★★☆

A good discussion typically requires that more than one person read the book. However, with the millions of books available to us, we are sometimes hard pressed to find that second person (or, dare I say it, more). So how do we share our thoughts on a book that no one else seems to have read?

Write a review!

Using the form below, tell us how you perceived the book.
- Reviews should be well thought out, well written, and no less than a full paragraph in length.
- Be more specific than "I absolutely hated this book, it was the worst thing I've ever read." Tell us WHY you hated it.
- No earth-shattering spoilers. This is a review, not a plot summary. You can talk about the writing style and the character development without revealing the ending or key plot points.
- In the "who would you recommend this to" space, think about the kind of reader that would enjoy this book. Someone who enjoys hardcore fantasy books with little to no romance involved? Someone who prefers the roller-coaster of a lot of unforeseen plot twists?

A Girl Named Disaster by Nancy Farmer. A Girl Named Disaster is a girl named Nhamo who lives in a traditional Shona village in Mozambique in 1981. After a disaster strikes the village, she is forced to marry a cruel man. Not wanting to, she decides to run away. I enjoy this book because it was well thought out, and takes some time to get deep into the plot. It also goes into the customs and religion of her village, and it really affects her journey along the way. I recommend this book to anyone who like to read about adventure with a few plot twists, and a lot of history.
