Dump of a place, and there were nine of us living con mi madre. Four sisters and five brothers including myself, and one mama to raise us all, bless her heart. Never knew my father, but Olivia says he was a tyrant. Miguel won't even speak of him. Anyways, I was second youngest, so I had shadows to outgrow and one I had to walk the straight and narrow path for. I went to school on and off, but I excelled in my classes, so I managed to scrape a scholarship to send me to the local college. The whole place was a dump, but it got me to a university later in life. Really I'm average, no matter what Cecil says. I've been bullied and experimented with drugs, had meaningless lovers and ones that meant too much. Studied, ate, slept, drank, gone to therapy for memories I never talk about, played, laughed, cried, loved people, hated people...I'm not perfect. But Cecil makes me think maybe I don't have to be. The funding ran out ages ago and there isn't anyone from my team left...they're all dead or vanished into thin air, but I work best by myself. I guess I've been here all my life. My whole family's here, way up to my grandma. My cousins and their parents are also here. My great grandparents have passed away somehow. I don't know how. I have a brother and a sister, and I'm the youngest. I liked writing from the get go and news reporting seemed cool, so I went through elementary and high school opting for a course that would lead me right to this job. I interned for the Night Vale Community Radio back then, but I thought that the Daily Journal would probably be a better place for me. The listeners probably won't like a coughing and sneezing man delivering them their news. I get sick a lot. Your Present: So there. I am now currently working at the Daily Journal. I live in my own apartment downtown, near my parents' house. I go to work daily, except when Wednesdays are canceled. Wednesdays are often canceled due to scheduling errors. Well, not exactly moving in the conscious sense. My parents had wanted me to become a lawyer, and one night, I went to sleep and woke up on the outskirts of Night Vale. Dark figures did not confront me. Dark figures did not ask me to join the Sheriff's Secret Police. What's the Sheriff's Secret Police? Your Past: I've lived in Night Vale as long as I can remember really...which isn't much. My earliest memory is my first reeducation when I was seven years old. I went to public school in Night Vale, but I don't really know many of the other residents my age. In school, all the other kids' faces were a blur...hard to look at for too long. I could only see the reptillian faces of the teachers and staff clearly. I trancsended high school two years ago on the Future Elder Warlock list, I don't know what this or the certificate I recieved means, as the memory of my graduation ceremony was immediately erased from my mind.
Your Present: I attend Night Vale Community College taking classes in film, photography, the fine arts, and ritual summoning. I am, as many of you know, an intern at Night Vale Community Radio. I'm having a hard time communicating with other citizens at the moment, as people seem to just...ignore me. There are some citizens I can still talk to, several I thought to be dead, but maybe they aren't after all. I like my new friends. The man in the tan jacket is very nice, and the apache tracker is nice company, even if he only speaks Russian now. The plus side is we can no longer hear his racist ramblings. I miss Cecil and the other interns, I wish he would answer his phone. He's called me back once or twice, I think... my voicemail has recordings from his number... but they're just static and mumbling I can't understand... I hope everything goes back to normal soon. The dog park was interesting.

Your Past: Long and varied, what with being a nigh-immortal shapeshifting water horse, but recently has been living in Night Vale. Before arriving, Don had spent the previous few decades living in Tacoma, Washington, enjoying the countryside and the many channels of Puget Sound (and sometimes grabbing a stray hiker or two - so many reports of lost campers...). Recently, Don found himself emerging from the sand under a pier of the Night Vale Harbor And Waterfront Recreation Area (that doesn't exist), instead of the channel he thought he had dived into. Despite feeling a longing for the ocean, Don had made his place as a productive member of Night Vale, even building and opening an indoor pool (complete with waterslide, hot tubs, sauna, and deep-water pool reaching dark depths far greater than what should be possible to dive down to, let alone see shadowy shapes and pale, sightless eyes. One towel per guest).
Your Present: Aside from running the Lost Loch Indoor Pool, Don frequently volunteers at the Night Vale SPCA, hires himself out as a drafthorse for the local argricultural outfits (including, he hopes, John Peters - you know, the farmer?), and avoids iron. Especially horseshoes. Who came up with those, anyway? Tch. He's easily identified by the old, brown-stained cowboy hat he often wears and the piece of water weed he pins to it. Sometimes he'll get a little soggy, but he can control that, really. He won't drip on anything. Don is always accepting more life guards and other staff to replace the ones who go too deep into the deep end. Those with gills given special consideration.
Your Future: Don wishes the calls from the Petting Zoo would stop. Bad enough they want him to be ridden and petted by children without eating merly one or two, but he'd also be required to be shod. Ick.
