The Tainting destroys the Corleo civilization across the continent. According to the legend, necromancers first poisoned people en masse in order to increase their corpse supply. Then when they had enough to work with, they turned against the rest of the society. For what purpose? No one knows anymore. The only thing that is certain is that the destruction got out of hand. It was a miracle that there were any survivors at all...

Lord Harbinger arrives at the Fabled City. As far as anyone knows, he was the first one to arrive, which is why he is called the Harbinger.

Corleos begin to gather around the Fabled City of Rekkadar. The Harbinger's leadership is established, and Dar-vatta founded.

♦ ♦ ♦ Year 0, October (IRL October 2013)
The cruise ship Sandy Dreams departs from New York for Bermuda, but it does not reach its destination. A violent storm brings it to a crash on the east coast of Sildat. Although this results in some casualties (including the ship captain, Cpt. Moulder), most of the passengers survive, numbering around four hundred.
This event introduces the humans and the Corleos to each other for the first time in known history. Both sides are shocked to realize that the strange new creatures before them are sentient beings, not mere beasts at all.
Under Lord Harbinger's decree, humans are granted their own territory near the shipwreck. In spite of the language barrier, they manage to communicate "humans over there, Corleos over here." The Harbinger proclaimes a new law that any Corleo that enters the human territory abide by human laws and customs. Does he truly respect the humans so much, or is he merely giving them freedom in order to observe their nature at work?

♦ ♦ ♦ Between Year 0 and 2
The humans settle. At the very beginning, the ship crew try to provide some order to the chaos, but no one intends it to be anything more than a temporary measure to keep their passengers safe while waiting to be rescued. Then as more and more people begin to realize they might be stuck here for good, the crew members being crew members lose all of its meaning. The population wind up disintegrating into small communities.
Eventually, leader figures emerge from each of those small communities. The leaders agree to hold a meeting every once in a while. Most of the communities seem willing to cooperate with each other (to varying degrees -- some may be more closed-off than others).
