[ Hey guys! ]
In order to get more roleplayers in this guild, let's get a roleplay going in Barton Town.

I would appreciate if everyone would throw in some ideas to what we could do for a roleplay. We then will have a poll to see what everyone would like to do for a Guild Sponsored Roleplay.

So throw those ideas towards me so we can get this thing going!

      The RP would be titled, The Crystal Caravan.

      Based off of Final Fantasy lore, but previous knowledge of the franchise would not be needed.

      Plot ~

      The world is covered over with a deadly vapor know as Miasma that is lethal to all civilized races, but monsters thrive in it. Prolonged exposure to Miasma results in illness and, ultimately, death, but there is a way to purify the air of this toxin. Crystals are know to absorb the poisoned air; the larger the crystal the more powerful the effect, but over time their power diminishes as they are tainted by the build up of Miasma.

      To combat this " Crystal Caravans" have been created by both small towns and large cities alike . Their job is to collect a substance know as Myrrh which is capable of cleansing the crystal of the Miasma's presence.Myrrh wells up form inside the earth to form "springs" of the greenish liquid substance. These springs are normally located in out of the way places, ruins, or massive geological features. However, they have been found in some very unlikely places such as homes, libraries, and even dreams.

      It normally takes about one year to collect all three drops of Myrrh needed for the cleansing, and, soon after this ritual and the festivities which follow, the caravan must take to the road again so that their home isn't destroyed by Miasma.


      RP~
      I was thinking that this style of role play would be a good way to flex our creative muscles and learn to flush out our characters.
      The basic idea would be that each " year" would consist of three "dungeons" .
      Each role player wold be given the opportunity to create an area where the Myrrh can be found, and it could be literally anywhere they chose. They would have full creative license over that particular area including back story, lore,location, whether there are monster who live there or not, and , of course, what it looks like.

      After the caravan has collected the Myrrh I thought it might be a cool idea if the player who created the "dungeon" would write, in their character's voice, a short journal entry of what happened there and how it affected them personally and anything else they might like to add.

      After three drops of Myrrh are collected they would return to their village for a short interlude and a new year would begin.
      We would literally be able to experience the lives of the characters.

      If someone did not wish to create a " dungeon" or had no clue where to begin we could always use an area actually from the game.

      There is more to this of course but this is all that actually has to be known. The rest is all superfluous fluff on world lore, races and the like.
      I have other ideas for this RP, but will refrain from voicing them until a later date.

Element hunters have always been on the tail of those who possessed power. It has been a war before most can remember. A plan gone wrong that resulted in the death of a human, which was how the hunters were formed.

      For each generation there are four males, and four females. All are handed down a necklace from their parents when they feel the time is ready. When wearing the necklace, they can access their power. Individually, they are quite strong, but together, they are damn near impossible to beat. Or at least that is what the Elders thought, before rumor went around about the Oxis Power.

      The Oxis Power is a necklace that allows anyone who wears the power to control all elements. Though it is a great power, if an Element possessor gets a hold of it, it's almost impossible to beat them. If a human manages to grab hold of it (like a hunter), not only with they be able to control all the elements but a dark side of magic takes over them. Almost as if they were being possessed by a demon, including the darkest parts of being a possessor, like dark magic.

      Now that rumors are flying around, everyone is trying to find the necklace. Hunters and Elders aren't the only people trying to get a hold of the necklace either. There are demons that are also after the necklace and will do anything to get their hands on it. Not only that, but to kill those who have the elemental necklaces.

      Plotting:
      Plotting for this is going to require a lot of communication. Communication for this is key.

      Anyway! It's based on a different world and there's this huge, huge school (it's basically its own little country) for magic users where they go to hone their talents and become the best that they can be. There are five different types of magic...

      Spiritual: basically anything to do with spirits, necromancy, that type of thing.

      Manipulation: the ability to manipulate real things in the world. Each student would have a specific thing they could manipulate, like metal or lightning.

      Spells: they have magical energy, but it can only be unleashed and controlled through the chanting of spells and making of potions.

      Summoning: basically each student here would have a specialized summoning skill, either creating their own creature or taking one from a different dimension. Either way, they would have control over it.

      Transformation: they can turn themselves into various monsters/creatures/etc.

      And the rp would start on graduation day for a whole bunch of students, they can be any age, and there is a huge party that's kinda like a career fair. People come from all over to recruit graduating students, but the largest bit is the three surrounding kingdoms that are sending a group of representatives because they all want to gain as many magic users as possible in order to strengthen their defenses and armies. They all hate each other and try and poach each others students, and they're all just trying to get the strongest and the most and the best for their own kingdoms. Oh, and the names of the countries are:

      Cere- has a Queen in charge
      Somnia- has a party of nobles in charge
      Bellum- has two Kings, brothers, each in charge of half

If anyone had read the manga, Land of Lions, that would be an interesting premise for a role-play.

Here is a plot synopsis here. It describes the different lands and races and has a map. I think it would be a cool role-play, completely open for changes as well. smile

I too have an idea.
It'd be called Eclipsed Articulations.

The story:
