How many of you completly lose yourselves in the music of Phantom of the Opera? Whenever I listen to it, my mind just goes numb and I fall into myself. Through that music I can let go of an overflow of emotion in my life and really see who I am. I just let the music pierce my soul and flow through me and consume my entire being. Whenever I have to stop listening I sort of wake up from a dream and am a little dizzy after wards, but the sensation is so amazing! You all should try going into your room, turn off the lights so it is completly dark, kneel in the middle of your floor, and turn on the overture full blast once you have done the latter. The music will hit you so hard it amazing. Then, just listen! It's great! @ <)>Anje

i've done that before...i know exactly what your talking about. Whenever i get home and it's one of those nights where you feel someones watching you and you do a bunch of double takes i just sit in my room, close my eyes and listen to music of the night...and i dont feel scared anymore

I adore MOTN, and all the other wonderful Phantom songs. Each one gives me a different feeling or emotion. I get shivers and goosebumps (like the ones you get the first time you see Phantom on stage!) during the Overture, a light, innocent, happy feeling during Think of Me, and I feel like I'm being seduced in Point Of No Return!!
I enjoy listening to PHANTASIA, Phantom of the Opera through Fantasia when I am going to sleep as it is very peaceful and helps you fall asleep. Miss. Daae

I wonder how Webber does that through music. It makes me feel as if nothing could go wrong. It relaxes me and enlightens me. Sometimes I feel as if I'm waiting for my Phantom in the world to come find me and rescue me from its clutches. To sing to me forever. I only wish... @ <)>Anje

One night, night R.B. was listening to Music of the Night and trying to write in her novel. She got up to go to the bathroom and got this feeling in her stomach. When she was walking back down the hall she saw her door was closed and she didn't think she had closed it. Then she thought she heard the knob turn from the bathroom door. She turned around and her eyes put a strange glow in the bathroom mirror. She had delusions then and heard The Phantom of the Opera ending, with the vocalizing, and she jumped and turned quickly and thought she saw a hand reaching for her. She ran to her room and closed the door, sat in the fetal possition on her bed and looked around paranoid-like. Then she heard The Phantom singing the music of the night and fell side-ways onto her bed. She listened to the soft music and fell asleep before the dynamics increased. The last thing that she thought she heard/saw was the flutter of a black cape.

I notice I am the first, and most likely the only, male in this forum and before I progress let you me inform you that I am most certainly not gay, unless, of course, you mean extremely happy, in which case I tend to be so. I am as straight as a board. Now, to begin...
I love the music in the Phantom of the Opera. I find that it is just perfect. Its sound, its feeling, its beat, its orchestra, its vocals. Every part like a piece in a puzzle and the end result is wonderful and could not be so if even one, small piece was missing. I love the emotion of the music. You can really fell the Phantom's despair in the "All I Ask of You (Reprise)," the light-heartedly fun in "Masquerade," the terror and desperation in "Down Once More," and so on. I also believe they choose a spectacular cast to go along with these great songs, both in the play and in the movie. Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, Steve Barton, et cetera were wonderful and Gerard Butler, Emmy Rosum, Patrick Wilson, et cetera were a great "second generation." I find that both soundtracks, from the play and movie, and awe-inspiring and among my favorite music. I so loved the Phantom songs, in fact, that I thought myself to play them on the Piano and later the Organ, but as far as the Organ goes I can only play the "Overture" at the moment.

To my dear Phantom,
I must say that you are most assuredly not the only male in this guild, nor the only one with a Phantom-esque avatar. Our dear creator is a male (though I do admit to paying for most of the guild), and he is quite straight as well.
Sincerely,
The Phantom of Music

You have no IDEA...Everytime I hear that song, I suddenly feel like I'm really there with Erik/Phantom. It's a bit odd, but it's true.

What really relaxes me is listening to the whole soundtrack (I've got the poo-bah doo-dah 2-disc practically every note played movie soundtrack) at night or when I'm stressed. Its like watching the movie. And I'm practically always asleep when I get to MOTN.
