Rain. Why did it have to be rain? It had even started out as a nice day, and now, it was rain. Tornak strutted through the fields, rain drops splattered on her bone helm. It was still a couple hours till dark, and day and a half til the next town. If she was soft, like so many other Corleo, she would find some place dry to wait until the rain stopped. But there was no way a little rain would slow her down. On ward she trotted, with things to do, and people to see.
Then, ahead of her, she saw some thing. Or some one to be more specific. Some one who was just sitting there, in the rain, with out a care in the world. Anyone like that must be a little crazy she thought, so she approached with caution, smelling the air, looking for any signs of death, though the rain made it hard to get a good sense of anything really. Another reason to dislike the rain. As if she needed more reasons.
When she got close enough that she though this odd ball would hear her, she called out, "Hey! Don't you know better than to sit in the rain! You're going to catch a cold! Get some where dry!"

Yukkeshe was out enjoying the storm. He'd left his Pride behind to go out and see the world for a bit... maybe there'd be less chores out there or something. He'd seen the storm roll in and decided that sitting and watching it come towards him would be a good use of his time. After all, he'd already eaten and had no real need to go anywhere.
As he sat in the blissful rain filled field, he let his mind empty and just watched entranced by the water. He twitched with surprise as he heard someone call out. Sighing with disappointment at his enjoyment being intruded upon, he turned his head slowly to peer at the approaching small figure.
"I like the rain. What's wrong with sitting in it?" He asked with a sigh as he slouched down onto his low rock. Maybe the small one would go away after a while. This one seemed far too like his eldest sister, who always told him to come in from the rain.

Taken back by his words f or a second, she puffed out her chest and swaggered over to him. "What's wrong with it? What's Wrong with it?! It's the rain, that's what's wrong with it! It's cold, it's wet, and you'll get sick. What are you, a simpleton? Now get yourself someplace dry before I have to find some one to heal you." She said, walking up nice and close to him.
He didn't seem injured, or like he might be waiting for something, so why on earth would he be sitting out here? And how could anyone like the rain? That was just crazy. Surely there had to be more to it then that. Was he waiting for some one?
Looking up at the skies, she saw clouds as far as the eye could see in any direction, meaning the rain might continue for a while yet. And night wasn't too far off, so the temperature would likely drop. It was going to be a lousy night. Hopefully she would be able to find someplace dry to sleep at least. Maybe this big dummy had a place around here where she could crash...

Yukkeshe merely smiled and shook his head at the Cormini's remarks, this one really was like his older sister... "I like the rain, it doesn't bother me at all nor have I ever gotten sick from it. The wet and sound of the rain is enjoyable to me, small one. If you are worried about yourself, then I suggest you find a nice bushy pine tree to hide under or something.. though this should help you for a bit." Yukkeshe was amused at this female, she thought he was a simpleton for sitting in the rain? He twitched his tail and mentally gathered the rain drops falling about him into a whirling platter and moved it to hover over Cormini, just because the other was rude didn't mean he had to be. "No need to find someone to heal me. It's an easy task to dry myself off if I need to. I am Yukkeshe of the Avre Pride, you are?"

The momentary break from the rain was a relief, and so she rather unceremoniously decide to sit for a spell. "You are an odd one. But you seem nice, so I think we'll get along. And you are a long way from the Avre's normal stomping grounds. Where you headed? I'm Tornak by the way." She gave her short fur a good shake, trying to get as much of the water out of it as she could. Looked like conversation had found her, and it was dry, so might be here a while. Not like she had to be anywhere any time soon anyway, right?
Looking the big fella over, she tried to get a sense as to what he was all about. Clearly, he liked rain, and if he was just sitting here, he must not be in a hurry. Maybe he was homeless? Or a runaway? Then again, it's hard for adults to really run away, ain't it?

Yukkeshe shifted and laid his head back down on his folded paws, relaxing as well as trying not to loom over the other.
"Hmm, I just left home. Not sure what I'm doing, just wandering I guess. Out to meet people, see the world a bit. Maybe go and see one of those humans that I keep hearing about."
Plus he'd left to get out of the house and overbearing family who kept on trying to get him 'involved,' as they called it, with the clan. Not like I want or need more responsibility and have no wish to settle down yet like they want me too... "What about you, Tornak? What are you doing out here?"

"I'm doing my job, that's what! I'm a Messenger. I deliver messages between the Prides!" She said with pride, puffing out her chest a bit. It was a hard job, but it was nice to see so many people, and to do everyone a service. Just had to keep all the messages straight, which could be a pain some times, but worth it. And she could find her way almost anywhere now days. Still wasn't too sure about these weird humans. Anything with out a tail probably couldn't be trusted...
As her fur began to dry, she let little jolts of static electricity wander down it, encouraging it to stand on end. Much of it still fizzled out since she was still pretty much drenched, but it still made her feel better. "If you aren't doing anything constructive, you should come be my apprentice! We are always looking for new Messengers!"
The thought of having her first Apprentice was exciting. She was the only one of her Mentor's Apprentices that had not found an apprentice of there own, but she was also the youngest, so it wasn't overly surprising. But maybe she could convince this guy to join. Surely he could be trained.

Alex Eternal quoting you here since it's kinda easier :3 Yukkeshe's ears perked up, a messenger? He'd seen a few strangers come and go quickly and they always had a message or package... was that what this lady did? Well, that sounded interesting. He wasn't averse to working so long as he wasn't rushed, plus he also liked having something to do. Wandering aimlessly just wasn't as fun as he though it'd be. Doing something with a purpose would be nice... "Hrm, is it a job that requires speed? I'm often told that I'm too slow. Personally I like to take my time and prefer not to rush places." He rumbled curiously. "If so, then I wouldn't mind being an apprentice for a while as I try it out." word count so far: 568! Whoo! Yukke can level up!

"Nah, you ain't got to be fast, just persistent and a bit stubborn. Remember, the message always gets through! You got a good memory? Repeat after me: Sco Po Tro No Fro Jo Ko Fo To Do." It was the most basic of tests, but it would determine a lot about a potential apprentice. Namely how well they listen, and how well they remember. Not just any one had what it took to be a messenger after all. But, with the right training many could be made to work well. Hopefully. And she could use a good Sazut (Apprentice), to keep her branch going.
Though, she might have to learn to live with his love of rain. Which was just weird... How could anyone like water that much? It's cold, wet, and falls from the sky. No part of that was good. Made her sparks fizzle... But she could live with it if he proved to be a good Kshoyut (Messenger). First thing's first though.
And she couldn't forget she was still on the job, she had a message to deliver, and it wasn't going to deliver itself. The recipient was still about two weeks away at this point, but it should be pretty easy travelling, and the message wasn't particularly time sensitive, so it should be alright to rest here tonight and check this fellow out. If he worked out, it would be a boon, and if not, she wouldn't really be out anything. And you never knew unless you tried.(Word count says 1025 for me)

Yukkeshe nodded as he listened, so not fast just stubborn? He could do that. "Sco Po Tro No Fro Jo Ko Fo To Do" He repeated absently as he considered if he wanted to do this. Not like I'm doing anything else! Just wandering.
"Other than deliver messages, do you do anything? I'm interested in seeing if this profession would suit me. I have nothing planned in my future, so I guess this would help me see the world and do something with my life." He asked curiously. Though if he had to travel a lot, it'd cut down on grooming time... But he could get used to it... hopefully.
