GRAPHICWelcome to the world of Pokemon . . .The world of Pokemon, a vast collection of continents, islands, and oceans, all teaming with life. The land has always been populated by pokemon of all shapes, types, and sizes and sharing the earth with them, humans. For the most part humans and pokemon have shared the earth peacefully, working together or apart to make their lives as they willed. Though there have always been occasional humans, or pokemon, with the intention of harming the land, their efforts have always failed due to the efforts of those with good hearts. Very few areas of the world are unpopulated by humans but the region of Rystiera is home to a plethora of wild pokemon and protected from human encroachment. Nestled between the protective ridges of a mountain range, the area is essentially a massive valley that spreads out into a plain in the south. Small rivers wind their way though the valley, keeping it lush in vegetaion and able to support a large number of wild pokemon. This special valley is kept clear of humans by a small group of scientists that wish to keep a sort of "game reserve" just for the wild pokemon as the rest of the world becomes more and more settled every year as people expand the boundaries of their cities. And so for over twenty years, the pokemon in this wide valley have trived without any human contact at all, some of them not even knowing truely what a "human" is. It is also held as a sactuary for human-owned pokemon that were abandoned, word spreading out from the valley from pokemon-to-pokemon till even the furthest regions' pokemon knew of the safe haven. Lately though, the peaceful valley hasn't seemed so safe. Tremors shook the earth a few months ago, bringing down massive rock slides from the sides of the mountains ringing the valley on three sides. Trees fell, and water drained from several of the rivers, leaving resources depleted. After the earth stopped shaking pokemon across the valley have started noting smoke at first trickling up from the largest of the mountains, then more heavily as time wore on. As much of the plantlife began drying out from the streams going dry, the pokemon found themselves having to rely on each other more heavily for survival. One particular pokemon, Suicuine, has taken the lead in helping the pokemon work together to survive in their previous utopia. She and a few others have started up teams for groups of pokemon to rely on each other's different skills to help those in need, and to solve problems of the rapidly changing landscape around them.

Guidelines ✳ This is a literate roleplay.
xxxMeaning: I expect full sentences that are grammatically correct and free of spelling errors. I realize everyone makes typos so some here and there are no problem. But if you consistently have badly written posts, I will require you to use a grammar and spellcheck before hand. In fact you should just go ahead and do it anyways if you're not confident in your spelling skills, it saves a lot of editing time. Also, you will need to have at least three decently written paragraphs. That's five or six complete sentences per paragraph, preferably more. I want posts to come out to be about 400 words. It's really not as much as it sounds. I realize everyone has writers block on occasion, or just doesn't have much to write out, but that doesn't mean that small blocks of text all the time are going to be acceptable. If your post is less than fifteen sentences, you probably need to beef it up. And of course absolutely no one-liners.
✳ What I say goes.
xxMeaning: If I ask you to fix something, not do something, or really anything at all I don't want a lot of fighting over it. If you have a rational argument I'll listen as long as you're polite about it. But likely I won't be telling you something unless it's something I absolutely require to be fixed anyways. So it's simpler to remember that I am the thread owner and that what I say goes. Or anyone I deem as a moderator either since that means I trust them to follow the rules I want well enough to make sure others follow them as well.
✳ Be respectful.
xxMeaning: I really shouldn't have to explain this, but I will anyways. Obviously roleplaying requires people working together to have a good time. And I want it to be a good time and not an argument and drama-filled time. So be polite to your fellow roleplayers, and if you do have an issue handle it like a mature human being. If someone is doing something you don't like, or you feel is inhibiting your roleplaying then simply message me and I'll handle whatever is wrong in the best way without insulting anyone. Do realize though, that sometimes what someone does that annoys you is just an idiosyncrasy, and not something I can always fix. So try to be tolerant. And if all else fails - try to avoid interacting with their character if you must.
✳ Posts need a certain format.
xxMeaning: Nothing to stressful for you really. Just that I would like a few details included in the post layout to make things easier on everyone else in the roleplay. You'll need your pokemon's name of course, at least one picture, their location, their status (note the health and fighting system below), and their team. I do prefer that layouts are made pleasing to the eye, but feel free to let your creativity shine in whatever way you like as long as that small list of things is included. Please avoid layouts that stretch the page though, and keep in mind that a lot of different screens are used by people. What doesn't stretch your page may stretch someone else's, so you may be asked to fix something if that happens.
✳ No Godmodding.
xxMeaning: I'm pretty sure that everyone knows what godmodding is. But just in case, it means making your character god-like such as in never getting hit in fights and managing to always land super critical hits on others. Within this realm also falls omnipotence. Just because someone's character is thinking something in their post doesn't make it so your character automatically knows that information. Unless they've been told outloud, then your character doesn't know it. Also avoid mary-sue/gary-sue characters, or "perfect" characters. They're annoying to try to rp with and is usually quite frustrating to others. Of course I don't mean have a bunch of angst-ridden characters with horrible backgrounds either. Find a nice medium. And you will get banned for godmodding after the first warning, so be careful to avoid it in the first place.
✳ Romance and Fighting
xxMeaning: Pretty much both are normal parts of really any rp and I encourage all of you to follow your hearts desires with this. Try to keep within a few parameters though. Don't exceed Gaia's ToS with too much vulgar behavior. That includes a bunch of excessive swearing, gore-detail, or taking romance a step too far. (This being a pokemon rp, I would hope that no one would want to try to rp that out anyways, but I feel I should state it just to be clear.) I'm going to assume we can all behave like adults. Some swearing and so on is of course fine, but accept that if I feel you're getting a bit to fond of certain words I'll ask you to cut them out. If it's "part of your character" I'm sorry, but too bad. Also with fighting, you're allowed to have very angry, aggressive characters if you like. But don't take that into attacking anyone that manages to cross your path without warning. Talk to the other roleplayers before you just blindly attack them, it saves a lot of grief later if they're in the middle of some plot.
✳ Regular posting.
xxMeaning: Please don't join if you're going to post once or twice then disappear forever without word. Also don't join if you can only post about once a month or so as that really slows down a rp and is unneeded. I do realize a lot of people have busy schedules with work, school, personal projects, and even other roleplays. As long as you can post within a week from when you receive a reply from someone, then you're good. If it's been a week since you've been able to post, or since your last post if you weren't interacting with anyone, you'll receive a warning via pm. If after another week you still haven't posted or given me a good reason why you're too busy, your character will be deleted and others will be notified to move on. If you know you're going to be too busy to post for two or so weeks or going on a vacation or something simply let me know and I'll post that you're on hiatus so that others aren't waiting.

Reserves and Profiles
Please turn in a reserve if you wish to save a certain pokemon. Reserves will be held for three days before I'll contact you. If you give me a good enough reason for the delay on the profile I'll hold the reserve for another two days. After that though I will delete it and give others the chance for that pokemon. Title reserve pms ["pokemon name" I choose you.] and title profile pms [Everlasting Dreams].
