Autumn. Present day. Location? Everywhere. Population: Unknown.
Welcome to the end of the world. Also known as World War Z. The Zombie Apocalypse. An infection. Everyone carries it. No one is safe. When you die, or are bitten, or even scratched, you become one too. A Walker. A Lame-Brain. A Biter. Everyone calls them something different, but one thing is universal; these things are not people. Not anymore. They aren't even alive. Rotting, walking corpses. That's all that's left.

Survival. Most of the world has gone back to following their instincts. That's all that's left. All anyone can do. The most important thing is to stay alive, and to not be bitten. Protect yourselves and those closest to you. At this stage in the game, anything goes. Will you choose to retain your humanity? Or succumb to the new rules of play?

CHARACTERS

User Image

Name: Noah Renly
Gender: Male
Age: Twenty-Four
Weapon: Bow and Arrow
Personality: Noah is quiet but has a good sense of humor. His trust is not easily won, but once someone has won him over he would do anything to protect them. He has a leadership quality about him that people tend to look up to. He isn't afraid to take out whoever he needs to to survive, but he does have a habit of feeling the need to have mercy on people. Sometimes even giving them one to many chances.
Bio: Noah Renly is originally from Scotland. He and his father moved to America when he was Fourteen, and they moved around the States his entire life. He became pretty desensitized by the having to leave behind old friends and make new friends with each move. He often did everything alone, unless someone came to him first.

Noah's mother died when he was only Ten. Shortly before he and his father left Scotland. His father died near the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse, and Noah had to put him down, not having expected him to turn so quickly. After that, Noah learned quick, and realized that he couldn't trust anyone either. Everyone was in too chaotic of a state. Most would draw on sight. Thieving, raping, scavenging everything. At the beginning people worked together more, knowing that the government was bound to send out rescues. After a while, it became more and more apparent that no one was coming to save them, and they slowly began to turn on each other. Food and supplies were running low quick.

Noah and his father were living in Seattle most recently. They were there when the outbreak began. Most of the city is in ruins now, and Noah has been holed up just outside of the city. He came across a small house in the woods and has been able to keep it clear of Walkers for the time being. The few who venture off into the forest are usually alone and easy to take care of, especially if you have a quiet weapon so as not to attract bigger herds.

Name: Adeline "Addie" Berrère
Gender: Female
Age: Twenty-Two
Weapon: Crossbow and an axe.
Personality: Adeline is competitive and doesn't like being told what she can and can't do. She will do what she pleases, though she will do whatever she can to help her friends and those in danger. She trusts easily, though she will keep an eye out if she notices anything suspicious, and she has a friendly attitude unless someone that she doesn't accept as an authority figure tries to tell her what to do.
Bio: Adeline comes from a french background, and her mother was french. She speaks relatively fluent french and english, although she does not have a french accent. Most people don't even know that she's French until she says something in the language.

Adeline got separated from her mom, step-dad, and half-sister when a hoard of Walkers attacked. She has no idea whether or not they're still alive, but she assumes the worst. She has been traveling around on her own since then, and more recently she has come across a small cabin someone seems to be living in. She has stayed nearby, trying to judge whether she should attempt to make contact with the young man taking refuge inside, but she has yet to make herself known. She does not carry a gun because she doesn't want to risk the sound of gunshots attracting Walkers.

Name: Charlotte Petreson
Gender: Female
Age: Twenty-Six
Weapon: Throwing knives and sniper rifle.
Personality: Charlotte is relatively quiet and has a somewhat brooding presence. She holds on too much to the hope that things will get better and that everyone she knows must be okay, even if they aren't with her. She is an optimist except when something involves herself, and she has an overwhelming sense of self-preservation.
Bio: Before the outbreak, Charlotte was a sniper in the military. When everyone realized they couldn't even stay at the military bases, She grabbed her rifle and her knives and ran. First she set her sights on finding her younger brother in Seattle, but when she got there most of the city was in ruins and overrun with Lame-Brains. Since then she has been searching relentlessly for her younger brother. She refuses to give up until either she finds him alive, or finds proof of his death.

