There were quite a few new Mists around now. Some she knew, some she didn't, but all of them had one thing in common: with the exception of Stormy they apparently all needed a more hands on approach to learning. Even Molly had admitted to getting a little lazy.
She would meet each one individually and then bring them all together. With no portals, no power, and limited resources, she had all the time in the world right now. Time to get to work. The hard part was no cell phones made it more difficult to find anyone, it luck had decided now was a good time o be on her side when she spotted a familiar face.
"Hey you," Candace called out affectionately as she approached the young man, hands on her hips and a pleasant smile on her face. "I haven't seen you lately, what've you been up to?"

Ian was relaxing not in the cafeteria, but out on the training fields, lounging about in a pair of jeans and a teeshirt as he sat on the ground reading a book. He supposed he should have been doing something more productive, but as it was, he just didn't feel like it.
A familiar voice caught his ear, and Ian lowered the book to see Candace standing over him. A smile curling his lips upwards, Ian lifted his free hand in greeting.
"Not much," he said easily. "And how are you, Candace? You're looking as lovely as always."

Ah, he knew how to speak to her. Candace grinned and moved to stand behind him so she could lean down over him and rest her hands on his shoulders. He was reading a book on the training field instead of actually training? Ehhh...cute but..that wasn't quite right. If he wanted a place to read he should go somewhere more suitable. "I've had better days, but thank you for the compliment. What are you reading?"

Ian held the book up for Candace to see.
"A Tale of Two Cities," he said lightly before lowering it again. "Not exactly light reading, I suppose, but I didn't bring many other books here so I have to choose carefully."
He craned his neck upwards. "What brings you out here?"

"Ah, I see." Candace squat down behind Ian, her arms comfortable around his neck and her head beside his, sitting close to the man as she looked over his shoulder at the book. "I came out here to train because, y'know, it's kind of my job." Only kind of. It was just her specialization to train the Mists. No big deal. "Do you really think reading on the training field is such a good idea?" She smiled. "You're not being lazy, are you?" It was said with a teasing tone but she was being rather serious. Aria would kill her if she found out.

Ian smirked a little, stretching out a leg. "Probably not," he said lightly, and leaned back, his fingers absently moving across the cover of his book, feeling the heavy material against his hand.
He gave Candace a mock outraged look. "Me? Lazy? Would I do that?"

Candace smirked and rolled her eyes at the look he gave her. "I think you would, Ian. And I think it's time we fix that~. Don't you agree?"

Ian received a kiss on the cheek and a pat on the head for his correct answer. "Good boy. Now, what have you done for training lately?" Candace asked cheerfully as she walked her fingers along the length of Ian's arm. "I'm not saying you have to spar me right here, just I need to know where you're at before I start hounding you. I'm being nice."

Ian was not entirely sure he appreciated the boy part of that good boy comment, especially since he was relatively certain they were around the same age, but he let it go (at least for now). A smirk tugged at the corners of his lips.
"Where I'm at is right here," he said casually, and leaned towards Candace until their faces were barely an inch apart. "Right here in front of you," he said, and then leaned back, laughing.
"All right, President Mist," he said. "So what you're telling me is to get off my a** and do some work, is that right?"

When he got in her face Candace didn't move, she simply raised a brow and smirked lazily at the man. He was playing that game, huh? It was lucky she loved Dakota and promised not to cheat on him. He may forgive her for it, which was a huge comfort, but it didn't mean she was going to test him. She simply kissed the air between them with a small smack of her lips and stood, holding a hand out in silent order for him to get up. "Smartass. And yes, I am telling you to get off your a**. And I'm going to help you. First, I want you to tell me what the duties of a Mist are."
