The night was soothing as John walked up the hill to the graveyard. The tombstones surrounded him as he walked among them. there writing faded and fading.For a person such as John to be here was a little out of place since his whole ideals where based around the thought of preserving mankind and helping it progress.Though there was one personality trait that set john apart from most wastelands inhabitants. He had accepted death long ago and knew that at any point he could leave this world and move onto the next.The Graves brought peace to johns mind as it had been focused on the mission that was coming. He placed a hand on a headstone that was interesting. The last name was Maxwell the same as his. Though he knew that his parents had died in a land far from here the grave brought a calmness to his mind. taking a seat on the opposite side of the grave john looked out over the town below wondering what the other people of the town where doing. Soon the weariness of work over ruled his conscious thought process and john drifted off to sleep.
{ENTER} Val looked across the graveyard. She didn't know any of these people but she knew many of their stories. The newer ones, lined across the back. Some of the older ones scattered among more of the forgotten souls. The red headed woman didn't feel like going into town just yet. She had left Dead town to look for work because face it Dead town had always lived up to its name. Stepping lightly, she walked along the graves, pausing every time she recognized a name. Val would cross her arms and pay a moment of silence before moving on. She was sort of happy she stopped by until she came across a dead body. Her eyes widened as she knelled down next to it. It seemed pretty fresh male.. wait.. was he breathing. "Hey!" she barked, giving him a slightly shove."Who the hell takes a nap in a graveyard!"

Johnathan was sleeping peacefully in the land of dreams when he was pulled back to consciousness by his body being shaken. He awoke with a start his hand shooting like a dart into his jacket. His hand instinctively flipped the safety off on his weapon. Yet he didn't draw it for his eyes where adjusting to the light. he was met with a red haired girl standing in front of him and shaking him. "Your parents ever tell you to let a person sleep."he asked as he raised his free hands to his eyes and rubbed them of sleep as he began to shake off the fatigue from his sleep.He realized it was still night out. he let out a small yawn as his body continued to wake up.
Val raised her brow with a slight grin on her face. She stood from her spot and shrugged. "Ya, you're right." she ran her bandaged hand through her hair. "I shoulda just buried you without bothering to check whether you were alive." she went to her pouch for a cigarette but realized quickly that thered be none. She had finished them all and needed to find the store to buy some wraps and tobacco. So Val crossed her arms to keep them occupied.

He chuckled at her remark. "Then maybe I would be able to study what it's like to be In a grave for a few hours" he said flicking the safety on. He removed his hand from his jacket. he didn't sense any hostilities from the new comer. "So if you don't mind me asking what brings you up her instead of going along the road straight to the town?" he asked kindly. He pushed off the ground and rose to his feet. He brushed the dirt off the back of his jacket and pants.He flicked a spider off his shoulder that must have climbed up on his while he was asleep.
Val scoffed. "Boy, you'd suffocate in a matta of minutes."she spat to the side making sure it didn't land on a grave. Of course Val had noticed him go to for his gun, but hey, she was a quick draw herself. And on her shotgun, there was no safety. Looking around, that was a good question for the both of them. "Just to pay some respects is all. You?" she asked, giving him the once over. He musta been some sort of science guy.

"well I would be able to gather enough data before I clawed my way out like one of those prewar zombie movies" he said.His mind began to wander onto the subject of wondering how long it would take some one to claw there way out after being buried.His thoughts snapped back when she asked what he was doing here."Well Its a clam place to sleep as you stumbled upon me in that state." he said as he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a silver pocket watch. He snapped it open his eyes glanced down and read the time before the pocket watch snapped close again.
This guy had to be some sort of weirdo to be talkin' about dirt nap data and sleepin' in graveyards for the fun of it. Val shook her head slightly, glancing over at his watch. That musta cost a pretty penny. "Look guy, I don't care if you're homeless. I get it ya know. I sleep outside all the time."she offered it as a way for him to maybe redeem himself from the whole 'sleeping next to the dead cause its nice' view. It was just.. unnatural.

He looked up at her when she mentioned she didn't care if he was homeless. "well The outside does give a nicer breath of fresh air then inside a home. But a building offers you protection from the elements when you sleep." he said stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jacket.He longed to return to the building he called home. It was far from this place at least a 4 and a half day travel from the town at the base of the hill.The wind kicked up and john felt it roll across his skin causing a shiver in his shoulders.
Val shook her head. "Tell me about it. But I can't condone sleepin' somewhere I can expect to be found every night. It just ain't safe." she looked up at the night sky. Val had enough enemies, lots of town dogs and bands of thieves that thought they could get away with anything just cause it might be the end of the world. "So you're not homeless?"

"No I'm not I keep a home that is also part of my shop." He said following her gaze to the stars. They unlike the earth never seemed to change even though they where the remnants of a stars light that had reached this part of space. "But staying in a single spot gives you the feeling of security especially when you have the means to protect that home." he said with a smile as his eyes drifted to the light of the town at the bottom of the hill.
Val scoffed, glancing over to see him looking up at the sky. "Pft, I've got all the security I need boy." she tapped her belt, covered in shot gun shells. She wouldn't actually take out her gun. It was irresponsible to draw on someone armed, they might take it the wrong way. Though she realized now he said shop, that might be of some use. "Aw yeah? What kinda shop you got?"

Johnathan ignored her scoff at him and just went with answering her question. "My shop serves as a repair, tinker, and exploration shop.You bring me something and I can get it working in about day or so as for what I sell material wise It's mostly maps and Items I have restored from the wastes," he said The tinkering part he left out not wishing to go into detail about it since most of what he worked on would go to helping towns of homes. He then finally looked at the shotgun shells that covered her belt. "12 gauge?" he asked questioningly knowing shells where reused and if they where actually what they seemed
It wasn't exactly the type of shop Val was looking for but like everything else, it had its value. He could probably fix up one of her guns if they ever broke or something, not like they had before. "Interesting."she smiled, giving him a slight nod of approval before touching the strap across her chest that held up her shot gun."Why that's right. You sure gotta eye on you." Val chuckled and rubbed her arm as it started to get cold."So are you gonna sleep out here all night?"
