There everyone sat together, almost cramped in the band hall. The room was even more packed with the sounds of talking, hacking, and even some yelling. The room seemed to look as uninviting as it was with all of the loud, annoying band kids inside it. The walls were white painted bricks that looked like it had needed a new coat for years. In some places, the paint on the wall was even chipped. On one side, there were lockers that somehow looked worse than the walls. They were all different sizes, probably because they were assigned to different instruments. On the opposite side, the band hall had windows that would be a great view...if it overlooked something else other than the parking lot. In the front of the hall was a podium, the director's office, unidentified rooms, and two doors. One door that was actually on the side for the band hall with lockers, led out to the rest of the school. The other that was on the side with the windows, led outside. The door that led outside actually was a double-door. In the back of the room, there looked to be practice rooms and a specific larger room for drums and other larger instruments. As the noise seemed to escalate to a peak the director stepped out of his office and walked to the podium. As the white-haired man stepped up onto the wooden pedestal, the whole room seemed to become silent either by having known what to do when he stood there or from following the lead of the older kids. "Hello, everyone. I'll start by calling roll. If I pronounce your name wrong or you go by something else, please speak up. And before the idiots speak up, I won't call you Captain anything, nor will I call you something your mother wouldn't call you. Please act your age," the man announced in a loud, booming voice. He started down the list, calling out the long list. It seemed to go on forever. The list must have easily been three pages long. In the seats that had been set out, there sat three teens that all had a ghostly resemblance. Two of them looked exactly alike except their spiky blond hair was spiked up in opposite directions, and the third had spiky brunette hair that spiked up in the middle. All three had crystal ocean blue eyes, though. The brunette wasn't sitting in a seat. He was on the carpet next to one of the twins with his head in the blonds' laps. Their instruments sat on the floor in front of them: one was a flute, one a clarinet, and one a saxophone. As their last name was called each one spoke up accordingly. "Roxas..." "Here," the blond that was being laid upon spoke up flatly. "Sora..." "Present," the brunette answered cheerfully. "Ventus..." "You can just call me Ven," the other blond spoke up. "Okay, it may take longer to learn your names. Twins?" "Triplets," the brunette corrected as he lifted his head off of Roxas. The director held back a slightly groan before continuing on with the list. As he finished, he instructed the winds to move into all their different sections. "Love you," Sora and Ven stated in unison before standing up and grabbing their respective woodwind instruments--Sora the flute and Ven the clarinet--leaving the saxophone for Roxas. "Yeah, love you guys, too," Roxas mumbled reaching for the sax and standing up to find the rest of his section. Why they ended up in the back of the band hall next to the drum-line, Roxas couldn't comprehend. As he walked up, a bubbly blond with a mullet was stating that he was the section leader. What a joy. Someone that was elected because of popularity to section leader.

Demyx's eyes shone brightly as he looked around at all of the kids in his section. Oh, this year was going to be so exciting! Especially since there were those three Freshman cutie-pie triplets that he got to have fun with every day. "Okay, guys, I'm the sax section leader! For those freshmen who don't know me, my name's Demyx Fletcher! I'm always here to help out with whatever needs to be done, so if you have a problem with anything, I'll either help you, give you what I think of it, or find someone else who is willing to help more than I could! I'm gonna be your best friend!" he said cheerfully, spreading his arms wide as a gesture of welcome. His eyes seemed to twinkle with delight at he lay his eyes on Roxas's bored face. The blond was just so cute! He clapped his hands together merrily. "Okay, let's see how well you guys play. Yeah, non-freshmen, too. I wanna see if any of you practiced over the summer like I told you to," he told them, shooting a piercing glance around the group of upper-classmen and daring them to look him straight in the eyes at the mention of the practice he wanted them to get in. "Anywho. Who wants to go first? Roxy, thank you for volunteering!" he shouted happily and pulled up a chair, plopping down in it. He stared expectantly at the blond as he picked up his own large baritone saxiphone and rubbed a smudge off of the black surface, looking at the piece of metal fondly as he scrutinized the surface for any dings or smudges. "And as a treat, after you guys are done playing, I'll show you what I've been working on!" he chided merrily, seeingly always in his happy little world.

