raged a one man war against crime in order to repent for his selfish act that had cost hundreds of people, including his friends, lives. For a while, the Justice League simply turned a blind eye to it, thinking that it was Barry’s way of dealing with the trauma of what he’d seen but as time went on, more and more strange occurrences began to happen.
At first it was nothing more than rolling blackouts, freak weather patterns and seemingly outrageous events such as the loss of gravity in Chicago for just over minute but red warning lights really did begin to go off for the League when Wonder Woman simply disappeared whilst on patrol. No warning, no distress signal; Diana was simply gone and no one knew why, Superman himself searched for days even going to the furthest corners of the Galaxy to try and find her until eventually, he too was gone. It was like neither of them had even existed, the memories of those left changed and warped as the Timeline did and even though the blackouts and the disasters began to slowly fade into memory as something far more catastrophic was approaching…
One by one more Superheroes vanished. Some during their everyday lives and others fading out of existence right before the eyes of their foes in the heat of battle. It didn’t even stop there, as wards, sidekicks, allies and any other somewhat super powered being associated with the Justice League began to disappear. Soon, Batman stood alone in his cave, unsure of who he was, what he’d been doing or whom the Justice league were.
Yet, with one final gut feeling that something was wrong; he implemented his greatest ever plan and perhaps saved the whole of Void Earth from certain destruction…