Name: Hudson
Gender: Male
Age: Twenty-Four
Weapon: Spear, axe, and lighter.
Personality: Hudson is snarky, but quiet when it comes to anything about himself. He will be loyal to whoever he's running with, however he does change groups often. He does not like to get too attached to those he groups himself with.
Bio: Hudson is a young man from London. He doesn't talk much about his past, and nobody knows whether Hudson is his first or last name. People tend to trust him, despite all of the mystery surrounding him... or, maybe because of it. He's not entirely sure why anyone trusts him. He sometimes wonders if his loyalty to his group members cause them to feel that he's trustworthy. Hudson rarely stays with a group long enough to form much of an attachment, which is purposeful. He doesn't want to be upset when people die. He tries to be somewhat of a jerk to keep people from getting too friendly with him as well, but for some reason people enjoy having him around anyways.
Hudson has an interesting method of Zombie hunting. He uses a spear for distance, and his axe for close-range. He always burns his kills, just to prevent any risk of them getting back up.

Name: William Pierce
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Weapon: Shotgun and rifle
Personality: William has a cold front. He's say that he prefers to be alone but is thoroughly grateful that he isn't alone with everything. It takes a while for people to earn his trust. He's used to stressful situations and acts as the voice of reason in whatever group he's in. He's very serious when it comes to protecting everyone, but sometimes everything can get to him and it'll take the long persuasion of his friends to calm down and hang loose for a bit.
Bio: He was the son of the very wealthy couple that owned a country club, hence his childhood was very privileged. But Will was the youngest of 8 brothers, so most of what he had wasn't passed down from his parents. He's a Yale graduate student and deserved everything he earned there. When the dead started to walk, he gathered a group of friends and tried to save as much possible, but it seemed that the only one that survived was him and his best friend Trevor. They've been together ever since.

Name: Trevor Cicero
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Weapon: Pistol and Machine Gun
Personality: Trevor is a sort of a joker. He was a big clown back in school, but ever since the dead started walking, he's lost a little bit of luster. It still hasn't killed his humor though. He's a loyal friend to William and is a bit of a womanizer.
Bio: Trevor wasn't the richest kid on the block growing up. Not only was his family poor, it was dysfunctional. Trevor made up for this with his social life, being the funny guy as a bit of a mask eventually morphing into his personality. He moved out when he was 16 and started working at a pizza place near Yale. That's where he met William. Before, they hated each other until William introduced him to weed. Soon enough, they became increasingly closer (not because of the drugs) and eventually became really good friends (okay a little because of the drugs). When everything hit, he was with William at a gun shop. They both got really lucky.

I can do what I want,
I'm in complete control
That's what I tell myself.
I got a mind of my own,
I'll be alright alone
Don't need anybody else.
I give myself a good talking to
No more being a fool for you
I remember how you made wanna surrender.

╔═══════☣═══════╗

Noah Renly

╚═══════ஐ═══════╝

Noah stared at the ceiling of the bedroom of the house he had been holed up in for the last few weeks. He knew that once he got out of bed, he would have to face another day of the same things he did every single day. There would be no purpose, no difference, and no end. That was how everything was now. Endless. The only thing that would end it was if he made a mistake, and one of those.. things... outside the gates surrounding his cabin got to him. But he refused to let them win. The gates to his cabin were steel. Someone had gone to great lengths to keep this private bit of land to themselves. He guessed that the family who had owned it had had a reasonable amount of money. Although it was small, there were signs that they would have been comfortable here. There was even food left in the pantries and the cellar. It must have been a vacation home.

Finally, Noah pulled himself up, sitting on the edge of the bed and rubbing his face. He walked into the bathroom and stared in the mirror that he had been careful to keep clean. He pulled at his chin hairs with his fingers, thinking that his beard was looking a bit scruffy, and could use a trim. Then he decided that could wait. He sighed and left the bathroom, clumping down the stairs to the living area. He grabbed his bow off the table, and his quiver, and stepped out the front door. He made his way around the perimeter of the gate, as he did every morning, noon, and evening, and once he was sure the area was clear of Walkers he went to the side of the cabin to pump some water from the well. It was the only water that was available to him, besides bottled, and was on the property so that he could be certain there was nothing contaminating it.