Roxas seemed to put on his extra grumpy face being volun-told to go first. He really didn't feel like being there and playing for this sad excuse of a section leader. Though judging by the way the rest of the section looked he probably shouldn't have been told to go first. He was going to show everyone, including the upperclass-men, up. But he just sighed and accepted this, as he leaned down opening his case. He pulled from the case his neck scrap and then pulled out the polished steel color saxophone. After putting on the mouthpiece and clipping the sax to his neck scrap, the blonde played a note or two to make sure he was relatively in tune.
After getting ready, Roxas got the music that was to be the opener in the show from Demyx to play. He set it up on a stand from a nearby stand rack before glancing over the notes for a moment. It seemed pretty easy. It wasn't the collegiate level that his parents constantly had him playing on, so it was safe to say it would be a walk in the park. He put his sax to his lips and started on the first note. By the time, he reached the end where you were suppose to sing, the fact that he sung, "Some nights, I stay up cashing in my bad luck. Some nights, I call it a draw." lack-lusterly didn't seemed to really matter. Two of the freshmen were crying at this point, and one of the seniors had already leaned over while Roxas as playing and asked if he was allow to quit. Roxas didn't seemed to be amused by either actions. The group of saxophones started to try and shower Roxas in complements on his playing, but Roxas really didn't seem to care about what they were saying. He just sat down having done what he was asked.

Demyx listened intently to Roxas play beautifully. He really may have been one of the best saxophone players he had heard thus far. He was extremely impressed by the small, emotionless blond. However, as the rest of the band was applauding and complimenting him, Demyx just stared at him, looking him over. He seemed almost snobby with how little communication he gave. The boy knew he was good, that was for sure. However, that's no reason for him to sit up on his high horse and look down on everyone else. Demyx's eyes narrowed slightly before pulling on his happy-go-lucky facade once again. "Very good, Roxy. I'm impressed," he told him before looking up at the other freshman in his section. "Alright, you're up next, kid. Gimme everything you've got!" he told him with a grin, fingers running across his own instrument lovingly. He couldn't wait until he could play his baby. He was so antsy about it. It wasn't even for anything like trying to show up his underlings. No, he just loved to play. So when the time came, damn did he play. He hopped out of his seat happily, already having his neck strap on. He was ready to play and now. "My turn!" he said excitedly. He caressed the body of his instrument lovingly once before taking a deep breath and closing his eyes, focusing on the music in his mind and allowing it to flow through his veins. Then he played. It wasn't the song Roxas had played or any song from their show this year. Instead, he played a song he had practiced and practiced at until it was absolutely perfect. His fingers danced swiftly over the keys like it was nothing to play, and his whole body got into the jam, swaying and jerking to the synthesizer that accompanied his own playing in his head. Towards the end of the song, he got a little carried away and continued to go on and extend the music, playing his heart out. He was so lost in his world that he almost jumped when a hand was laid on his shoulder. He instantly snapped out of the music and looked up to see Axel at his side, grinning at him. Damn that redhead. "Come on, Dem. We all know you're ********' amazing. No need to rub it in," he told him with a chuckle on his lips. Demyx turned a crimson red and looked up a little bashfully at the whole room. "Sorry, guys. I kinda got lost in the music," he apologized, his friend shaking his head at him with another laugh.

Roxas’s impression of Demyx didn’t seem to improve with his playing. Yes, he was a beautiful player, but he was the only one that didn’t do the opener, honestly, now he just looked like he was purposely trying to show everyone else up with music he obviously had memorized. Roxas just was not impressed with the blonde at all. Not that many people were actually up to Roxas’s standard. As a bright colored red head came over and stopped Demyx’s playing, Roxas’s blue eyes looked up at the emerald eyes. For a moment, they pulled him in like poison, deeply intoxicating him, but he pushed it away after a moment to regain his composure. The blonde then looked back down at his sax not wanting to acknowledge the redhead any more than he already had.
With perfect timing, the drum major stepped up onto the podium and called the band to attention. The drum major was a slightly taller than average silver haired junior, with an odd sense of style. He didn’t look bad, but it was ninety degree weather and he was in two vest jackets and cargo pants, which at first would tell you that the kid was confused about the weather, but he had on nothing under the vest jackets, so he didn’t have any sleeves, a look not many could pull off like he did. “Everyone, put your instruments up for now, we are going outside for a marching block. Don’t forget your sunscreen for those who burn.” The silverette’s voice resounded. He was a solid tenor as far as voice, and it was quiet lovely to hear him speak. The authority he held only seemed to add to his sexiest, of course.

Axel's eyes glanced up at Riku as he began to speak. "It's workin' time," he said to Demyx, ushering the drum-line out the double doors, pausing to lift his tenors onto his shoulders and grab his sunscreen, not even really taking notice of Roxas yet. He was in his element again, happy as can be surrounded by music and drums and friends. It was fantastic.
Sora, at the authoritative voice telling them to go outside, looked up at the silvernette. He immediately blushed a dark red at the sight of the bare abs. Oh, God, he's so sexy, he thought, brain going a little fuzzy. And I get to look at him all day! He grinned to himself and began humming as he reached into his bag for his sunscreen...only to realize that he had forgotten it. His world crashed down around him. He was going to be bright red for weeks! Groaning, he grabbed his flute and trudged outside to face the blazing heat. He was startled as a tube was thrust into his face. On closer inspection, he noted that it was a bottle of sunscreen. He followed the arm up to see a tall, slender redhead. The bright green eyes startled him and his mouth fell open in confusion. The redhead laughed. "Take it and use it. I have another bottle at home. It's the highest SPF I could find, and you looked like you had forgotten yours. I've been to a whole week of band camp without sunscreen before. It's not fun at all." Sora took the bottle from him with a bright smile. "Thank you so much!" he squealed, uncapping the tube and slathering it anywhere he thought the sun would reach his skin. "No problem, Kid," the redhead said nonchalantly with a smile before stalking off to join his section, lifting the drums back onto his body. He immediately began twirling the sticks between his fingers and playing a random beat to warm up, hands flying around his set. He paused for a second to tame his hair into a spiky ponytail then easily returned to playing. Seeing Riku walk past him, he shouted out, "Rik, you're gonna get some damn bad tanlines if you keep those vests on! Come on, show us what you got under there!" he said with a snigger, eyes glittering.

Riku smirked a little at Axel. "Just because you asked so nicely." He said back slyly before he unzipped both of his vests and let them slip onto the ground. His abs now showing the was very apparent that not only did his abs make rocks look like pillows, but they were so hot that you could cook on them. Riku, after making a show of his abs, bent over and unzipped his pants turning them into cargo shorts. Even Roxas had to agree that at least now Riku looked like he wasn't going to die of heat stroke, and he looked pretty fantastic as he was spraying on some sunscreen. All the girls, and some guys too, were gawking and whispering around watching him get ready. "Do you feel complete now?" Riku asked the redhead with a c**k grin.