He took the bucket back into the house, stripped himself of his weapon, and set the bucket on the table, staring at it blankly while he decided what to do first.

Always the same,
You say that you'll change
Somehow you never do.
I believe all your lies
The look in your eyes
You make it all seem true.
I guess I see what I wanna see,
Or is my heart just deceiving me
With that look I know so well,
I fall completely under your spell.

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄

They're taking my breath away
For making me wanna stay
Damn your eyes
For getting my hopes up high
Making me fall in love again!
Damn your eyes.❞

Hudson died in Hudson Bay,
The water took its victim's name.
The river's rise told Riverside
To change their names again.
A stranger walked in through the door,
Said all apartments are pre-war.
We laughed and asked him for his name;
He stayed until the end.

╔══════════════╗

Hudson
╚══════════════╝

Hudson wandered down the street, feeling half asleep and rather haggard. The last couple days had been rough for him; more rough than usual. He hadn't been able to sleep much at all last night, having chosen not the most accommodating place. The damn things had been banging on the fence around him all night and making that awful moan. Every few minutes he would pop back awake, thinking they had made it through the fence.

Now it was early in the morning and he stumbled down the road drearily, his axe slung over his shoulder on a rope, spear clutched tightly in one hand, and his other hand flipping open and closed his lighter out of habit. So far there had been no sign of any zombies since he had left his "sleeping" place. He was grateful for the respite, but he knew it could only last so long. He could tell by the ghostly shells of skyscrapers in the distance and the well-known landmark of the Space Needle that he was somewhere in the Seattle area, though he wasn't sure exactly where. He just kept moving. There was no other choice.

Over and over again, all these never-ending visions.
Over and over again like a prize that's changing hands.
The time has a come,
The clock is such a drag.
All you who changed your stripes can wrap me in the flag.
Hudson died on Hudson Bay,
But I was born on Sudden Place.
The rising tide helped me decide to change my name again.
Some tend to linger on and some may case from Babylon.
Some will roam their ruined home, rejoicing 'till the end.

William and Trevor were camped out in an old warehouse nearby Seattle, in Georgetown. Will hated the location, it being way too close to the city for comfort. Any day, a horde could come through and burst through the doors. But, so far, that had not happened. Besides, the place had been heavily fortified with tons of concrete blocking the entryway. It also had an accessible exit off the main road just in case they needed a quick and easy exit. Will thought about the possibility a lot, but Trevor was always the one that kept his constantly worrying mind to rest. Or at least, Trevor quelled the fears that would eat his mind alive. But, better his fears than those things on the outside.

Right now, Trevor was in the basement, hanging out and trying to fix the fridge. For some reason it isn't getting powered by the solar panels and was making their food smell. William did not have the type of patience for that. Instead, he sat in the window, watching the streets. In the distance he saw a figure. He hadn't seen a walker in a week. Will stepping out onto the balcony and grabbed his rifle that leaned on the side. Will wasn't afraid to shoot. The sound would echo and there wasn't a walker in miles that would be able to pinpoint the sound with their lame brains. Will looked through the crosshairs and lined them up with the figure that was appearing to walk closer. Will inhaled, then on the exhale, pulled the trigger. He watched through the scope to see the body fall, but instead saw the bullet hit the concrete, creating sparks. He cursed and reloaded the gun.

Hudson startled at the loud crack of a gunshot, and stopped in his tracks just soon enough for the bullet to whiz by and hit the concrete in front of him, sending sparks his direction. He furrowed his eyebrows together in concern and panic and faced the direction the bullet had come from, waving his arms frantically. Chances are, whoever had shot at him had simply thought he was a zombie, and wouldn't shoot again if he knew that what he was shooting at was an actual living person. Then again, there were always those who didn't care...

But Hudson had to risk it. He even jumped a little, looking pretty stupid, but not really caring. The bullet had come from somewhere over in a clump of nearby buildings. He wondered whether he should try to scope it out, or just keep moving.