Axel let out a sharp wolf whistle to his friend, hearing an, "Ai-ai-ai carramba!" from Demyx somewhere in front of him. "You bring dat sexy back, Baby!" he heard again from the blond, causing the redhead to laugh. "You know I haven't gotten to touch those wonderful things all summer, man. I'm havin' withdrawals! Oh, and I wanted to know if I could borrow you to wash my clothes later on. Best washboard I ever did see." He winked at the silver-headed male, giving him a thumbs up. At least he knew his friend wouldn't keel over and die of heat stroke. Hell, he could already feel his skin gathering sweat beneath the drum rest over his bare shoulders and chest. "Let's get this show goin', Riku. You can gimme a strip tease later in public. I'm too antsy for all this stallin'. I wanna get those beats outta my system!" he said cheerfully.
Meanwhile, when Axel and Demyx acted completely casual about Riku being almost naked in front of them in the heat, Sora just stared up at the sexiest human he had ever met. Oh God, it had to be his drum major, didn't it? Oh, what he would let Riku do to him in a private area... A shudder ran up his spine as he bit his bottom lip, holding back a small moan from the thoughts running through his head. His brain was going to fry itself before they even started playing.

Riku laughed at the two knuckleheads. For his best friends, they sure did like to shower his body in compliments. He didn’t really think he was all that attractive, but they don’t even let that statement start to come out of his mouth. It was probably why he looked as good as he did, because he never thought like he was quite good enough to stop working at it. “Guys, you probably shouldn’t say things like that in front of the freshmen, I don’t want them getting ideas that they can say those things to me.” Riku informed them as he walked over with them to the block line up. He didn’t want the freshmen focusing on gawking at his abs, and not working on learning how to march.
They were out there two and a half hours teaching and re-teaching all the kids how to march. Unfortunately, in this time, the average suck revealed the extraordinary suck. Ventus… Ventus, sadly, was one of the sucker ones. He was so troubled that Riku, after two and a half hours, just couldn’t stand it anymore. He pulled Ven out of the line and took him off to the side of the practice field to try and teach him.
“Okay, obviously you are just not learning with the rest of the group, we are going to just try it with you and me.” Riku exasperatedly stated after getting him to a good spot away from the others. They weren’t out of sight, so all the girls and some boys too could and did still stare fiery lava hate at them as seeing as Ventus was now getting special treatment from their hot new drum major. Ventus, as he glanced back over at the group, felt himself get a little lightheaded. He had always been the shy one of the three triplets, but the fact that Riku seemed completely oblivious to the stares of others. Yes, they were working on stuff over there too, but Ven just knew that they were staring over here every chance they got. He was trying to keep control of his social anxiety, but it wasn’t working, he had even started shaking.
It wasn’t until Riku reach up to fix the kid’s posture in his attention stance that he realized that the kid wasn’t looking too good. “Hey, are you okay?” Riku asked quickly before seeing the kid’s eyes roll back into his head. At the time, Ventus wanted to believe it was just the heat and the other kids’ stares that made him pass out, but if he was completely honest, having Riku right there shirtless probably didn’t help his anxiety, but Riku being right there wasn’t completely bad, because he was able to catch him. Of course, he caught him in an ironic bridal dip pose, but he caught the kid. You could almost hear the steam coming off some of the girls seeing the sight, as Riku easily scooped up the blond with a sigh. “Hey, I got him; you just finish out here so we all can break for lunch.” Riku spoke out to the band director when the man made a move to help Riku with the kid.
The silver haired teen proceeded inside with Ventus in his arms to get him out the heat, and get him some water too.

Sora took in a deep breath as they took a short break from playing, staying in line. He about had a heart attack as he watched Riku walk toward him. His face flushed and his breath got caught in his throat...until he turned and went straight to Ven and pulled him to the side. He felt his stomach drop, and felt ashamed to think how jealous he was that he wasn't getting the same attention from the silver-haired drum major when Ven was having trouble. Ven had the most trouble, he thought, because he started playing his instrument over the summer instead of in seventh grade like the other two triplets did. Sora frowned as he watched them. He could see the panic on his brother's face and got a little worried. Ventus was prone to panic and anxiety attacks if too much attention was on him or if someone was in too close of a proximity. Right now was one of those times. Sora frowned deeply and ran out of the group of band kids after Riku and his brother, knowing Roxas wasn't going to be worried about him.
He hurried after the two and went to Riku's side, forcing himself to not look at Riku's face...or abs. "H-He, um... He had an anxiety attack, I think. He has them a lot. He just needs to rest, then he should be okay again, though." He paused and instinctively looked up into Riku's eyes to speak to him. It was a good habit of his to keep eye contact while he was talking to someone, but he wished it wasn't in this case. He just got caught in those beautiful aquamarine orbs, voice caught in his throat as his face heated up once again. He tore his gaze away and looked back at his brother's resting face. "It gets to him when there's too much attention on him or if someone's too close to him. He's never really done that well with interacting with other people in close proximity... He's really sweet and nice, but he's just bad with being close with people," Sora mumbled so it wouldn't be as awkward for him. He ran his fingers through the blond locks of his twin's sweaty hair. "He could probably do with a cold bottle of water, too, if we have any. If not I'll go get him one out of a vending machine," he told his drum major, still not looking up at his face for fear of getting lost in those eyes again.
Demyx frowned as he watched Ventus pass out. Poor kid. He sighed and his eyes followed the brunette version of him as he ran off to aid his brother. How sweet, he thought with a smile. He looked over at Roxas then, frowning again as he didn't seem phased at all with his brother passing out. "Roxas, are you not worried about him?" he asked, concern in his gaze. The boy was so emotionless that he almost couldn't handle it. He hung out with his friend Zexion outside of school before and he was pretty emotionless, but he showed it sometimes. At least Demyx knew he cared with how he acted. Roxas, however, just seemed completely devoid of emotion or caring of any sort. It really worried him. It wasn't very healthy, he didn't think.

Riku glanced over at the brunette triple that suddenly appeared next to him as he was walking inside with Ventus. “I figured that it was something like that, but I wanted to get him out of the heat just in case.” Riku said as he walked the rest of the short distance into the band hall. In an open area of the band, Riku gently set the kid down on the ground. The silver haired teen figured the open floor might be better than laying him across chairs where he might wake up startled and fall off. “Well, I guess if he was looking to break his fear of being close to people, I’m sure that he will here, we aren’t exactly personal space kind of people if you haven’t noticed.” Riku commented thinking about Demyx’s frequent hug fests as he stood back up. “I brought extra water bottles, he can have one of mine.” Riku informed Sora softly before walking over to a French horn locker, and opening it. From out of it, he pulled a small cooler before shutting it again.
“Here, you can have one too, there really isn’t enough time before lunch to go back out there and do anything productive anyways. Might as well just start lunch a little earlier.” Riku told Sora with a soft smile as he pulled out three bottles from the cooler and handing two of them to Sora. Then if on cue, Ventus startled up a little shocked. “w-what happened?” he asked a little confused where he was for a second. “You passed out, but don’t worry, you are in good hands.” Riku said offering a warmer smile as he gestured to the brunette. Even though Sora didn’t really do much other than inform Riku of Ventus’s condition, Riku thought it might go over better if Ventus thought Sora was the one that took care of him. “I just had to come in here with you two to make sure that you guys didn’t just skip out.” Riku explained making up a reason why he would be in there with them if he didn’t help.
“Sora and Riku seemed like they had it under control, why should I add more panic to the situation by flipping out? He does this every time he meets a big group people, it gets old after a while.” Roxas spoke unremorsefully as he shrugged the situation off almost like he didn’t even know Ven. Soon after, Xemnas finished up the marching fundamentals, and sent everyone in for lunch. Roxas, after being dismissed, walked calmly inside and walked over to Ventus and Sora. “Come on, we only have an hour for lunch, and mom gave me money to take you guys out.” Roxas said helping Ven up off the floor. “Oh okay.” Ventus said letting Roxas pull him up off the floor with his water bottle. What most people didn’t understand that what Roxas didn’t show in emotion, he made up in for being strong. Ven’s social skills were almost non-existent and Sora was almost too social, so Roxas was their anchor. No matter what happened, when the smoke cleared Roxas would be there the same as he always had been.