William looked through the scope again. The walker reacted to the shot, which was strange for one of them. Usually, they would press on as if nothing had occurred, but this one had completely stopped in its tracks. William wasn't certain though, the figure was too far away that he could only see jagged movement through the rifle's scope rather than explicit detail.

William gritted his teeth. Is this the real deal? The thought of seeing another survivor in this town hadn't crossed his mind since he and Trevor first took refuge here. Most of the walkers that plagued this city had cleared out all of the living and moved on to the east. If this was another survivor, William wanted to make sure. He pointed his gun to a flagpole that stood right above the figure. With one more shot to the pole, it would fall and crush any ignorant walker. But, any person with a right mind would move out of the way in time. The flagpole was about 50 feet tall. It wouldn't topple over very quickly. William inhaled and on the exhale, pulled the trigger.

Trevor was deep within the wirings and workings of the makeshift solar-powered fridge with a blow torch when William shot the rifle. The sound of the gunshot echoed through the city and made Trevor jump, hitting his head on some raised platform. He hadn't heard William's rifle in weeks. Trevor immediately stopped his work and called out to William.

"Will! What's going on up there?" Trevor waited, but there was no response, only another gunshot. "********..." Trevor cast the torch aside and ran up the stairs to see what kind of trouble William was in.

Hudson startled again, ducking under the sound of the bullet striking the thin metal of the pole above him. "Bloody hell...." He muttered to himself, hearing the sound of the creaking metal as he launched himself to the side just in time to see the pole crash to the ground where he had just been standing. He shook his head and cursed again, unsure of whether his shooter was trying to kill him or simply testing him. The shot had been so crisp the first time that he found it difficult to believe that the hit to the pole had been a miss on him. Yes, Hudson was sure the shooter had noticed his odd behavior and wanted to be sure he was really in his right mind. He waved in the general direction of the shooter in an attempt to make peace.

William raised his eyes at the swift movement in the distance followed by the frantic waving. It really was another living person. Dropping the grip on his long gun, he called out to Trevor. "Tre!" William gasped in unsure air as he waited for his right-hand man. "Tre! Get up here, we got a live one!"

In all honesty, William wasn't sure what to do in this situation. The thought of seeing another live human being was not on the top of the list of things that William needed to be prepared for. In that, he was very unprepared. William and Trevor had two choices to make about this guy. Should they bring him in and help him out or leave him be? Surely another person would benefit their cause, since it was another guy that could help watch or hunt for supplies.

But, at the same time, William didn't know this person and what might happen if they acted too recklessly with him. What if he couldn't be trusted and was the cause of their deaths? William and Trevor had a good thing going on here. Georgetown was safe, secluded and empty with supplies and resources galore. This guy could mess everything up. It was then, when Trevor entered the room.

Hudson stood there in the street, wondering what his next move should be. Should he try to approach these people? Or keep moving forward? It might be nice to spend a few nights and regain his energy if they would allow it.... Though he knew he wouldn't be able to let himself stay long if given the option. That was never a good idea. Hudson always moved along his way sooner rather than later.

Trevor ran through the door upon hearing the news. "Gimme the binoculars," he demanded. Will tossed them over to him, waiting for a response from Trevor.

Trevor looked through the lens and cursed. "s**t, Will. Tell me you didn't shoot the guy."

'Will nodded. "I shot at him, I didn't hit him," he protested.

Trevor sighed. Will was a little too eager to pull the trigger. He didn't care what Will did, he was just glad that the guy was still alive. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to go meet him. He could help us." Trevor was always one to think positively of the situation. It was nice to have that quality, given all the terrible things that the boys have gone through.

Trevor then took a flair out of the shelf and threw it on a nearby rooftop. It burned with a heavy orange smoke and bright flashing. It should last them long enough. "There's the meeting point. I'll go down, you hold the fort, Will." He started packing a light backpack with water and a small pistol and ammo just in case. Will wanted to protest and go with him, but then again, Will was not the best judge of character or the most welcoming. Trevor knew that too. So, Will accepted this without saying a word.
